Hard rock hotel Vegas 2015? UPDATE: Nothing to see here...

The obvious problem is giving yourself an 18-month time line. Especially considering the band has barely been active over the last year.

Imagine you tell your boss that you've finished the Johnson report already and him telling you to turn it in within a week compared to saying "good, submit it to me sometime in the next 18-months."

18 months just gives you built in excuses to not finish it, and a huge time period to just sit back and relax and not work on it.

AGAIN

A couple years ago Axl said he had two albums in the can.

The band has barely toured the last few years.

They've had the last year off.

What in the world would he need 18 more months to do? Some bands - starting from scratch - write, record, release two albums in that time frame.

GnR once put out approximately 55 songs during a four-year period.

Now we have to wait 18 more months for an album that was completed years ago?

Is 18-months of Axl tinkering on Soulmonster going to make it a better song? All the other band members are out touring or working on their own projects, so it isn't like the band is together, hunkered away in a studio trying to create GnR magic.

We're talking about Axl sitting in his home studio, tinkering with songs. the very thing that really killed Chinese Democracy in most people's eyes.

I'd be money the 2003 version of Soulmonster and The General will kick ass over the 2017 version that finally gets released.

Now back to the topic about Hard Rock Hotel or Residencies, how much % does the hotel keeps when they tell GNR or any other artist to do a residency? I know GNR did a private show somewhere when they did the european tour, but how much does it costs to book them? Ron is doing small shows, I know many things are not just about money, but any idea how much would he charge for a private show?

If its like it used to be some years back, hotels take less of a cut from ticket sales because you're driving tourism to their restaurants, casino etc. Seems to me given the slot machine and so on that Guns maybe have some sort of wider deal with the Hard Rock.

As for BBFs charge for a private show, I bet it isn't very much. A few grand so long as you sort out his travel and accomodation. Just ask him, he sure as hell isn't a hard guy to reach out to, to his credit.

Yeah Travel and Accommodation is also necessary and many artists have their big demands like a first class ticket or a 5 star luxury suite, but I know Ron is not one of them, ill contact him when the time is right, I was just talking generally, whenever I get married, I want it to be a memorable experience, so I am ready to shell out around $5,000 to $10,000 including his charge with tickets and accommodation, If Izzy can somehow be contacted then I would pay $10,000 for him too, for Slash alone or with his band, I wouldn't go for more than $20,000 but the thing is when you call the band, you need to pay for all members accommodation, travel expensive, food, etc etc, plus they would have some crew members, so pay for that also, so you need big bucks for that.

But well talking generally my budget would be around $10,000 to $20,000 with including everything.

here is a list of musicians and their call out fees, some of them are fucking abnormal considering their small level of fame..

George Michael was charging a million bucks in 2007!

I think they should do listening parties in Vegas for their fanclub, play unreleased stuff as an excuse for fans to do a get together, do a meet and greet, and sell some old tour swag off. If they decide to play, great.

Ron is probably on "standby" until they find another guitarist, but if they did decide to book a festival and some dates around it, he'd probably go. I don't see GNR doing anything without some sort of announcement being made as far as replacing members goes.

Serious question: is any of the above not meant sarcastically? All this "they" stuff (they should do this, they should announce something, etc.)- who are you talking about? Obviously if "they" were an actual band they would do all these things: announce updates, listening parties, play festivals (that ship has sailed btw- unless we're talking State Fairs n' puppet shows)... but at this stage we're certainly talking about the decisions and actions of one guy who owns the name, not some sort of "they".

To me, GNR is a "they" when it's about the music and business.

I don't think all the decisions of GNR are just Axl's decisions or ideas he comes up with, esp. something like the Hard Rock residency, which he never would have done 20 years ago. Axl even said he was against paid meet and greets, so he doesn't always stand by what he says.

He seems to either go along with it or not. The only things he seems to dig in his heels on is the music itself and what time he decides to go on stage.

They have a fanclub they're expecting people to pay money for, they should be going out of their way for the fans, esp when there's nothing new on the way.

Jesus. Christ.

I guess I should expect it, but some of those numbers seem crazy to me.
