Injured Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler refuses to speak to rest of band

Revealing deeper problems for the rock legends than Tyler's injuries, guitarist Joe Perry says the singer only communicates with the band through his managers.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has not spoken to the rest of the band once in the two months since he fell off stage.

Revealing deeper problems for the rock legends than Tyler's injuries, guitarist Joe Perry says the singer only communicates with the band through his managers.

And hinting at even bigger, long-running tensions, Perry also complained about Tyler's reluctance to pen new tunes with him - with the once-legendary songwriting team not having written a new song together in 10 years.

"I'm down in my studio every day, writing, and for some reason he wants to write with people like (songwriter) Mark Hudson and whatever," Perry said. "I can't explain it."

Despite their obvious issues, Aerosmith must reunite to play a pair of shows in Hawaii, forced by a lawsuit filed by fans angry over the cancellation of a planned performance there two years ago.

Perry said: "I think we need more time to get everybody healthy and the whole thing, and see if Steven wants to be part of the band again."

It's not like they've done anything besides tour since '01 anyway. Do you really want more songs like "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing"?

Correct me if I'm wrong, no one in the band wrote that. Steven only did it because Liv made him watch the depressing scene of Armageddon.
