  1. You know what’s funny? Back in the early 2010s, Bumblefoot suggested releasing only one or two songs at a time, and Fernando basically brushed him away, yet now they’re using his idea! Lol
  2. If my math is right, not counting teases, The General will be the 100th officially-released GnR song. It’s 104 if you do count the following teases: Only Women Bleed Hotel California I Was Only Joking Voodoo Child (Slight Return) There’s also It Tastes Good Don’t It from Tokyo 92 and Dead Flowers and Someone Saved My Life Tonight from the O2 2012 thing, but those were only video releases.
  3. If it’s between Atlas and a finished song we’ve never heard before (at least vocally) then yeah the unheard song has to take priority, due to how small the catalog already is to begin with. Beggars can’t be choosers.
  4. Yeah that’s what Slash says he wants to do, and Mayhue kinda hinted recently that this is still the plan. I’m not holding my breath, but with GnR now trending on Twitter/X and Perhaps topping the iTunes Rock Charts in both the US and UK, I guess anything is possible.
  5. I’m starting to think the latter would be the better way to go. Do a whole EP called Atlas Shrugged containing all the songs they worked on during Covid.
  6. I think atlas is good enough to warrant a single release, yes. It’s not “the next November Rain,” as some insiders were saying back in the day, but it’s still good.
  7. He didn’t say that. He said “there will be GnR news soon. Could even be this week.” I think he was referring to the AFD reissue with the robot rapist cover art. We found about that shortly after.
  8. What makes this all even funnier is that they refer to it as their first new composition together since TSI… Did they forget that TSI is a covers album? But Slash and Duff don’t have writing credits on those.
  9. Yeah he said in 2007 that it was his favorite of all the songs Axl had played him and that it has “screaming vocals.”
  10. Was thinking that too. Still cool, tho! Okay, Palpatine.
  11. Actually Estranged is part 4, and part 3 is something that never got finished for UYI, according to Axl. We later found this out to be TIL. I think Baz made a mistake and confused The General with a different song. But if what he says is true about The General being part of the story, then it goes like this: 1.Don’t Cry (either version, I guess) 2.November Rain 3.This I Love 4.Estranged 5.The General So the first four songs are about getting over a girl and then the fifth song is about child abuse… I guess…
  12. DISC 1 1.Better 2.IRS 3.Chinese Democracy 4.The Blues 5.If the World 6.Sorry 7.There Was a Time 8.Riad N’ the Bedouins 9.Shackler’s Revenge DISC 2 1.Hard Skool 2.Absurd 3.Perhaps 4.Oh My God 5.Catcher in the Rye 6.Scraped 7.Madagascar 8.This I Love 9.Prostitute
  13. The 2006 lineup was almost that, but then Axl threw BBF in at the last minute.
  14. Tried but couldn’t find it. But for what it’s worth, it’s the same Reddit posts that had cover arts for both General and Atlas (the dark shield and the skeleton chilling in the desert). Seems like the posts were removed, which is interesting…
  15. Nah this was a separate rumor from the 4chan thing. I’ll see if I can find it at some point.
  16. If we do get an album I think it’ll just be a Lies 2 type of thing where the a-side is just all the songs they worked on during Covid (and Perhaps, assuming it really was only done this year like they’re saying) and the b-side will just be remixes of some CD songs with Slash/Duff or live tracks.
  17. Someone on Reddit who predicted the right release date for The General had also said that Atlas would follow in November, tho maybe that was just a coincidence. Deeply rooted into Axl’s ass.
  18. The band’s website is reiterating the same thing the press statement from yesterday said: that perhaps was “written and recorded this year.” Maybe this song really was done separately from the other five or six songs they supposedly did during Covid? Maybe atlas was originally supposed to be paired with the general? Would explain why there’s rumblings of atlas coming out in November.
  19. On vinyl it’s the live version from Boston but on cd and cassette it’s the studio version. On topic; maybe the reason they’re doing the Side-G/ Side-R scheme again this time is so that The General doesn’t feel like a b-side?
  20. Music video is way better than I expected it to be. Glad to see the band is getting better at this sorta stuff.
