  1. Nah, finally I think its Slash all the way. I think the outro solo consists of several layers and the most prominents to be all Slash as throughout the song as well. IF it's Richard then hat's off!
  2. The only question to me (many others seem to be very confident about it) is, if it's Richard at the very end of Monsters. It's like I'm changing my mind three times during one listen in those last 15 seconds damn that sucks.
  3. That would indeed be interesting just to see what they've changed and what they kept. I haven't heard the phone recording. I assume the lead guitar melody is completely different, isn't it?
  4. But that song was written and recorded probably in 2009, when Slash didn't even know that a song like The General exists.
  5. Yeah but Slash has released a lot of stuff over the years and every record has a different style/feel to it. I disagree that TG/Monsters is his best work since the UYI days. It's good, it's even great but I have a feeling that had he used some of his solo stuff for a gnr reunion release some people here would pee their pants. Especially speaking about the solos. The rhythm guitar work throughout the song like intro, verses, bridge arrangement and so on, is sublime and more elaborated than when he records for himself. What I find funny is, that many of those who have doubts it's Slash on The General outro argue that the guitar parts are to fast for Slash. Simply ignoring his previous work where he also play like this. Axl going on full pain/anger, of course Slash will compliment him with an aggressive style. As he doesn't know what a song needs.
  6. I'm still not sure about Monsters outro, though. It could be Fortus on the last 15 seconds or so, but if he is, he replicated Slash's style and sound pretty close. I think I still lean towards Slash like 60/40% but it's difficult to say. Some hints suggest it could be Richard. I think we'll see if they play it live.
  7. That's not Axl on the bridge of Monsters. That must be an old demo from 1971. I'm confident that’s Robert Plant
  8. Rather the opposite is the case here. It's the song Chains and Shackles from Slash's solo record. It was one of the bonus tracks. M. Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold sang Nothing To Say on the same instrumental with an different solo which made the album. Edit: My fault, I got it wrong. I thought you wrote 'Slash in new Nick Oliveri song' instead of 'new compilation album'.
  9. Due to the song title The General And Monsters I still can imagine they made one song out of two, just that it fits on the 7 inch LP, and there you go, then you have your 7 - 8 min epic.
  10. I'm waiting for the day when it's confirmed that Slash plays the leads how some of these people will pretend that Slash's parts are weak and how much better Buckets work would be. Basically the same people that don't wanna believe that it's Slash on TG outro.
  11. Yes, the main lead licks were all Slash on Absurd as well. Don't know what Richard should be playing there.
  12. It was around 10 Euros less before Covid. It's expensive but everything costs more now.
  13. Yeah that part is damnfuckingcrazygood. Best CD era part of Axl was TWAT's "I would do anything for you" screams until Monsters leaked. These are real punchlines right there.
  14. You listened to it with headphones now. Don't you recognize Slash's signature playing? Not only the sound but his runs and bends. That's something I haven't heard anybody play like that besides Slash. And Bucket, even if he could replicate it, has his own style. He's recognizable as well. I'd say I hear his songwriting during the verses (I can’t tell which part exactly, because I don't know where to listen to them again, since they aren't on Youtube anymore). Listening to the outro of The General is like looking at a picture of Slash. I don't think it's him, I don't believe it's him... i know it's him
  15. How is it difficult to understand that somebody might not agree with the overall direction the band took vs enjoying some tracks of this era. I can only speak for me and despite that I like TG/Monsters, they still sound sonehow weird. But these are not the only songs I enjoy. Better, Sorry, TWAT ... all excellent songs... I always admited that. But I still wish they'll do something more traditional sounding. No reason to think you can't stay true to your roots and still create epic tracks
  16. You guys have no idea what you talking about. Listening to this guitar and say that's not Slash is like listening to the vocals of Paradise City and claim that's not Axl. Either you have no idea or you're just trolling.
  17. We all know Slash is all over the tracks but you still question this. How those two tracks are gonna be released is still the big mystery. We have some hints but nothing that proofs the final outcome.
