But the lyrics just don't do much for me. HS is a better song to me overall, better lyrics, catchy chorus and I like the montage/credits rolling vibe (in lack of a better word) of it. They should have pitched HS to a movie production, it's cinematic, good stuff. If I had to choose between being only able to listen to IRS or Absurd, Hardskool, Perhaps, Monsters and The General ever again, I'd probably pick IRS. Not joking.
Kickingthehabit
The songs are joyless. Even if you force yourself to look at them through some kind of academic lens, as soon as you put on the new Rolling Stones song, you realize our boys are fucking up. No groove, no riffs, no hooks. WTF. 2
Sweersa
CD2, as it existed pre-NITL was probably pretty rad, as good, if not a little better than the 2008 album. CD2, with NITL's contributions, will be a notch or two below the above in quality, which was especially apparent with Hard Skool, both musically and from a production standpoint. Perhaps, far less so. They did this one more justice than the others. We have not heard a proper or official mix of Monsters and The General yet. So the jury is still out on that, but I'd be willing to bet the Buckethead/Robin versions are significantly better.
