ChristmasFnatic
Just weird that after the second chorus, it suddenly goes to the end. Still a great song though.
Jwalker19
I can see what you're saying. DTJ hasn't ever been a favorite of mine, but I can see why people like it. Just not my cup of tea. I wish Izzy sang it live though. I have no idea why he didn't.
Rovim
You're not listening to it correctly. Here's the other half of the song:
D-GenerationX
Agree 100%. I find it to be half a song. Like they wrote what they wrote and said, fuck it.

Val22
Love this song! Love when Axl rants!I know it just goes off into a guitar solo, but the solo sounds so awesome! It sounds like two songs in one.
Nosaj Thing
For me, it's a big instrumental where Axl has the opportunity to rant a bit. The outro is awesome, especially live. I loved how Slash changed the outro every single time he performed the song during the UYI tour.
Gordon Comstock
I don't think it was really a "half" song but I get what you're saying. I always kind of thought of it as an 'intro' song, on the album the solo leads into November Rain, and live, Axl could do his rant/intro, play the song, then the solo morphed into the Voodoo Child/Civil War intro. Rovim
Great song, I love it.As Nosaj said, Slash always had something new and interesting to say with his guitar when they've played it. Axl nailed it vocally many times live as well.

DieselDaisy
Without Stradlin's input on Illusion, Illusion would consist of boring ten minute long Axl ballads. The only songs with any grease on them are in fact the Izzy numbers. 14 Years is greasier than a chip wrapper.

Rovim
the very definition of FILLERHow people define music is just their own need to compare and label what is "the best" and what is weak, in their eyes. It helps them get attached to THEIR favorite shit, when in fact music is just sounds. The only real definition imo should be: I like it, or I don't like it. It's good to my ears, and it makes me feel something, or it's shit and I can't relate to it.Just insecure people and their weak attempts at taking something as chaotic as music, which is a reflection of the human mind, thoughts, and emotions, which are chaotic as shit, and trying to organize all of it and get rid of the disorder cause they feel weak without control over it, over everything. Less scary with more control. It's a bunch of sounds a few people recorded and it's not supposed to be rated like that imo. It's a form of communication. Like I don't give scores to sections of conversations with people I meet everyday. Like that was filler, cause it wasn't AS interesting or funny or important as that other line that person said to me. It's all important, cause it's all a reflection of the person and what he or she tried to say.tl/dr: the whole is greater then the sum of it's parts. The smaller parts matter. In this case, for you, Double Talkin' Jive. Edited August 18, 2014 by Rovim
