What is The worst Year for music?

94-97 pop was shit, rock was shit, metal was non existent.

There were a few exceptions of course, but for the most part I can't find anything I like from that era...

Come on man, really?

STP, Floyd, Soundgarden, REM, Nine Inch Nails, and Pearl Jam all had shit out in 1994 alone, that's pretty cool to me. I honestly don't think I could single out a year, but as far as decades go I'd say the 80s were pretty shitty for music, at least when compared to the 60s, 70s, 90s and 00s.

could not get into it

Besides Floyd and NIN all those bands are grossly overrated.

Hmm, out of just the albums I have on my WMP:

1963 - With the Beatles

1964 - Beatles for Sale, Hard Days Night

1965 -

1966 - Blonde on Blonde

1967 -

1968 -

1976 - Small Change

1977

1978 - Blue Valentines

1979

1980 - The River, Heartattack and Vine

1981 -

1982 - Nebraska

1983 - Swordfishtrombone

1984 - Ride the Lightning

1985 - Rain Dogs

1986 - The Queen is Dead

1987 - Strangeways, Louder than Bombs

1988 -

Obviously its all a bit biased and isnt complete, but from that I conclude there is no bad year for music. Even with Michael Jackson dead, he wasn't going to make much more incredible music, the only thing people really wanted to see was him perform.

The years 1999 - 2003 were really bad. Loads of rap/metal crap. Started getting better around 2003 with bands like The Vines/White Stripes/Black Rebel Motorcycle Club/The Hives and The Strokes. Most of the aformentioned bands have also now gone to shit but they all came out at just the right time to breath fresh air into music.

those werent bad. got an awesome gnr song in 99, haha. good bands with albums out in those years:

slipknot, cradle of filth, kid rock, misfits, buckcherry, system of a down....

00s are going hard as fuck.

I don't know if that means it's a good decade for music or bad....

how's the weather out there in the suburbs?

Tha block is hot, man ;)

that album is a banger, i don't give a fuck what anyone says.

I don't know if that means it's a good album or bad....

I do know that's it's one of my favourite Rap albums ever, though and probably one of the best.

My mistake, from the layout of my WMP I mustve mistaken 75 for 74, seeing as I don't have any albums from 74. Plus theres some errors in the CDs I burned from, such as Angel Dust supposedly being from 1999.

This decade is easily the worst for music, followed by the 90s. For me the only bright spot of this decade was the second half of last year with the new Metallica, GNR, and ACDC albums.

It seems as though no one is trying to make music that requires talent of any form anymore. Popular music is what these people are trying to make, since that is what the mainstream wants. The mainstream is settling for popular music instead of music that is good, that is why this decade has been horrible. Guitar solos are pretty uncommon now, lyrics are made to be easily comprehendable (even if that means they dont make sense), songs dont seem to exceed 4 minutes very long, and they all sound very similar.

I really wonder what people are going to be listening to in 10 years, I assume everyone is going to get really tired of this rap/hip hop phase.

people seriously need to lurk moar

this decade has seen some amazing albums

Chinese Democracy, Nymphetamine, Thornography, Angel Down, The Heoin Diaries Soundtrack, All Hope Is Gone, Come What(ever) May, Cocky, Rock N Roll Jesus

other than that nothin thats been really 'amazing' is comin to mind.... every fuckin ac/dc album sounds the same and its beyond excrutiatingly boring at this point.... didnt care for metallicas efforts...
