  1. I mean, lists with Creed and so and so stuff hitting the #1 spot. I know people like to shit on CD, but the 2008 song is a generic power ballad. I'd take even Kings of Leon instead of this one (which I really like, but I don't consider it to really be a rock song).
  2. Not sure if it was posted before, but in Colombia they played the song and Slash improvised the solo again. Safe to assume that it wasn't a mistake, he just wanted to play it different.
  3. Where all those instrumental ideas went? Did Slash used anything from that batch after VR?
  4. I get that and I agree, but it's just that we don't know for sure. And maybe the fact that both songs were not part of the Village batch means that it would still need some overdubs by 2020-ish. It's not safe to assume anything until we have access to some demo from pre-NITL era.
  5. Disagree, but maybe I'm thinking as a guitarist. I def got into the song way later than the average GNR fan, and I totally understand why it's considered one of his best solo songs. Both the riff and chorus are extremely catchy. I do agree that Fill My World is very good, though.
  6. But why would he use that semi-hollow guitar for the Magnatone video? Not sure how old you are, but the older guy may have looked like (meaning: $$$) he would be the target costumer for the company hahaha Anyways, that sucks. And I totally get what you said about the amp. And it's a 100 piece limited run, which will no doubt make an already expansive gear into a collector's item. Fuck that. The VR before Scott sounded really good IMO. With a good producer, I think it would be really awesome. But I totally get why they didn't want to slap some generic LA singer on top of all that and instead wanted to try someone really different.
  7. I think Duff's demos have priority in this case. Keep in mind that both Duff and Slash are not Axl's employees.
  8. I think there's a lot of controversy out there because of this amp being so much like a JCM but overly priced. As someone who can't afford a JCM anyways, I'll just have to go with my cheap gear lol. The Magnatone guy repeated the same thing about Slash's solo album coming in March in this interview for Andertons:
  9. That’s upsetting. What did he do? And what else did you see there? I thought this was really cool:
  10. Maybe I posted this in the wrong section, but it seems like Magnatone's guy is expecting Slash's solo album for March already.
  11. Edited with the SERPENT festival announcement: -- Edited again with official info about the single. Will update once the full tracklist goes official. The first song is Killing Floor (feat. Brian Johnson). It's already out depending if you live in the future. -- Edit: Seems like something is coming indeed. --- <Original post> The Magnatone guy kinda went ahead and said he thinks Slash's new solo album will be out by March. Check it out from 2:12 below.
  12. I don't consider it the worst song, but I think it's boring. I agree 100% with Raw Power and Ain't it Fun. I love it. It was one of the songs (alongside with Breakdown) that got me into learning how to play a guitar.
  13. Found this other video, a bit longer: And this one gets the solo at least, with better audio quality:
  14. Thanks! I wish he had stick to the original solo, but it's great to see this performed live.
  15. The full release notes: Release from Guns N' Roses: "The General" Music Video** Guns N' Roses have unveiled a new music video for their single "The General." This release marks a significant milestone for the band, as it introduces a pioneering use of AI in their video production. The video masterfully combines live footage, motion graphics, hand-drawn elements, and AI-rendered content, offering an immersive, A.I.-infused visual experience. It features a narrative that explores the subconscious of a young boy confronting his dark childhood memories, seamlessly blending different visual worlds. This approach continues Guns N' Roses' tradition of delivering bold and innovative visuals. The project was brought to life in collaboration with London based Creative Works, and led by Creative Director and Co-Founder Dan Potter, the concert visuals director for Guns N' Roses. Potter explains, "The decision to integrate AI into our storytelling process was inspired ultimately by the band management. Prior to combining the AI workflow, the team had been working on an animated cinematic in Unreal Engine. Incorporating this new AI workflow significantly impacted the project's direction and the unique visual style resulting from this blend aligns perfectly with the song's vibe. This showcases how using these new tools leads to successful collaborations between traditional and AI-driven art forms." 16. Seems like. The only thing I like about this song is the solo.
  17. Since I Don't Have You isn't really that great. I love the New Rose - Down on The Farm - Human Being - Raw Power - Ain't it Fun combo. And it's interesting to me how TIL is so popular above the other CD tunes. If they released a video for that, I'm sure it would stack up way higher.
  18. That's awesome. It's one of my personal favorites. Hope the whole video surfaces soon.
