In any case, StubHub is owned by Ticketmast which is insane to me. Due to Ticketmaster owning the most prominent scalping site, tons of tickets end up on Stub Hub well before real fans get a chance to buy them at face value.

That is not true. Stubhub is owned by Ebay. Ticketmaster has their own reseller site though. Or they used to have, now they let resellers sell their tickets directly on the Ticketmaster-Website.

Axl and GN'R are giving us a service (a live performance), we are paying them for the service and thats it. Everything else is out of our control. So blaming ourselves for anything Axl does is pointless and self-destructive.

We are the ones that kept Axl in business. What do you think would happen with their service if none of us would take it?? They would have to change the service they offer or stop.

We aren't responsible for shit. If you have a problem with Axl then direct it to him. Don't ever try and blame the fans. Absolutely ridiculous.

If you really look at it, he's not wrong though. We're the one that kept supporting him doing what he does. If all of us would have stopped supporting him financially (buying his albums, tickets and merchandise), he would have had to make some changes. But probably he would have just stopped then.

I guess they take adventage of fact the LV audience is rich people, and most international audience too. And this is detrimental to regular fan .

And by far not everyone going to Las Vegas is rich. I would bet that the big majority of people going there are average people. Not everyone in Las Vegas is a high roller.

Would you feel better, if they would have made it "private"? I mean no public listing, no formally "part of the tour"? Why do they have to decline an offer due to some what... price ethics? So, seems the problem is that they listed it as a regular show, but the price is far from regular, that's it?

It is a fucking regular show. Just in Las Vegas. Acts are doing shows left and right in Las Vegas. There is no need to find excuses for a band that charges even more outragous prices than others. There are also acts who play in Las Vegas and have tickets that are affordable. And if GNR insists on their arena profits, well then they should just fucking play in a fucking arena.

Exactly! I can't get all these complains about the pricing of the show at Colosseum at Caesars Palace which are completely unjustified - it is a PREMIUM venue at a luxury hotel in Las Vegas. These shows aren't made fore regular fans, they are for stars and millioners who like GnR and can easily afford it. It's some sort of intimate shows by invitations (Like Apollo), but this time "invitation" means you have to afford it. And it would be sold out as "GnR in Caesars Palace" is a huge and trendy deal. That's unfortunate - yes - but doesn't mean a "cash grab", "the band is greedy" and other stuff. Probably, the price was set by the hotel, not the band, because Colosseum is OWNED by Caesars Palace - one of the most legendary hotels in Vegas. If all the tour prices will be the same, it would be fair to bitch them for it, but I doubt that they will, so we have just to accept the fact that it is not a regular show in terms of an attendence.

You can make excuses all you want. The bottomline still is, this band is greedy as fuck and cares about no one but themselves. They could have declined to do this show.

I remember the old days of camping out at the mall waiting on Ticketmaster to open in the morning to get good seats. Nothing was online back then. I did that for an Aerosmith show when I was 16, was first in line outside, but when the doors opened I got shoved into the glass windows and there was a mad rush through the department store to the ticket office, only to have the ticket machine breakdown and be told to go to another mall for my tickets. 🤬  I ended up with nosebleed section tickets. I wrote the local concert promoter a letter of complaint and got 4 festival tickets free the next time they came to town.

    Things have really changed....😊

Well, so it's a mix of back in the day everything was better and worse. Good for you for complaining though. Sometimes that does pay off.

Someone else mentioned that and all I can do is be envious. Ticketmaster, Live Nation and those companies are allowed to get away with murder here in the US :(

Well. The thing is also, there are way more seated concerts in the US. So way more reason for them to jack up prices. An people being particular in what ticket they get. In Europe, apart from the UK, it's mostly sitting and standing. No seated floors, although lately, as these artists and their audience get older (and supposedly more fluent), more seated concerts have creeped up. You just need to get a general admission ticket and you can get to the front if you really want. And the people who sit, usually don't care that much either way. As the "real" fans usually wanna stand and get as close as possible. If the majority of my concerts would be seated, I would have given up long ago already.

I saw recently on Instagram that Tako said she had worked over 30 years as a engineer in cancer research and now she is able to enjoy life. She shares her adventures online with the fans and takes great pics. All the whining seems more like jealousy to me. 😏

Well, forgive me for questioning the state of mind of someone who's idea of enjoying life is standing in front of a stage or concert venue for 300 days in 3 years. I personally love the concerts but really hate all the waiting around that is involved. I love to travel, but I'm also glad once I'm back home again. Of course, after a while I can't wait to go out again, but I need breaks and other stuff to do in between. I question someone doing that nonstop, let alone watching the same show day in day out. Doing the same shit 5 times a week. 4 weeks a month. 12 months a year and that going on the third or whatever year. That's all.

    Yeah, you’re stretching my words.

But whatever, I’ll enjoy the shows I see and you can sit behind a keyboard and cry about them on a forum if you want. :shrugs:

No need to get pissy now. I did see my fair share of shows and I did my fair share of travelling. But there are still worlds of difference. And yes, I will give my opinions on things. That's what forums like these are for. If that pisses someone off, I really couldn't care less.

There's no need to 'agree to disagree' on this stuff. You can google and read all about it - in fact, if you really want 'proof' that this goes on, I'll provide it via the emails offering free tickets which I still have. It's fact that the illusion of high demand is created by a ticket selling economy that has been monopolized by one company. (Ticketmaster/Live Nation are one and the same).

Yeah. I would like to see that. As I have a hard time believing that official channels really would give tix away for free.

But maybe one day they’ll get out of the Live Nation contract and the prices can level out some. Until that happens, I don’t see the prices changing much.

Yeah. All Live Nations fault. Once they have a different promotor prices will be like 2014 again.  If you believe that....

I saw her before the SMKC show I went to last year, and she had a bunch of people with her. This was in the afternoon, hours before doors opened. No one else there in line except her and her entourage. Plus she just takes pics and video the whole time so what's with that?

Yeah. Like I said, when you're at every show you get to meet people and you get to know people. But still. That's not her "entourage". It's just that other people on their own go to multiple shows too.

Looking forward to the ashes this year DD. 🙂🏏

Because quite simply they can. This isnt like the 70s where the average ticket price for big named bands was under $10.00.

Because there are people paying it obviously, which was my original point.

Doubt that, this band would never "give" anything away to the fans, even when most of the business is.

They would have to charge more if they would do that. :P

I can understand people complaining about ticket pricing, but why drag fans into the conversation just because they are able to afford going to a lot of shows. It's their money and they should be able to spend it how they please. I have gotten to know Margott pretty well on Nightrain and she is actually a very nice lady that just happens to love GNR. Nothing wrong with that at all. 😕

Nobody ever said that they are not nice. Just people like that, who pay any price and always go for the most expensive packages are the ones who drive the price up. The band is asking what the market is willing to pay. People like that are the market.

People keep save money during 4 years just to go see world football coup and travelling on everywhere part of the world. Football fans are worst that GNR fans. Here the issue is the high prices, isn't judge other fans. I want clear that i never would see any show, just not need ridiculize other fans.

This is not an issue of who's worse. To some Football is what to us is GNR. So whatever... both have nutty fans. Just a matter of perception of who's "worse".

Not disagreeing one bit that the prices are outrageous. I'm considering going to Louder Than Life in Louisville. $160 per ticket (4 pack). I'd get to see GNR and about 50 other bands for less than seeing GNR by themselves.

Yes. And that's a way to beat them. See them at Festival shows.
