The later is the greatest satire/black comedy ever made.Stanley Kubrick is my favourite director, and those two films are probably on my top ten. Jackie Moon Posted April 7, 2009 Share Posted April 7, 2009 I liked Relegious too.However, I think Dogma was a better film of similar subject.dogma is really good, i dont think you can compare the two though. i always felt the moral of dogma was like, god is real, just dont worry about the details. its like they poke fun at catholicism, whats literal, whats misunderstood, interperted, ect. but 'dont worry, cuase god is real, so just go with it.' thats also the point of religulous, except coming from the opposite end. hes saying ,the bible is so clearly made up, why would you either 1.take the bible as proof of gods existance or 2.arbritarily believe in god, then accept the bible as either literal fact or 'metaphorical stories', which is the theme of dogma.
