What do you think about the lyrics of the new Izzy's song FP Money?

Is he trying to send a message? Why does Matt Sorum plays specifically this song?

They can fight about it, money, some bag of gold.
They can fight about it, money, the big wheels roll.
And I’m taking the long way home today.
Really got no worries either way.
Cuttin’ deals, shakin’ hands,
hopin’ it feels, open plans.
They can fight about it, money, it’s just a bag of gold.
They can fight about it, money, feel the big wheels roll.
And I’m taking the long way home today.
Really in no hurry either way.
Open fields, open planes, open gates, open lands, open sky, open mind, open race.
They can fight about it, money, it’s a bag of gold.
They can fight about it, money, the story goes.

It's "makin' fighter pilot money, it's a band of gold" lol, hence the title F.P. Money. I really love the song, but I dont like the obvious GNR connection to it, makes me think we will never see Izzy have a guest spot. Might get Adler though

You're absolutely right, and I still thinking he says "they can fight about it (the) money the first time. Anyway still the same message. I share your feeling about the "special guest" thing. That killed my illusion.

if these songs are seen as shots at the reunion tour then that sours things. doesn't seem necessary from Izzy. But he always comments check out Take a Look at the Guy on the debut.

But Take a Look at The Guy isnt Izzy song right?

Ronnie Wood song.

I kinda doubt Izzy is singing about GNR. He hasn't been in the band since 1991, you really think he sits around thinking about them let alone write songs?

I think he does when they reunite and 3 originals form a partnership and start booking gigs without letting him in on it. Izzy was always very much into a reunion so even though he's never been reliable, it seems he really wants to be involved and he's not happy about being left out.

Think it's cover but it fits. Like Stuck in the Middle it just seems to fit.

I agree it's hard to believe he's still singing about GNR.

I would have said 14 years is about GNR somehow but it's about his ex gf?

Not what I read, i thought it was about the girl Andy McCoy stole from Izzy?

But Axl n Izzy sounds right but they duet on it. Pretty bizarre.

I've thought it's about Angela Nicoletti (now Angela McCoy) as well, but google says otherwise.

Anyway, dunno about the lyrics on these new Izzy tracks, but the songs are quite damn good even though the mixing/mastering isn't quite right.

Recently there was some new info on Izzy songs, suggesting Patience and 14 years about Nicoletti. I actually thought Patience was Axl lyrics and 14 years was about Izzy quitting GNR.

But throughout his solo career I think songs are about Axl n GNR. Like Jump in Now for example.

And this one from 117 i think.

What you cryin' about?

you got to let it go

you can't keep on cryin for her

c'mon man you should know

what you cryin' about?

Bleedin I think. But I just always think Izzy songs are about GNR. I mean that was his context and he kind of exists inside GNR. So maybe it's subconscious.

Everything that Izzy has written, sung, or tweeted about recently seems to be an artistic jab at Axl, Duff, and Slash.

^ This.

From what I read, and unlike Slash and Duff, Izzy is out of the GNR partnership, Axl bought the rights way back, so the problem was that Izzy wanted back, but was offered a different cut than the other two guys and said "no".

Again, from what I read, the first plan was to have Slash, Izzy and Fortus.

But to me, and I don't think he cares, he's just burning bridges, Sorum has been doing that since a long time and I think Steven have a better chance to come back as a special guest than him.

well I've read 14 years is about his parents who he felt stop caring for him when Izzy was 14 years old and sort of went back in his life at 28 and patience are Izzy's lyrics about a girl who left him I don't know if it's that Angela Nicoletti
