Scott Weiland Wants To Reunite Velvet Revolver 'For Easy Money'

Recommended Posts

This is the state of rock n roll now a days, I read scotts book (worst musicians autobiography Ive read) and he admits he only joined VR for the money. Seems like most bands look at things as a business and a job rather then an artistic outlet for themselves, sad but true. What happened to releasing albums for the sake of getting your music out to the fans for them to enjoy and connect to?

Id rather hear Scott admit its a cash grab then to bullshit us, but its still pathetic. Out of all the projects the original members of GNR have been involved in I liked VR the best, they kicked ass live and Contraband was a solid album with moments of magic. Im realizing that my fantasy of the original GNR reforming and releasing an amazing record comparable to AFD or UYI and reclaiming their throne in rock n roll is never going to happen... (cue military funeral music... lol)

Scott made it sound like Slash and Scott's wife had more of an interest in a lucrative major label deal and tour than they did Scott's well being. He's just happy they're all talking again and probably doesn't want to fuck it up.

As long as they're all alive there's always going to be a possibility of some sort of reunion.

Honest question. Do you have a favorite movie? That movie was made for profit.

Do you have a favorite restaurant? The head chef is doing it for money.

Do you have a favorite porn star? She's doing it for money.

Guess what? People use their talents and skills to make money.

Shocker, I know.

I can't stand Scott at all and I think he's a loser, but I don't have an issue with any musician saying that they're in it for the money. Isn't that the case for all of us when we go to work? If we're lucky we have a job we love and we can throw our heart into it, or we have a talent that we can use to earn a living, but we expect to get paid when we go to work. And these are adults, not kids in a garage band - they have rent to pay, families to feed and bills to settle, so it's no surprise that they want to make as much money as they can.

The best way to make money in rock n roll is to pretend its all about the music and build some kind of chemistry mystique with the fans.

It's a supergroup so it's kind of fake anyway. So it's okay to say because there's no real aura around VR.

I'd rather go see Slash with Scott than Slash with Myles.

Scott doesn't seem to take any shit (unlike Myles) but really, we know who we would all rather see Slash with, and it aint those 2.

Myles voice can be a bit grating at times especially if you listen to his music often.

I think Myles is insanely talented and songs like Back from Cali are killer songs. That said, he's not much of a frontman -- you can tell he came up as a jazz guitarist. It kind of reminds me of Chris Cornell in Audioslave... he didn't have much stage presence.

Myle's never really gets out of his safe zone, singing wise. I get it, you need to keep your voice for a grueling touring schedule, but it can start to sound like going through the motions eventually.

Scott screams and rolls around shirtless while interacting with Slash and the gang like he's possessed (when he's in the zone). I saw them on the Libertad tour in Vancouver and thought he was amazing -- no way could I watch Myles in an arena for 2 hours.

The easy money comment annoys me now I don't want VR to reunite with Scott

What else would it be but money? That's why some people want a GN'R reunion too.

Maybe for the love of the music or the band "easy money" comment shows his only real motivation

You think the GNR members who want a reunion only want it for the love of the music or the band? I certainly don't.

I'm not even sure how many GNR members really want a reunion Adler, Gilby, Matt?

And I'm sure the money is his biggest motivation for wanting a reunion.
