Slash can't even keep his own story straight

"I never went to Axl's house"

"Well, what I meant is that I went there but it was just to try to talk to him about a lawsuit"

"Well, actually, I went to Axl's house to apologize to him for the way things turned out"

Why would you believe that guy?

Or how about, in his book, "Me leaving had nothing to do with creative differences"

Yes, in 1995, "Axl's all into Pearl Jam and wants to make songs like that. Well I fucking hate Pearl Jam"

This is What Axl said about MY WORLD (blames it on Slash) on HTGTH:

Q: - What the hell was My World? lol (I've always been curious)

A: Great question and here goes for all your inquisitive minds with a bit you aren’t aware of but is the real story…

Unfinished 1st run 1st dabbling/experimenting all in fun demo that became Duff’s favorite song at the time telling me how he loved to blast it at his house with Ice T and the Bodycount guys before Illusions came out and before it was decided to be on the record. I wanted to try and develop it and wanted guitars of some kind but Slash felt and his words at the Record Plant in all seriousness were “It’s perfect” and Slash and Duff were the deciding factor to have it on the album. eek

Personally I feel Duff legitimately liked it but I can’t say Slash did in the same way. In fact I feel he was keenly aware some would take issue with the track and against me so for him in that sense it was “perfect”. Imo Duff wasn’t aware or part of that and was “used” unwittingly for support in talking me out of developing it or not including it which at the time I had no real intention of using as is.

Are we supposed to actually believe this? He makes it sound like Slash had some mastermind plan to make him look like shit.

So you believe Slash's claim? As in, Axl somehow managed to sneak the song onto the album without ANYONE else knowing about it? That's believable? These guys didn't listen to the final cut of their own album before releasing it?

Well unlike Axl, Slash probably doesn't keep a notepad of things that happened 20 years ago...

IZZY (on Axl): "But, I mean he had a fucking notepad. I could hear him, turning the pages, going, 'Well, ah, you said in 1982... blah, blah, blah...' And I'm like, what the fuck - 1982? He was bringing up a lot of really weird old shit. I'm like, whatever, man. But that's the last time I talked to him.

Ugh, the problem is there will be three kinds of people.

-People who would believe that if Slash said he encotured a magical world with naked strippers riding unicorns around with there being a endless cigarette.

-People who would believe if that Axl if he said somewhere in Warren Fedelez caused Delay's on the record because he couldn't get a proper cup of coffee.

-People who take both stories and take them for what they are and look at contradictions and try to think it through logically.

Maybe he should start keeping one, if he can't even remember that he went to Axl's house, or why

The guy is full of shit, and has needed nobody other than himself to prove it. Why is that so hard for some of you to accept? He's a liar. If he was telling the truth his account of events wouldn't change every time he speaks

it seems to me that some Slash fans just want to put their hands on their ears and discredit anything negative about slash....

I really dont get why people feel the need to take sides anyway...NONE of us were there and all we can go on is accounts from others...and take what we believe to be true..

I just find it hilarious that people will argue on for pages on issues they didnt live through.....just let it go...and take it for what it is...2 sides of the same story....

So how do you explain "One in a Million" on Lies and "Look at your game girl" by charles manson on Spaghetti Incident. Those were also Slash's fault?

I think it's cool to get Axl's perspective on everything but the people whose words carry more weight for me are Izzy and Duff. They have always been more agenda free than either Axl or Slash.

I think there is a lot of truth to the guy who said "unstoppable force, immovable object". It seems to make sense that Slash and the band probably made so many compromises during Use your Illusion that they were unwilling to make any more concessions afterwards. I think Slash even says that in an interview around that time that he wanted to have more control and say over what the followup to UYI would be like.

Anyway major kudos to Axl for writing all that up. This is uncharted territory for a gnr fan.

Honestly I don't think we need all these "fights", the most important thing is the music. Axl and Slash have their points of view their opinions, I don't care about their personal lifes. Slash participated in Appetite, Illusions, is gonna release a solo album, Axl has Chinese democracy, more beautiful music. Both of them are legends. I respect both of them as musicians. The rest is bullshit.

Baz, what d' ya think about Bumblefoot, I can't stand the guy, don't like his style, he doesn't belong to Gn'r, I think Catcher was ruined because his awful guitars... besides he doesn't know the lyrics of 18 and life lol...

Thank for sharing with the fans Baz, you're da man.

PD, You should join Velvet Revolver, seriously.

Look. As fans we should not be trying to cause a greater gap between Axl and Slash. We should be trying to get them to make peace with each other. Somebody owes somebody and apology. Maybe they BOTH owe each other apologies. Can't they work this shit out somehow? I want to see them together again. They were amazing together.

The problem is I think they're both way too proud to make the first contact to try patch things up.

We all need to kidnap Axl, Izzy, Slash and Duff and lock them in a room. I think that would be the only way they would talk.

I don't even care if they don't reform, I just want them to be on talking terms again.

SHAVE YOUR MULLET and GET A REAL JOB... INSTEAD OF WORKING AT THE SHOE RENTAL AREA OF THE BOWLING ALLY AND TRYING TO HIT ON 13 YEAR OLD GIRLS

Wow, that was a retarded "insult" to a guy who was stating his opinion.

No it wasn't because most people like him actually do work at a bowling ally. I have seen it time and time again... He isn't stating his opinion, he is trying to take a shot at Axl and hoping for a response.

Bowling alley is a new one. At least you didn't go for that fallback, idiotic, "Parents Basement" insult.

One of the best post since a while.

Axl, just please stop making all negative comments about the old line-up and all positive comment about the ´current line-up´.

Please, just remeber that you became famous WITH those guy´s: if you wouldn´t have been in a band with Slash, Izzy, Duff and Steven, than there wouldn´t have been a GN´R forum and people would have never heard of you (atleast not the way, you are recognized know)

Wow, the two of you are retarded. Please lock ;)

I´m just telling a fact

If your such an ass-kissing person, okay, but I'm not

What do those songs have to do with anything?

Axl didn't claim that My World was Slash's "fault", what he said is that Slash and Duff knew of the song and both of them claimed to like it. That he didn't put the song on the album without anyone else knowing it. In essence, that Slash claiming he didn't know the song or didn't know it was on there is bullshit, and an attempt to distance himself from it after the negative reaction it received

he's gives the same EXACT answers on the question on every board...

that's a bit strange

Perhaps Axl doesn't want to have to respond multiple times to a question he's already answered so he copies and pastes the applicable answer from the original thread over to one asking that question.
