I like 2002 lineup better than old or current.

I can't judge the current lineup based on the fact they haven't released anything. I like Bumble and Fortus. Here's how it breaks down for me.

Favorites:

Lead guitar 1: Buckethead, then Bumblefoot, then Slash.

Lead guitar 2: Finck, then DJ.

Rhythm guitar: Fortus, then Duff, then Paul.

Drums: Freese, then Sorum, then Frank, then Adler, then Brain.

Bass: Izzy, then Tommy

It's easy. I prefer Ron's solo material to Slash's solo material. I do prefer Slash's Guns material to both though.

Damn it's so easy to forget how talented that 2002 lineup was. If Axl wasn't insane, we could've gotten some really cool music from that lineup.

I've said this before: Axl with the 2010 voice, 2006 looks and attitude and 2002 band (minus Finck, I would say) would've been incredible.

To be honest I like the band who created the music I like but this current band isn't good simply because Axl doesn't sound good. If Axl sounded like he did in 06 or in his hey day I would be optimistic about GnR.

I've always felt it's the singer who makes or breaks a band and really the singer determines how great a guitarist can become. That just me I guess.
