I'm just saying that that's the sort of thing Adler does that pisses them off. He can't keep his mouth shut one way or another and while they're in the midst of doing a secretive countdown promotion he's telling people what it's going to be. Wouldn't that be frustrating if you're the people trying to get people hyped for a surprise announcement?
Agreed. But if they want that, they simply should treat him differently. Again, he proved for 1+ year that he can shut up, when he is treated right (or he thinks he will be treated right). The moment he realizes they are just stringing him along, his good will (and silence) is gone. So really, instead of getting mad at him, they should get mad at themselves.

He is close. He'll be playing with Slash kid in a couple of days, two shows, as far as I am concerned.
I am one to think that Steven has known this for a long time, hence his words about Fernando having great ideas for the AFD30 anniversary.
HOWEVER, whether he knows it or not, whether he's got all details to it or just a rough idea about it, it does not justify to have a fan like Modano09 going all ape, mounting an SCANDAL and insulting Steven only because Steven replied to a question from a journalist
Agreed. But still this goes back to the fact that he is not a part of it and didn't get a memo on what this box set would be and that it would be cool to not talk about it before May 4th.

He's going on an Appetite for Destruction tour two weeks after the re-release of Appetite for Destruction. I think he has a general idea what they're doing.
That could be a pure coincidence. And really, what kind of tour could he do otherwise?? The Dark side of the moon tour???

Adler is very close to Slash, I doubt he does not know nothing about it.
Right. We see how close he is to Slash almost every day. Seriously, whatever closeness they once had, most likely, is long gone. Otherwise things would be different.

Yeah, right?!

I'm sure he's gotten some sort of notification that his performances are being re-released and he'll be getting royalties for them. At the very least if you knew they were re-releasing your performances wouldn't you call someone to make sure you're getting the money you're entitled to? It's just very hard to believe that he's entirely in the dark and just throwing out speculation.
Well you don't get the definitive word on whether he's been informed or not. And just because you believe he's been informed, doesn't make it so and doesn't give you the right to attack him and hold it against him for supposedly spoiling the surprise.

Well they didn't think of and whip up a box set last week, it would have been discussed and planned and worked on for quite a while. I'm sure he's heard something about it. Especially since he's going to be financially connected to it. It's just hard to believe he's just speculating like he has no connection to it at all.
You said it yourself that they don't have to ask his permission. So they don't need to notifiy him. And apparently he's burned all bridges and since maybe they are miffed at his comments, they probably don't see a reason to tell him and haven't done so. Even though he has a right to say whatever he wanted to say.

Isn't some sort of box set with stuff from the vault what people were asking for for years now? But now that people decided they wanted something else it's "pathetic".
It's pathetic the way they announce it. Other bands have a statement on their website saying this and that will be released on the so and so. And that's it. They don't have a world wide mystery campaign full well knowing that there are stilll hundreds of thousands of fans hoping for a real reunion. The way this thing is rolled out is pathetic. Let alone that it is 1 year late.

He was playing with and hanging around GNR, he's obsessed with Appetite and his performances are going to be used, which is going to get him paid - I find it hard to believe he has no idea and is just speculating like he's an in the dark fan.
What you find hard to believe is of no consequence, really. I rather believe what he says, than what you believe. And last he played with them was 1 and half years ago.

You not giving a fuck doesn't equal "nobody" giving a fuck.
I don't give a fuck either. I think this whole hoopla and getting hopes up of naiive fans, just to announce a stupid box set of catalog stuff, is pathetic.

Oh he knows what it is. He might not have the tracklist but he knows what it's going to be. And it's still not that hard for him to pretend he doesn't or give a "you'll see Friday".
You are pulling this out of your ass, because you love to trash Steven. You do not a have a clue what he knows or what he doesn't know.

1 minute ago, Modano09 said:
Or he's dead. I mean Slash and Duff were on the brink of death at times and they were apparently more in control than Adler was.
Yeah. Or maybe he would have gotten his shit together, knowing someone roots for him, instead of his "brothers" abandoning him and them having lawsuits back and forth. We don't know what would have been.

And "speculation" isn't the same as the former drummer who's contributions will be included in that box set confirming it while they have a countdown and GPS game going on to promote the announcement.
He didn't confirm it. Are you really too thick to understand that??? He said what he thinks it is, but he wasn't sure.

That some people like to act like Adler was treated unfairly because he was no worse, then or now, than the rest of them. But he was and the 25 years of continuing to be a trainwreck supports why they fired him.
Well, maybe Steven's story would be different, had he not been fired. I mean, look at Dave Mustaine, even though he has carved out a spectacular career for himself, he was still bitter about and not getting over being kicked out of his band even 30 years later.

Sure because Adler was the only one actually kicked out gives him the right in his mind to play the poor me card.... I doubt it was an easy thing to do to kick out Adler. I don't see Izzy playing the "poor me card". Izzy simply wants what GnR won't give him.
Izzy wasn't fired. Izzy left. Big difference.

how sure are u??? are they that dicks to promote each individual original member and not include them in any capacity for the upcoming tour
SEEMS A BIT FAR FETCHED OUT OF REALITY YET POSSIBLE = AXL CRAZY FUCKING ASSHOLE
After all I've seen. I'm pretty much convinced that we will see no original member stepping on stage with them in the near future. At this point it also wouldn't make any sense.

Guys its either one of 2 things or else GNR are completely tone deaf and will succumb to fizzling out
1. Full bore reunion that adler is not aware of yet
2. full bore reunion and he's actually playing it cool/acting
It's 3. None of the above.

Well I mean, Axl didn't have a substance problem, Izzy got sober, Duff and Slash nearly died and cleaned themselves up, and Adler spent 25 years continuing to be an embarrassing trainwreck pointing the finger at everyone else. So of the 5 he does seem like the worst.
And your point is? They were and are all fuck ups one way or the other, but all of them have different circumstances and really, who cares who cleaned his act up first?

He's going to get some money for it. They don't need his permission and he has no say in what they do with it but if they're using his performances he has to be getting something from it. Izzy wasn't the smartest in how he left GNR either but even he knew not to give up his publishing rights.
Yes. Obviously he's getting money. But that's all he gets. He gets no information on what they are planning to do with it.

2 minutes ago, Modano09 said:
Or! Maybe Adler continuing to be a trainwreck for 25 years after they threw him out suggests that maybe he had a serious drug problem after all?
Yeah. Whatever. We can speculate till the cows come home. Fact is, both sides get what they deserve. None is really better than the other.

He was a member of the original 5 who did get kicked out because he became too difficult. Given every members difficulty, I can only imagine what Adler was like to get kicked out.
Right. Or maybe was it just that the drummer's the easiest to get rid off? I mean, they can't kick out Axl, because he's difficult. They can't kick out Slash, because he's difficult. They didn't and wouldn't kick out Izzy. And Duff probably wasn't difficult, he just was drunk. So really, the fact that only the drummer got kicked out, means nothing.
4 minutes ago, Modano09 said:If they're re-releasing music that he wrote/played on, he has some idea what it's going to be. He might not have been included in the creative process but he has some idea what it is, he's not just some dude speculating. Either way, it's common sense - which he clearly doesn't have - that if they're doing a secretive count down and promotion for something they likely don't want it spoiled two days beforehand.
Not if he gave up all his rights. I doubt he has the power to veto a release and thus I don't think they have to ask him to release something. Also Mitch Lafon is doing much more spoiling than Steven. And really, any thought that this might be a real reunion needs to be nipped in the bud.

It doesn't matter if people could guess what it is, they obviously have a promotion going to countdown to the announcement and this fool telling everyone what it is doesn't do him any favors.
Again. He's not a part of it. He hasn't contributed. Nor was he consulted or informed. Hence the " It’s a collection I think, I’m not sure but that is what I think it is.". He's guessing, liike everyone else, unlike everyone else though, he knows he hasn't signed up for an AFD reunion. And since he wasn't even informed, why should he participate in making a big secret and fuss about a pathetic, purportedly, overpriced box set?? If they want him to play along, they should have involved him and properly informed him and asked for him to not comment. Apparantly they haven't.

57 minutes ago, Modano09 said:So they start promotion and have a count down to announce something and this fool tells everyone what it is beforehand. This is why he doesn't get invited to things.
Well, it's not like he has any obligations to them. They treat him like shit. They don't keep him in the loop. They re-release an album where he's the drummer on and nobody even really tells him about it. He kept his mouth shut for over a year, when they were throwing him bones and jerking him around to play 1 song per show.
21 minutes ago, Modano09 said:That's not the point. They obviously put some effort into promotion for this guy and dumbass comes out and tells everyone what it's going to be.
And this effort for a box set of 31 year old material is kinda pathetic. While other bands release new music, they have a world wide secretive ad campain for a fucking box set.

What if they released AFD with a couple of CD era songs, redone with Slash and Duff? Like TWAT and This I Love? I know people will piss allover the concept, but they play them live and ever the perfectionist, Axl 100% sees some room for improvement from the 2008 release.
I also think The General could finally see the light of day. People will drop a deuce on that idea too, but Axl has been looking for a Slash replacement since Slash left (and vice versa) if it really is a big gun, I'm sure Axl would want to have Slash do it so he could "get it right."
This is just a "what if" not a 'theory" or a " what I heard was that..."
Bullshit. If it is a re-release then only AFD era and member stuff should appear on that album. No CD crap or stuff done with non members should sully that release.

Why the domain FM? Unless they are moving to the Federated states of Micronesia, couldn't it mean another GNR radio type of thing connected to AFD? Of course since they are always late, they missed the anniversary by a year.

STEVEN ADLER Talks Aussie Tour… And That Mysterious Billboard!
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Posted · Edited by PatrickS77
Well, if they'd care to not upset their fans, they would put together the box set, take it all out, lay it down on a white background, make a photo, put it on their website, describe what's in and on it and say when it will be available to buy and what it costs. No fancy mystery campain. Oh, and it all would have happened in 2017. Probably around the time they played that Apollo show. And maybe they would have tried to get Steven and/or Izzy for a one-off as guests to play on all the Appetite songs.
