Thats a very solid point about legendary bands that do reunion tours. I'm a huge Fleetwood Mac fan and we've haven't seen new music out of them since 2003. Now they're doing another tour...without Lindsay Buckingham :( and they're are talks of new music being laid down. But anyways, its a solid point, so many bands in that category tour without new music and just their name alone sells out arenas and stadiums. If the formula works, then why try changing it?

Because really, if we face the truth, only a small minority goes to these shows for new songs. In most likelyhood said new songs never will live up to the hits and in most cases, the new songs take the place of the tested and tried hits, so less of what people want to see and more of the stuff that might not live up to the hits. Of course, in GNRs case it's different. They could just drop a couple of covers and play new songs instead.

Yikes, sounds miserable. I really respect those who go through all that for our band. But reading this thread makes it clear that its not for me.

Well. That is a worst case scenario. Usually I've always been able to get out and get back. But once the show starts you usually forget about the problem. Well, shows that are not 3 1/2 hours long. ;) I was fine for 2 hours, but from Slash's solo on it kinda got tedious and it dragged on a bit. But either way it was worth it. Rather explode than give up a front row center spot.

Based on the UK periscopes, apparently one just pees in a bottle and throws it at strangers. It seemed like both parties were pretty happy.

Yeah. I was close to doing that in Madrid, minus the throwing of course, as people really were standing from the moment we were let inside and there was no way to leave my front row spot and come back. Going out even would have been a problem. And I kinda felt the need to go to the toilet at 18:00 and they played until midnight.

Also.. If you know, then what about the early entry guys? Don't they block the front row? Or is there only a rather small amount of EEs?

No. Those fuckers usually block it all. And they also think they own that spot with no one of the peasants being allowed to get in that row. Even if there is still space available. Only once in a blue moon you find someone letting you join that row. The only shot at front row is way on the sides, in front of the screens.

the only positive thing here maybe is, that even this bored nostalgia cash grab thing is better than 2011 1996 - 2014 dark era.

    Fixed that for you.

My pro is the tour happening. Seeing it all unfold and them all seemingly getting along and the change of attitude in Axl's demeanor.

My con is them not being able to work something out with Izzy and Steven, and/or as a backup Gilby and Matt. Didn't really want Fortus, Ferrer and Reese being part of this tour and thus I continue to ignore them when going to the shows. The other con is the ticket prices, fucking "VIP" packages and "Early entry". Fuck that shit. Seeing from where GNR originally came from, it's a disgrace.

I remember people saying back in the day how multiple legs of the tour (especially NA and SA) did very bad while others used to contradict it. How well did the whole tour do in general?

Geez. That tour lasted 10 years. So what do you mean? Overall, all things considered, it did quite well, with attendances softening off in the later years. No wonder, since there was no new music and the novelty wore off.

  7. Yeah. I really like to think that it's the fact that Slash and Duff are back in the band. That it's the feeling of having his band back and that things are somewhat right again in that not all the heavy lifting is lying on his shoulders and that GNR is on top of the world again. But looking at him, I wouldn't be surprised if it's also the right meds. His behaviour on stage is just day and night. I've really started to like the guy again. His waving and reacting and responding to people during the show. During Coma, after "I never really wanted to live" the guy next to me yelled, "Axl, I love you." and Axl was responding "And I love you too.". Just amazing to see the seemingly grumpy and never quite content Axl behave this way.

2 months?! Damn. And no shipping fee even if abroad? I checked, and it doesnt charge me any.

    Yep.

Should have read more carefully. The items? Didn't have any item the first time I joined them. For the second, joined in November of last year and got the items about 1 - 2 months ago. Yeah, I don't think there were shipping fees, just whatever the membership did cost.

As for tickets, like I said, it really depends on which seller they are going with. It's different from country to country. Usually you can choose.

Hello. Sorry for the bump, but I got some questions about Nightrain membership.

    1. The pre-sale code, can I choose any seats or is it randomly chosen for you?

    2. To anyone not from US and joined, how long before you got the items?

    THANKS!

    1. It depends on who is actually selling the ticket. You don't buy it at GNR, you just need the code to unlock the password protected sale on whatever service they've chosen to do the presale with. Could be Ticketmaster, Eventim, See, Ticketone, whatever company who sells the tickets in the region.

    2. You get the code right away. You just have to log in and check out your membership page, should be there.

I've been thinking a lot about that too.

At first I thought what Axl said was cool. I was thinking he was taking a stand against Apple. My guess now is that they just didn't as much money for the exclusive as they wanted lol

Well, money talks and bullshit walks. I find it ridiculous that they made a 31 year old video an apple exclusive. Why not just release on the gnr website? That said, can't wait to somehow see the full thing.
