I swear, it's the same fucking deal every year with you retards - some rapper or soul singer gets nominated and the bitching and crying that they aren't "rock" enough ensues. Here's a history lesson: in the first year that they held the fucking thing, 1986, three out of ten artists were not what you would consider "rock musicians". Early inductions are dominated by R&B and soul legends like James Brown, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles and Marvin Gaye who basically paved the way for Rock n' Roll and Hip Hop. You could argue that Public Enemy and N.W.A have much more in common with these artists than the likes of Rush or Kraftwerk. Not to mention the G-Funk style of N.W.A was built on Parliament Funkadelic samples - another HOF inductee.Having said that it's primarily about which names will sell the most tickets at the dinner and I'm inclined to agree with the Sex Pistols assessment that it is a "piss stain."
