It is not market price if it is below what the market would have paid if offered up to the market. It sounds to me you are describing a product offered up at below market price, probably because it is subsidised. And I believe the CMHA do offer homes to those who cannot or will not pay market prices, and they can do this because the subsidy is paid for indirectly through tax money in an, ironically, capitalistic society. It might not have to be fixed in the sense that it stays the same year after year, but more likely to be discounted some way resulted in a below market price.

Thats a really neat guess. But is wrong.

SO much, perhaps even the key lessons of the life of Jesus, to me, were a specific rejection of the capitalist mode of thinking.

Tommy Robinson the nobody, with it he don't have to work, he don't have to do anything for a living, he's funded by supporters and backers, it's a career, it's a life for him.

I know some people who are on the good side of these issues who are funded by donation for their living. They tread lightly and often give up on some earnings in order to do the right thing. But then on The Robinson side they more of an asshole they are, the more their supporters love it. Its very lopsided about how the hate mongers get to conduct themselves and still manage to live of donations.

I should do a deep dive on Robinson. About time.

That Laura or Lauren bird is the same too, she was all over youtube making those race/muslim baiting vids then suddenly she disappears and 'oh don't worry youtubers, I'm making movies now, documentaries etc etc...so she's got herself a nice little earner out of all this youtube bullshit?

She started her public life as a cos player, ya know. Which, is so removed from her life as an agitator, I think really speaks to a 'one way or another they're gonna love me' attitude. She is a reasonably skilled debater and knows how to target the least informed and those with zero debate skills. On her recent speaking tour with some other shill he would just sit there with a strained expression every time she spoke, like "Please stop talking you moron!" vibes. Her new long form format is really exposing how vapid she is when not bullying students.

And she "stepped away from YT" right when that was the trendy thing to do. She's basically Hatred Barbie.

I really hate also that the notion of debate, discussion, these kinda muslim debates christian shit and such and such debates such and such shit has kinda degenerated to this playground level, you can see it in just the titles of videos 'BEN SHAPIRO EVISCERATES LIBERAL', or such and such 'DESTROYS CONSERVATIVE', its like people have taken the notion of debate from this exchange of information where two parties learn something and just turned it into this cheap WWE thing, its just pathetic and all it serves to do is expose the dishonourable motives of certain parties, shows what they're really about.  Its about winning, its about the satisfaction of thinking that you've made the other person look small in comparison to your towering force of reason, its cheap and it stinks.  When you are coming from that perspective you immediately devalue your own point because if your motives are not honourable how honourable can the information you present be?

Yessir! Hes a well trained debater. And he debates without moderation so he uses a lot of dishonest tricks and tactics. As you've well laid out its about the win not the exchange. Makes me sad that people are duped by this dick sock. He lays out a false premise that his audience doesn't even think to verify and then, surprise surprise he's able to demonstrate his straw man. And the video names... straight out of the misogynist spaces in porn and that creepy cartoon stuff. And its not coincidence that both forms are speaking to incels. Shapiro, like Peterson, are shooting fish in a barrel with their audience.

And often they're not geniuses either as it's often presented.  And by that I don't mean uneducated, I mean original thought, which to me is the true yardstick of like...that other level of intellect.  And people see it in a lot of people where it isn't there, people like Stephen Fry and Christopher Hitchens, both of whom are reasonably intelligent guys but it's just academia.  I don't mean to run down academia cuz I think education is the most important thing in the world but again, if Stephen Fry and Christopher Hitchens are presented as the best minds of a generation then I don't have a lot of hope for that generation.  And of course, they too have books to sell.

Yep, this sounds very familiar as well.

I think a key life skill is the ability to assess danger or dishonesty, the ability to look at someone and listen to them and discern whether or not you are being sold pink lemonade posing as love potion number 9.

I agree. What do you make of it? Are more people being duped these days? Or is it all just happening more publicly?

If the youtube cowboys were a little less greedy they would be able to mask their motives too but they rarely can, or do.

And clearly they don't even need to, sadly.

Right on, I'm gonna get myself more familiar with Robbins! Thanks!

Did you not want to answer my question on whether you use the term "capital" differently than how it is defined in economic theory?

He does that all the time.  When a question doesn't fit his narrative, he'll just ignore it.  I've asked him 2-3 times about how he feels about the Nordic system....and nothing but crickets.

Not really though.

You think that the Nordic model is a part of the conversation we were having. It had no direct connection. And after you failed to grasp anything I was saying you just ignored what I said and moved on to Nordic model.

Then comes Soulie Barging into a discussion with 'read this wiki page and then save me from my confusion. I really wanna debate you but Im displaying ignorance instead.' That doesnt get me going. And then he went on to be rude as he boldly displayed ignorance and made baseless claims. Which so does Peterson so it makes perfect sense that you would be drawn to that here as well. I guess instead of flat out ignoring it I should just move on and randomly ask about the Nordic model, eh?

And you saying this after I spent so much time engaging you is a real dick move. You are very confused about many things. I try and be patient. I guess I will unburden myself and call it how it is next time. ;)

I've explained why Peterson's quote was a simple, tongue-in-cheek remark that makes sense...in the simple way it was intended.   It was a light-hearted remark he made on Joe Rogan's podcasts months ago.  It's obvious it struck a nerve with you because you have spent hours dwelling on it and dozens of posts asking about it.  It's more than apparent that subconsciously, you know the quote is true, specifically because it points to people exactly like yourself.  You asked about psychology...and I happen to have a degree in psychology...so that's more or less what a psychologist could tell you about your rants on the subject. ;)

And the quote basically means that most folks that "think" they are anti-capitalists, really aren't.  That's all it meant.  Had nothing to do with people not liking portions of capitalism, big business, etc. You have been using defense mechanisms to twist and turn the quote into something it is not....which is some long debate on how you can own an iPhone and still be an anti-capitalist.

Again, how do you feel about the Nordic model?

Are you scared to say that the Nordic model seems to work?  Will that not fit within your "anti-capitalist" paradigm?

That's not really a gracious description of it, though. When discussing I have found that it always makes for a more constructive discourse when people have a shared understanding of what terms mean. So when I asked if your definition of "capital" deviates from the one used by economics and the public in general, as described on a Wikipedia page, that was simply to allow us to discuss and share opinions without crosstalking.

Nothing struck a nerve. The man is a moron with regards to politics and couldnt get a rise outta me. Im sad that you are unable to engage in real world thought, but youll always have YT, Fox News and Peterson to "inform" you.

Why on earth would someone think that an anti capitalist would have a poor impression of social democracy?  Your poor Murican brain!! And its not like I didnt speak in favour of a well regulated market, which lends itself to a tax and spend system.

U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!

It obviously has struck a nerve with you.  You've deflected questions and have resorted to name calling, putting down Catholics (fellow Christians), making fun of Americans and the mentally challenged, all in the same thread.  Jesus must be thrilled with you.  Well done.

Catholic Church Brings In New Perspective On Solving Abuse Scandal With Appointment Of Toddler Bishop

mwatvqzxzidqdaiefflf.jpg

VATICAN CITY—Hoping to gain new insights into the church’s sexual abuse problem by directly empowering those most likely to become its victims, Pope Francis announced Tuesday that he had elevated a 2-year-old boy to the position of bishop. “We’re confident Bishop Timmy can help us make real, systemic progress in addressing this issue,” the pope said following the toddler’s ordination mass, during which the new bishop drank from a chalice of consecrated Juicy Juice and was given liturgical vestments that included both a white linen snap-bottom onesie and a too-large mitre that kept slipping down his forehead. “For years, we’ve ignored the needs of these poor children, and now it’s time to give them a real voice within the clergy. His Excellency Timmy, who can speak at least 50 words and reproduce the sounds made by many of God’s creatures, will be that voice. I’m pleased to report several older clergymen have already volunteered to provide our youngest-ever bishop with one-on-one attention to ensure he is fully prepared for the role.” At press time, the new bishop was reportedly turning heads at the Vatican with his controversial decision to chew on a nearby crucifix.
