Maynard translates D.J. Ashba Interview

Recommended Posts

I won't translate the whole thing but here are the interesting parts:

Daren says he has never seen a setlist in his life. Shows are always different. Axl chooses the songs according to the public.

La Merda Vitta OBVIOUSLY will be featured in the new album. They are in no hurry to release it. Nobody is racing each other to finish songs.

BEST PART:

Interviewer: Does Axl work out? He's a lil chubby.

DJ: Never seen him working out too much

Nothing else is really worth translating.

I actually like his solo spots, The Ballad of Death in particular. But you're right, they do sound pretty similar. Maybe they'd work better as an actual song if combined into one?

If any of Djs material was used for Guns songs it would need a lot of work... right now, he's literally playing cheap porno music. When the guys finished with the song it probably wouldn't resemble what he originally brought to the table, I would be very pleased with that :)

Hope not. I just feel like the band are too lazy to work together.

Instead we might have Mi Amor, Ballad Of Death, Bella Vita, Pink Panther, Jesus Of Transilvania, Bond Theme, Going Down, Rosie, Seeker for the new album. But hey, they are no hurry to release it!

I'm sure it would get a lot of work. As it currently stands, they're pretty simplistic guitar solos with occasional piano and drum spots thrown in. I think in a more "complete" form they would sound pretty good, but maybe that's just me.

Well, that would be interesting. Weird, but interesting.

There's no point in combining them into one piece for the reasons you just mentioned. If anything, they need to choose one of them and tweak it. But I hope that won't ever be the case.

Update: As for the interview, I wanna travel to that wonderland where DJ is living.

You really can't make this shit up. This says just about everything one needs to know about the Axl Rose Experience.
