I’ve seen Slash 10+ times with various projects, 6 of those with GNR, and his tones still always been killer

Perhaps was great to get live at the Fenway show for me. Considering our desire for new songs for decades, the leak sagas, etc, it was an absolute treat for me to get that and Hard Skool live, in- person He does struggle with parts of it, but I’m glad I heard him sing the full chorus. That is just a total Axl part, so it’d be a shame to have him skip it

Hard Skool for sure. Sounds like a proper Guns N’ Roses song in its final form. Perhaps, I can see the case for liking the demo more, but I think the final edges it out for me a bit. Those songs benefit from being played more like a classic GNR tunes with Slash and Duff The General, idk. Maybe that will have been better with NuGNR since it apparently had all the epic orchestra and hip hop beats. Either way, I’m just happy it’s coming out

Aside from the drums, I think the final version of Hard Skool surpasses the demo in every way. The intro and bridge in the demo stick out and don’t go with the vocal parts, at all imo.

I think this is just how it will be now. It’s another sickness that will always circulate. Luckily, we have lots of ways to fight it including vaccines and treatments

My player has a way to rip MP3s from Vinyl so I can just upload it in HQ. I’m sure it’ll be on streaming though I believe so

Agreed! I wouldn’t say I’m an Eminem fan but I saw him at Lollapalooza in 2011 and he had a great set

His modern tone is still really good, but it’s more in the JTM/Super Lead side of things as opposed to the JCM side. I think he’s still using a Silver Jubilee, but he’s very reserved with the gain. I agree he should crank it a bit on some songs like Perhaps! The rhythm verses in Absurd were pretty crunchy, and the little solos in HS have more gain than the Perhaps solo I was listening to UYI and FUCK, is that the best Slash’s tone ever was

Just need some new Mick Taylor and some old Charlie playing if they have it

And they put Absurd out first, so I put zero stock in release order

Agreed! I feel like this is them throwing us a bone and it goes an very long way for me as a fan. 15 years of waiting for this and it’s actually happening! We’ll have to probably “settle” for Atlas next but maybe you are right! Atlas was definitely the safe choice instead of The General since it always was leaked

I feel like there’s no way the 2018 version didn’t have a lot of new shit on it. It sounds impeccable, how did that sit unheard for 30+ years? Maybe they had the bones of a Mike Clink recording with new shit on top. Who knows
