User a: The General is the weskest song ever. My World and Absurd are classics in comparison. User b: That's only your opinion. That's not a fact. You and your mullet, you're stuck in the 80s. User a: That clipping, how can't you hear that clipping. They're amateurs. It sounds like what a garage band would came up with. User b: It's a profound topic for Axl. It's great. Go listen to AFD, you're stuck in the 80s User c: Now we have to wait for Oklahoma, Eyes On You, Nothing and Atlas Shrugged. Probably next month? User d: That's all rock music: rockers, ballads, blues techno. It's all the same genre Sweersa: Where are the demos with Robin and Buckethead? Wtf happened to this thread

I know you know it better and you're acting like a little bitch just out of fun to provoke some people here. And I know it's your disappointment which led you do this and it's ok but c'mon... Slash recorded his parts for this years ago now and considering how he played it live he couldn't even remember what he fucking recorded in the studio. He won't go anywhere nor will he confront those little bitches from TB. He already played much worse CD songs on stage in front of massive crowds and he's still there. If that's the price for new music than let it be... if there's no new music coming anymore than we're already fucked.

There's still a little hope in me (despite that I'm not agreeing with you completely here about the quality) but IF it's true what Slash said, that Axl would like to get rid of those songs before moving on, than who knows. Ah fuck it... even if they start writing new stuff it could last another 15 years until they'll release it. Who knows if Axl is still capable of writing new shit at all.

I think both sides are exaggerating a lot. It's neither the best song after Estranged nor the weakest recording this band's ever made. To me it's a weird CD song with a great outro. It's surrounded by the typical CD atmosphere. But it's dark and painful. I don't mind the vocal effects after figuring out why they're there... Too me at first Axl tries to symbolise the child in him, then the pain he's felt... or is still feeling. Sounds like garbage without context but I dig it as an artistic choice. The vocal melody through the chorus is catchy and Axl's powerful. Gives it a lot of energy. It lacks the guitars up until the outro, but when Slash's lead kicks in it turns into a powerhouse.

It's his best solo out of all reunion songs imo. The solo on Monsters is good too, but not that special. I'm more a fan of his work during the verses and during the bridge of Monsters. That's great. But when it comes to guitar solos The General outro is what I like the most. It's electrifying and it's mean. Combined with Axl the outro is this GNR magic we all wished for after so many years. My only complaint is that I hoped the guitar would be a little bit more prominent in the final mix. Monsters is the overall the better song but General has the better outro.

GNR members on tour during the break

I think chances are similar to the possibility of them working on GNR music from scratch. Basically it's hard to believe but at the same time not that far-fetched. -

Thankfully I'm able to listen myself to music and don't need to rely on anybody else's opinion, which, in this case doesn't match with the general view. I'm happy for every single SMKC record and even if I think, they could have been better without Myles, I don't think their last two albums are weaker than their work prior. Living The Dream has some damn good highlights with great lead guitar and 4 is consistently good overall.
