  1. As of now, the song(s) is not expected to be on streaming. Just a vinyl release coming December 8th. But hopefully that changes.
  2. That reminds me: didn’t Axl also tell Baz that night that The General would release in 2012? Well, he was only off by 11 years… I still remember those comments from Baz. 2007 feels like just yesterday, in some ways!
  3. I just had a thought: If it’s true that The General and Monsters is really The General combined with Soul Monster… And if it’s true that Fortus told a fan that Seven is really Circus Maximus and D-Tune combined together… And since the mysterious soundcheck song sounds like Seven (Circus/D-Tune) to some people and Berlin (aka Oklahoma) to others… What if the band actually combined Berlin and Seven together? Maybe it’ll be released as one song. Just like The General and Monsters.
  4. If I had to guess, probably something like: 1.Chinese Democracy, 2.Better (assuming the vocals were done by then), 3.Oklahoma (assuming it actually has vocals), 4.IRS, 5.Hard School, 6.The Blues, 7.If the World, 8.There Was a Time, 9.Riad N’ the Bedouins, 10.Catcher in the Rye, 11.Atlas Shrugged, 12.Perhaps, 13.Sorry (assuming the vocals were done by then), 14.Oh My God (reworked), 15.Madagascar, 16.The General, 17.Monsters (apparently still called Leave Me Alone at this point), 18.Prostitute And then the bonus disc would’ve probably been instrumentals that Axl had no intention of writing lyrics for (Thyme, etc.) or sketch songs that were too whacky for mainstream audiences (State of Grace, Silkworms, Eye On You, Nothing, etc.). Going Down and 10%er probably would’ve also been here. I’m leaving stuff like Seven, Ides of March, etc. out cause we don’t really know wtf those are (yet).
  5. Nah. He’s been trying to get the rights back but has been unsuccessful so far, from what I understand.
  6. I actually like Melissa in the band. Hope she gets well soon!
  7. They owned a barn where a bunch of old studio tapes happened to be stored, and they took a pic of that one and shared it on Reddit and the Duff/TB and asked for them to deliver the tape.
  8. The fact that evader got his version so close to the real thing makes it even more embarrassing that Fernando referred to his version as “raw sewage.”
  9. I think at some point between the 2008 forum visits and the 2010 Vienna party they both got combined into one song. Someone must’ve told Axl “these both sound so similar that they might as well be one song.” They both have the same “spooky” beltrami orchestration anyways, and we know he worked on both, back when (Soul) Monster(s) was called Leave Me Alone.
  10. Yeah I remember that. I should’ve listened to you. My bad!
  11. No, it was Me & My Elvis, but we all assumed that was Soul Monster cause back in 2008 Axl said that Elvis and the Monster of Soul was an alternate title for Leave Me Alone/ Soul Monster.
  12. I don’t think I hear a sitar in either The General/ Monsters nor any of those soundchecks, so I wonder wtf Fortus was talking about. Must be Atlas. As for what “the soundcheck song” is, I’m gonna assume Seven (especially since Fortus supposedly told a fan that Seven is really Circus Maximus combined with D-Tune). It also kinda sounds like the ending part of Berlin/Oklahoma. Maybe Atlas, Seven, and Berlin are all still in the pipeline?
  13. That reminds me of when the locker leaks were happening and I jokingly referred to the unnamed Tommy demo as motormouth (based on an old fake title) and everyone started acting like that was the actual title. Thankfully we know now that it’s really 10%er.
  14. Ides of March was mentioned by Dave Dominguez, who worked as an engineer for the band in the late 90s, and also mentioned by Dizzy. His description of it sounds like Circus Maximus, which is also a Roman title, but apparently Fortus told a fan recently that Seven is actually Circus Maximus combined with D-Tune (which also makes sense, since Brain said Seven was inspired by Julius Caesar). I don’t remember who mentioned Beta’s Barn, but it was definitely someone close to the band like Pitman or something. Izzy mentioned Down By the Ocean in a rare 2001 interview as being one of a handful of songs he and Duff worked on for Axl in 1995. Axl later mentioned the song, adding that it was indeed an Izzy track, in his 2008 forum visits. A lot of people assume it’s really Box from Izzy’s 2007 album Fire. A few years ago someone found the 1995 tape, but TB took it from them before they could leak it.
  15. I think Leave Me Alone became Elvis Presley and the Monster of Soul which became Soul Monster which became Monsters which became part of The General, and Me & My Elvis was always a different song.
  16. For whoever may be curious, I have a new ranking of all the canon films and shows of the franchise on my blog, strictly based on first impressions from when I first saw each entry: http://henrynsilva.blogspot.com/2023/10/ranking-star-wars-based-on-first.html?m=1
  17. SIDE A 1.Hard Skool 2.Absurd 3.Perhaps 4.The General and Monsters SIDE B 5.Atlas Shrugged 6.Berlin 7.Seven 8.Quick Song (renamed to No Words to excuse the gibberish) Just put that out and call it an EP. I would throw others in there like Curly Shuffle and Me & My Elvis, but I don’t think any of those actually have vocals. State of Grace’s vocal track is not good enough to warrant a release. Eye On You grew on me but it doesn’t fit the GnR vibe. Nothing is just a sketch. Cuban Skies probably has vocals but I bet it’s stupid.
  18. Now that I’ve had time to digest both songs, I think The General is catchier. I still like Monsters too though.
