If you think about it... I bet you can judge exactly how this whole enterprise is going to play out by the opening scream on WTTJ on April 8th.

At what point does being down to earth, low-key and humble become total disregard for fans and the people who support/supported you. I mean he doesn't owe people anything necessarily, but at the same time if you put out albums, have this musical career and subsequent following.... shouldn't you want to do stuff for your fans to some extent?
Frustrating is the word! I guess the state of the music industry right now isn't very compelling from his perspective. But 20 some shows isn't exactly a pound of flesh. Being comfortable 24/7 isn't good for you anyhow haha.

Wise words from Petty! Class act, man.

But Izzy.... I love you.
Seriously though, please write new songs with them Izz man. I get that touring is a grind and you don't need money so that's fine.... but you love to write!

I wouldn't say you're being stupid but there is zero chance they will play serial killer. Which by the way, imo is the most over rated Slash song of all time..
They should leave Fall To Pieces alone too. I don't want to hear the bands side projects and that includes CD songs. We have had the last 25 years to hear all that stuff.
Is it just me or has Fall to Pieces aged really poorly?
I still like a lot of the album tracks on Contraband, slow ones like You Got No Right included.... but FTP I haven't wanted to hear in forever.

Thinking about Slash and Dizzy seeing eachother again for the first time makes me cringe. Awkward handshake...
I don't think they had a relationship period.
He also made some little jabs at VR back in the day:
"I say good luck, and I hope they have a good time — and they should enjoy it 'cause Izzy'll probably quit in a couple of weeks," the 39-year-old Reed told United Press International.
"I think some of those guys really go complacent," Dizzy continued.

I feel like we have a GNR musical in the making with all these song cues.
Fact is being a fan of this band is startin' to seem like nothing but a Bad.....
... a bad time. Actually it's pretty great. Carry on.

I just hope he stops doing that thing in WTTJ where he licks his fingers after 'You're a very sexy girl'.

Just watched the big Eagles doc a few days ago and Azoff comes off as just such a prick the way he dealt with Don Felder.
Not a fan!
Him and Frey.... Squeeze a guy out over money, poison the band atmosphere / legacy and tarnish an amazing musical relationship (regardless of if you like the Eagles or not haha) for a few more million and now you're dead and most of it is going to be pissed away by benefactors. What's the point of that? What are we living for, people?!

That's the kind of attitude that gave Glenn Frey and Don Henley their toxic personalities haha (writing credit as the sole measure of a musician's worth)... a truly timeless band can't just start cutting off limbs while retaining the personality that people fell in love with.
Steven! Steven! Steven! USA! USA! Wait what

Adler is gonna hurt himself if he's not involved.
If this thing has any artistic and musical merit then he'll be there in some form or fashion.

I know it's a loaded song with respect to GNR history but if Fortus is the rhythm guitar it'd be cool to see them do Sympathy for the Devil! With the twin solo. Something new and old at the same time...

Eddie man,
Do you think Vancouver BC would make the list?
Sometimes we get left out and Toronto is the only Canadian date for big tours....
But Van Halen, The Police, U2... lots of big tours sell huge numbers here... do multiple nights. NuGNR was here, Slash is always here, UYI GNR was here... I really don't want to drive to Seattle haha.
-
Slash is so much better as a guitarist from a technical standpoint than the UYI tour. Just insanely better. Not that he was held back or anything by it but it'll be so cool to hear him tear into some of these songs like NR for the first time since '93.
-
I wonder if it'd be beneficial for Axl to tune down... from Eb to D.... that might be cool if it meant easier raspage and power.
Sounds kinda heavy in a cool way. Older, wiser? Nightrain @ 7:15 sounds ballsy as hell!
-
Eddie money is in the tickets to paradise business......
Awwww yea.

I really don't think GNR are a stadium band. The UYI tour when they were at the peak of their powers... but not now.... Metallica are bigger than them and they do arenas. A stadium tour would almost suggest to me they'd be trying to get by on spectacle and size.
-
I wonder if they'll have a whole new stage design or if it'll be the NUgnr setup? Hopefully the former. Something a little more stripped down like the Zep Celebration Day would be awesome.
-
Do you guys think this will be pro-shot? I assume there's not been any official word. It'd make a cool DVD obviously... but I hope it's not just gonna be shitty amateur vids. I feel like these shows will be more fun to watch than Coachella for big GNR fans.

What guitar parts on TWAT are Axl?? Edit: Didn't mean to be redundant .
Axl should play guitar on a song during the reunion... show off his chops. He must be pretty good by now!
-
It's still crazy when you hear Steven refer to "What happened," (on Stern) how his voice gets serious... and we keep hearing that SOMETHING HAPPENED and it wasn't some girlfriend bullshit.... from lots of different sources. And nobody dares to elaborate.
I wonder if we'll ever know.
-
I liked that Pat Boone Debbie Boone drum fill story, haha.
-
Axl will call me, eventually. And yeah, I would speak to him.
Just make sure to let it ring a few times... play it cool...

2200 dollars for GA on stubhub.... sounds about right...
I really gotta hear Axl before I buy into this thing...

I like Duff's book just because you really hear his voice... it's him. Very personal.
Slash's was good but I felt like Anthony Bozza was coming through quite a bit.
