Hi there. Not yet. I know there's a big meeting this week with the mgmt team who is overseeing the tour. There are tentative holds on stadiums in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. I haven't heard anything about EU yet. As of last week, Mexico City was targeted as the next big confirmation and on-sale, which makes sense because it would likely be an easy sell-out.

It's easy to tell that they're holding 3 or 4 sections on the lower right hand side because there are huge blocks of seats with nothing for sale. My father received an offer from M Life on Thursday with a stay, play, and show combination offer.

If you didn't get tickets to this... Go anyway! These ticket brokers won't sell all of their tickets at the prices they are charging now. You'll have last minute fan cancellations on craigslist, and you'll also have the couple who had another couple back out because they couldn't get child care.
In 2016, it's nearly impossible for you to not be able to buy a ticket at retail price eventually.... the only problem with that is that the retail prices are so damn high!
Fuck this sale. Move on, make plans for vegas, and be patient in selecting your tickets.
THIS!! Every single sold out show I have been to there are soooooo many scalpers out front selling. 5 minutes once the show started scalpers sweat and really cut the price on tickets. I can't tell you how many awesome baseball games I have been to for dirt ceap and just missed the first or second inning. Our advantage to a Guns show is 5 minutes after scheduled start time is still 55 minutes early haha.
And... also to your advantage is that the fans have $$$. Many of them selling the night of the show are not trying to get rich by playing ticket scalper like a lot of the younger band shows I go to at small theaters. Most of these fans are going to have a good time and are not worried about making $$$ or even taking the time to deal with selling their extra tickets. They often just want their money back or want a fan to buy it instead of the small time ticket scalper with the "I Need Tickets" sign. If you're only trying to buy a single ticket, offer way less than face and you'll be surprised. DONT STAY HOME. This is a big deal.
Finally, buy your plane ticket now and make hotel reservations ASAP. What just happened is that the equivalent to a very large medical convention with about 25,000 non-vegas residents was basically just booked in the city. When the large conferences come to town, the airlines, hotels, etc know way in advance and raise the prices. They are all just now finding out about this and will price accordingly.

You gotta wonder, if this thing is still being negotiated in anyway as to former members, we should be careful about putting pressure on this thing as to what we (personally) may want. It may cause it to blow up in our faces (ie being overly negative, egging on the press, who follow these boards to do more stories bagging on the reunion). What we need is some patience, these are relationships that are highly complicated and that's based just on conjecture, theory, rumors, and whatever has been reported in the press. Add the truth and whatever we don't know adds even another layer to the gigantic knot of conundrum we call Guns N' Roses. So let's all relax, we just got a couple months to wait.
It is. At least for Adler it is. I have no info on Pittman. I didnt ask and didnt want to be too fanboy inquisitive. We should all be happy these Vegas shows sold out as quickly as they did. There are second night option dates on several of the stadium venues in North America on hold right now. In a couple markets there are also Stadium/Arena combo options... Kind of like the first North American Rolling Stones Bigger Bang Tour. For example, if there is a lot of demand in a market and enough to sell out a stadium on night one, but not enough to fill it again but enough to sell 16-20k tickets on a second night, they may move to book an arena for the second night or the pre-stadium night based on availability.
I may be able to explain someday soon but for now it's confidential. I've got credibility. My statements were spot on regarding Las Vegas and I was dismissed in the confirmed dates "rumors" thread because I could not provide my source. I think the MOD deleted my original posts in that thread but I believe I still may be quoted in there on the first few pages. Izzy has confirmed for the first shows.
Izzy being involved is awesomeThe line up is pretty much set. It's Axl, Slash, Duff, Richard (full time) w/ Izzy part time including Vegas and Coachella shows, Dizzy Reed, and Frank Ferrer. Not sure what's going on with Pittman and Steven Adler will be decided upon next week if not already.
How do you know all this? And thanks!
Will that be made official before the shows or will it be a surprise appearance?
All I heard is that his "people" confirmed that he will be involved. Before this, I didn't realize Izzy had "people" or a full-time agent. I though he was a one-man show and negotiated his own deals or just verbally committed to showing up.

Congratulations on a successful sell-out. Now if Stub Hub and the smaller brokers can just fill the seats with fans we'll have a proper comeback show.

This whole thing already seems like a disorganized mess. It's time Axl and his management team get off their ass. Show up on the late show, stern, rollingstone etc. Let people know what's going on and then properly announce the tour with dates and venues. This is what every other act does.
It's not axl's management team. There is a governing body or team so to speak and each band member has it's own representative. For $3 million per show, they have to do things like VIP pacages etc. Las Vegas is a test venue to make sure the demand is there before they launch more dates in the US. They know what they'll do in Mexico City and the European tour dates are a built-in audience. It's the ambitous stadium goal in the states that is untested. Once they gauge this thing and figure out exactly what the definite plan is, we'll see all the things you are requesting. There will be an agressive press roll-out.

Who will promote the band Accept or Saxon?
-
The presence of the new band members is a real wet blanket on things. There is also the fact we still have no interviews, press releases or anything from the band that would get across to the public that this GNR tour is different than any of the other tours Axl has been doing for 10 years.
Sadly I am beginning to realize how much he diluted the brand the past 15 years.
Had he not been masquerading as GNR all this time there would be a tremendous hype level that GNR were back together and playing shows again after 20 years being dormant.
I know we're talking about someone who spent 15 years working on an almost mythical album just to put it on the shelf and not promote it, but they can't possibly be dumb enough to reunite Axl/Duff/Slash and just go out on the road assuming everyone's heard.
But I assume Axl wants to think of this as his GNR with new/old members Slash and Duff, and Slash and Duff don't want to say they're just re-joining Axl's band, so they'll all just say nothing.
Izzy will be there. Final call on Adler appearance next week.
-
It's not even a real reunion. But the 8 mil was probably the glue that sealed the deal.
It will be close enough on April 8&9 anyway, now that Izzy will be in Las Vegas. It will be more of a reunion that most of the UYI tour.

would love to hear Axl's take on "By the sword"
I can totally see Axl singing this song.
"But you left it all behyyy eee iiind"
Actually, there's a lot of Slash tunes from the last couple of albums that would sound great with Axl on vocals.

They should play MLS Stadiums in the markets where they exist- smaller places that seat 30k. Larger than an arena, but not a baseball/football stadium either. Technically, this would still be the US Stadium Tour, just smaller ones. You'll need to seat more people though for $5-6 million a show, unless every ticket price is $300, the promoter is doing charity work, or if they land a major corporate sponsor (Taco Bell/Yum Brands - would be cheesy but would keep the ticket prices down).

I believe the MSL story about Nikki Sixx letting DJ know that he needed him full time. I also believe that Axl would continue to work with his guys who have been in the band all these years. Remember, he has a different view of Guns N' Roses than most people do. He views it as an organization of which the players who have come and gone are contributors, but views himself as Guns N' Roses. I think once DJ was out, Axl probably felt comfortable to act on the idea reunion of classic line up members (but on his terms) by reaching out to the people who have consistently presented him with reunion strategy/opportunities all these years. I dont think he would have done so if DJ stayed with the band and Tommy not gone to play with The Replacements. Seems like a perfect storm to me.

If you're in your 40's or older, it's probably like the people you've worked around for 5-10 years. You hang together at the office. You know about their families and you probably even remember their birthday, but you don't really hang out with them or invite them to your house. You keep it all separate.

It sounds like a perfect tour name and it sounds like the other side of "Appetite for Destruction".

Meaning: You couldn't kill us off... We're still here.
There were small rumors floating around at that time last year, weren't they? That video slot machine came out and seemed themed to the tune of the original lineup with the spokesperson stating that the next year would be an exciting time for the band.

Yo... Slash is not going to play Better... There's no way.
Slash played on "Black or White"... He can play Better

15 minute mini-movie showing footage from the 80's, 90's, St. Louis Riot, in the limos with Axl's middle finger out the window in Tokyo etc. Then FFW to 2016 with studio footage of the band recording the new singles for the tour. Ending with the big Guns N' Roses logo on the video screens....lights go out.

I think MLS Stadiums would be safe in the United States. I agree, some hype will need to occur here. I could be totally wrong. They have access to all of the music sales data etc that armchair concert promoters such as ourselves don't have.
-
Maybe I'm delusional here, but I don't think it's solely about the money.
These guys walked away from being on top after fighting so hard to get there. I'm sure that despite the years of comments to the tune of "we were a great band but that's in the past. my focus is on Loaded, VR, Snakepit, etc.", these guys all wish they would have done more to keep the band together. Especially Axl. Every time they hear Welcome to the Jungle when a game is on TV, they've got to be proud of the legacy they left behind and they wonder what would have happened if they never went their separate ways.
This is their chance to give it a second try and remind the world how great they really are/were.

I hope this tour ends up showcasing Izzy and Adler for at least 3-4 songs at the massive shows. The question I have is do you think they'll cut Dizzy out of the tour? Slash and Duff have been on the record way in the past as saying that they never got the addition of the keyboards to the band. I dont think either of them have used keys in their own music since leaving GNR. Also, having Dizzy on-stage means less money to fly in Izzy and other guest artists for the big shows and less for Slash/Duff/Axl to split.
So what do you think everyone? Dizzy - in or out?
Sincerely,
Eddie Fucking Money

has anyone thought that fortus and ferrer were also insurance back ups for adler or izzy to fill in should the need be there
I'm pretty sure that's the rumor that Eddie Trunk heard. I think that there's a good chance of them setting it up so Fortus and Ferrer are the touring players that will be at every gig, but occasionally, they'll fly in Matt, Izzy, and possibly Steven for a few songs, kind of like how Axl's been doing it with Izzy and Duff appearances since 2006.
I can see the stadium shows being all about "ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Mr. Izzy Stradlin'", but tuesday night gig at the NEC arena in Birmingham UK or at the FedEx Forum in Memphis would feature only Richard Fortus on guitar.

Rumored Concert Date Thread
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Posted
There are second nights on hold in a few places. This I know. What I'll be curious to see is if they announce all of the dates at once or If they roll them out slowly to maximize attendance. For example, if many people here knew that Vegas would be announced, they wouldn't have bought coachella tickets. Now, since they've decided they can't miss Vegas, they're committed to going to both. Garth Brooks rolled-out one city at a time in the past year and gave little lead time from the announcement to the on sale date and then the concert happened a few weeks later. If they sold quickly, they added another show. I don't think it will be that extreme but I would be surprised if they gave us all North American dates at once.
