  1. It's still punishing the citizens for their government. Yes it's simply the same, that's why I used the word principle repeatedly. Well, I guess principles sometimes only apply when convenient in current situation. Anyway, gotta go.
  2. It was initially about the UAE, not Iran or financial sanctions against Russia, plus I was talking about athletes, but that doesn't matter. You can dance around it, but the principle still stands: punishing citizens collectively for their government, yes or no. I think I made my point, over and out.
  3. You said it yourself: "What good has the extensive boycotts of that country done? If we truly want to nudge a country in the right direction we need communication and interaction, not exclusion and boycotts." Again, the principle is still the same: punishing ordinary citizens for their fascist government’s conduct. Whether it’s Arabia or Russia doesn’t matter; you either agree with it or not, no cherry-picking.
  4. I wish Metallica fans could see what they’re getting from their band through our eyes. Any time any of them would complain about anything in the future, all they’d need to do is look at it from a GN’R hardcore fan’s point of view, and I guarantee nobody would complain about anything ever again. "Holy shit, how lucky are we?! Take a look at those poor bastards over there in the GNR camp!"
  5. I, too, think the Russian athletes should be allowed to all those games and Olympics etc.
  6. I’d add this: - Not bothering to address the fact a new record was promised by the "manager" 3 or 4 years ago, never to be mentioned again (logic and courtesy would suggest some communication here). - Not bothering to address the fact new singles were promised by Slash for last summer, never to be mentioned again (logic and courtesy would suggest some communication here).
  7. "I wonder if Hitler ever sang this song to himself when he was a kid. This is called 'Live and Let Die'." Axl, Austria 92
  8. Awesome. Axl is really pissed off there for a moment, but it's yet another moment destroyed by camera editing. Still, the energy is strong with this one, hope for the rest.
  9. Oh good, the Covid thing again. Too bad the same didn’t work for other artists who have released albums during and since. But it definitely was the cause in GNR's case, plus Axl had strep throat for three years, he also got sued by Tracii Guns, his former manager threatened him, there was a traffic jam in Malibu, there are issues with the venues of the upcoming brand new tour, the studio where they wanted to record a new album burned down, Melissa has been sick, and in general, plans changed, and the Covid thing slowed things down so much it’s only normal what’s currently happening, i.e. nothing. Thank god we can see through this and it’s so clear.
  10. I could write so many things, but let's just stick with this silly simile and say that if 2016 was 1987, then we're now in 1994...
  11. Never had anything against that Axl's reggae. You spoiled internet bastards. Twas the 90s!
  12. Yeah. I know, they are always vague, dangling all these carrots, but still...
  13. Man, I hope not. That would contradict everything they've been on about since '16. It would make them utter bullshitters.
  14. I wonder why they’re doing – according to Slash – yet another "summer" tour and only then want to focus on the album. I mean, sure, we could ascribe this to the never-ending cash-grab thing, but there must be at least some elementary logic, even if just for Slash and Duff to cope with yet another NITL year. I could easily take the cynical approach here, but maybe, just maybe... Could it be they want to start something exciting and gradually add material to the playlist, maybe sort of test the waters? But then, why would they have chosen Silkworms as the first foray, right? I just hope this year won’t be just NITL with a new cover and a different deep-cut. One new song is the least they can do, especially considering it was promised for last summer (never to be addressed again, of course). I’m being naive here, aren’t I.
  15. Ikr? In fact, all logic would suggest that after 6+ years of this goddamn tour, a normal band would release a DVD. Furthermore, the same logic would suggest that the band would want to look good on that DVD, which in our case means they’d choose some 2016 show, when it was still fresh and Axl could actually sing. It blows my mind when I realize the Tokyo 92 DVD (VHS) was released 10 months after it was recorded - 10 months after the very show. And considering it took them some 30 years to release another video from that same tour (Ritz 91), I reckon we may expect a NITL DVD around the year 2050. Courtesy of Fernando’s children, bad sound, songs missing, probably not even something from 2016. Cool!
  16. I think there was Neil Young somewhere in it. And Axl talked about him later on Kimmel iirc. Saying he was a powerhouse.
  17. Fair point, I guess I just see stuff like this as possibly jeopardizing his willingness to do anything. (Nobody spook him etc., you remember the Mtv 02 rehearsal interview bit with that engineer/promoter? Yeah, that vein I mean.) Also, if the CD hadn’t already been ready (and him wanting it released), who knows what his reaction might have been, if those things were really in his hands. Just conjectures here of course.
  18. Indeed. But did it really correlate? Look at how he reacted to the pre-CD leaks. Idk.
  19. I think that would butt-hurt Axl for another twenty years. On the other hand, we might get a quality rant or two out of it.
  20. We don't know what's out there. They used over 10 studios for CD. I doubt all that just to fiddle with the Village stuff. New songs plus something from the 90s could also be possible, for all we know. The so-called insiders mostly get to a bit of information once or twice, which inflates their egos, and then they're just full of shit. Screw them. In any case, Axl needs a proper kick in the ass, and Beta clearly won't do.
  21. Not to me, but to each their own I guess. Songs like Bad Obsession would be a way better - and wiser - choice in any case imo.
  22. With mickey Axl? No thanks. I'd prefer Bad Obsession or at least PTU, although there's also some rasp.
