Actually, most people who have watched this band for the last 15 plus years knows that they have added dates within six or seven weeks.  It was only a couple of weeks ago they announced the Iceland gig.  It wouldn't be out of the world of possibilities that they added some last minute UK gigs at the tale end of the European tour.

As for not bringing up the Asian gigs, I suppose an unofficial fan forum isn't the place to announce world tour news/dates.  Plus I don't believe anyone asked him specifically about Asia.

Yes. The Iceland gig, at the end of the tour in 2 months enroute back home. Not the same thing as squeezing some UK gigs into a schedule that has been released 7 months ago.

As for the asian gigs. It was a matter of hours. He could at least left out the "I think". Doesn't matter whether this forum is unofficial or not.

I asked him if we should expect any additional stops in Europe.  He said no, that everything is set and that fans should plan accordingly.

Wouldn't you say that's useful information for European fans still trying to determine which shows they will be seeing?  I know several UK fans who thought they might be adding some more shows in the UK and now know that if they want to see additional shows they need travel to continental Europe.

Well. That question was already answered/obvious. Only dreamers and totally clueless people thought that more european dates would magically fall out of the hat this close to the start of the tour. UK people always think they are somehow special and they should get more shows, even if nothing supports that. And the asian dates were announced hours after he came on. So he wasn't all that useful there. I wonder why he couldn't just mention them himself.

Can I post a constructive critic here? Please don't take this the wrong way.

I wasn't here for the "chat" but I think you guys should work on your questions, and focus on other things.

I can't believe there's so many people making questions about a Bootleg from 93 that we already got, or a boxset that will answer all of our questions on the 29th June. Who cares?!? We got that already! The bootleg is out there, the Box will be out within a month...We will get everything answered by itself.

Fernando suggested to clarify about being accused of leaking CD and stuff like that... That's the melting pot...Let the man speak about that! Let the man speak about what's unreleased. What's to come. See if he can estimate a time frame as well for future releases.

    My two cents.

Well. That is not important either. Who cares who leaked something some 12 years ago? It already happened. It's irrelevant at this point. I didn't even know someone acused him. But it is interesting to know, whether it really is the band, who doesn't want that '93 (or any other) concert bootleg out there or if it's an imposter, maybe someone who is still trying to sell that bootleg himself.

I could possibly have one made for you.  Our new tour line is pretty fucking sick.  Sorry I get super psyched about our clothing lines, fun fact; did you know I overlook the entire design team and the direction on anything and everything we do?

Hmm... psyched about clothes? Can you imagine how psyched we would get about word on new music? :P Speaking of clothes, can you imagine that on both of my trips to Dubai and South America, I didn't get a respective tour t-shirt? In Dubai the design i wanted was sold out and in Buenos Aires, they didn't sell T-Shirts after the show (or maybe they did, but only for 5 minutes). So if you still got some lying around...

As for your comments on the Troubadour show, I was one of the poor sods (or should I say fools?) stood outside. We drove down from SF to LA, the minute we found out, but were too late. And it was soul crushing, to say the least. To fly over from Europe to attend the first reunion show, only to find out that there was a show ahead, happening right next to us and we couldn't attend (despite pretty much chatting up everyone from your mom to Jim Carrey) and not even seeing a youtube video. I really think you should reconsider about making that show available. Even if ony digitally over the internet. It would mean the world to many of us. It seems a bit unfair that only 400 people got that privilege (200 of them due to connections, others due to living in the right city and some of them not even old enough to be a fan when GNR were at their peak and not the "real" fans, waiting 20ish years for this to happen). Since you're not planning to make money on it, there would be no real loss in just making it available as a gift to the fans. Maybe on the 3 year anniversary?!

I think this morning Steven just again did confirm the hurdle & it is TB. Then again I commend TB for even managing what is happening at the moment, I feel there are great things to come & with the re-release of AFD next month it can only be positive for the original 5.

And again there is nothing that confirms that TB is acting on their own, instead of simply following Axl's wishes and doing what he wants them to do.

*To attend the Yasalam After-Race Concerts, you must be a Formula 1 2018 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ticket-holder.

So...to go to the concert, you buy a ticket for the day of racing and go along if you fancy it? That's not going to do wonders for the atmosphere of the gig is it?! Corporates with money isn't even going to begin to describe this one!

Can you IMAGINE how stiff the crowd will be for this gig? Nightmare.

No. You Need to have a F1 ticket. Then you can buy a concert ticket. It's not like only corporate People go to F1 races. There are regular People too. But it sucks that you can't go to the concert unless you buy a fucking F1 ticket, which at this Point is probably hard to get and certainly not cheap. And if you don't give a flying fuck about fucking F1 then it's really expensive.

    oh my god just stahp

Yeah. At this point I too would kinda like them to stop after the european leg, take time for new Music and then swing by again later.

Not sure if this means that NITL will continue with a full additional leg, or if this is just some highly paid 'one-off'.

Yeah. Could be. More likely though they will hit Australia/Asia a second time, like all the other territories too. Can't just leave the money lying on the street. ;) It will make for a very short Slash tour though. More like a stop and go thing.

Maybe we're using a different forum, because I see a lot of people talking about the vault and how we'd love if Axl opened it up every once in a while, for both new and old material; be it audio or video.

Yes, but these people apparently are talking about unreleased finished songs, not halfbaked unreleased versions of already released songs. I haven't seen anyone here begging to hear demos or incarnation 3 of a song, which has eventually been released in it's 15th version.

The great thing about a reissue is not the album itself, but the chance to have access to material previously unavailable (at least in good quality): live footage, demos, songs left out of the album, documentary, pictures, etc.

We’ll see when we have a detail of the reissue, then everyone will decide whether or not it’s worth the cashishhhh.

I have nothing against the reissue, just the way it's presented. They are making it out to be this great thing. Something they should be congratulated on. Something that willl fullfill all the fans's wishes. When it is just more of the same. Rehashing the past, resting on old laurels and cashing in on the past. And they do that with a grandiose mystery campaign that gets people more to talk about it than they should. And really, with that price tag and it being limited, at least the super-duper box set, only a few will get their hands on it anyways. I prefer the low key ways other bands release their reissues.

Nope, the biggest rock debut of all time getting re-released with extra unheard songs from the original sessions is interesting... Even if some people have already heard the tracks.

And what the hell are you on about? The released a few posters and social media messages saying destruction is coming earlier this week... That's not a huge ad campaign. The only people making this anything more than that are people like you and the other fans who just want to see the AFD 5 together.

For years people have been wondering about reissues of the old records, we're finally getting them and now everybody shits on it because it's not a reunion tour. Reminds me of 99-2014 "it's not the same without Slash" 2016 comes "Slash sold out for the money, it's nothing without Adler and Izzy" do you notice a pattern? 😂 Give a little and people always expect / demand more - damned if you do, damed if you don't.

Personally I like this, there's a new leg about to start, there's no new record so this is a great stop gap. MAYBE they play one of the unheard tracks live on the next run? Maybe not, but that might be interesting.

Well, I for one never have wondered about a reissue. It's still just that. They same old thing that has been available since 30 years. Old shit that doesn't need the attention they are giving to it. Check out how other bands re-release their old classic albums! They just announce it, no big mystery drama to get people's hope up.  At least they put some thought and effort into it, I give you that. But at the end of the day, it's just a bunch of useless junk to justify the outragous price. And where are the unreleased songs?? There's 2 (?) unreleased songs. Big whoop. The rest is demos and unfinished version of songs we already know front to back. Hardly something to lose your shit over.

And sorry, it's not my fault that they never seem to get it right and that they always leave you thinking 'This is great, but it would be even better if...'.

My stance is that Alder's a fool who can't keep his mouth shut and I'll bet my balls nobody can prove me wrong on that one.

And now? Since all the pictures and videos have leaked, apparently (as I understand it, can't really keep up) even at GNR.com? Are you gonna cuss out and insult GNR or whoever works on their website for spoiling the surprise??

    • Haha 2
  13. When exactly should that happen? GNR last show is June 24th. Slash starts his tour on Sept. 18th. and will be busy with his band from then on. Presumably he has to get some things and preparations done before that. Dizzy goes on tour on 15th of August. Okay, one could say that Dizzy is not part of the AFD line up, but I don't see Axl going on tour without a keyboard player, even if it would be the AFD line up. Nevermind Steven shooting it already down. So I call total bullshit on this one/mixing up the boxset news with anything else. And if it were to happen, they certainly wouldn't tell radio hosts about it beforehand. Seriously, some fans just never learn. Another useless thread and discussion.

True, but this ad campaign creates buzz and makes gnr feel and look like the giant act they've become again. When other bands release boxsets they don't usually get this much hype and speculation (Zeppelin being the exception).

Yep they should be releasing new music, but in s 30+ yr career that has resulted in no remasters or much archival material this release is a great change of pace... And shows that things are finally moving forward in some way... Even if it is a 'look back, to look forwards' kind of thing.

    Positive vibes😀

Yes. But the only 2 reasons a campaign like this would be warranted would be a reunion of the AFD line up or the announcement of new music. Otherwise it's much ado about nothing and overhyped.

Ever consider that it's as simple as putting together an Appetite box set to celebrate the album, give the fans something they want and make some money, and not an elaborate plot by the band to upset their fans?

Well, if they'd care to not upset their fans, they would put together the box set, take it all out, lay it down on a white background, make a photo, put it on their website, describe what's in and on it and say when it will be available to buy and what it costs. No fancy mystery campain. ;) Oh, and it all would have happened in 2017. :P Probably around the time they played that Apollo show. And maybe they would have tried to get Steven and/or Izzy for a one-off as guests to play on all the Appetite songs.
