  1. A request was asked for stuff Slash has said. I gave stuff Slash said, not in one one off interview, but over the course of 1995-2004. So, no I didn't "repeat steps 2 and 3"

Slash Fans: Never Admit Slash is Wrong, Always Deflect.Rule #2 to be a good Slash fan: "When presented with Slash saying stuff that might've pissed Axl off, downplay and say Axl is crazy."

Saying Slash is a cancer = Axl is an evil, wicked man.

Saying Axl is a villain = Slash is cool. Axl is a wicked man.

Excellent job, Dr. Who! You shove it up their back door with real proof, as requested :D

I'm sorry obtuse and proud people will never admit to it but you see, this people are capable of going to lengths like denying the word of their God Slash himself, who was humble enough to admit in his own Bible that he had a period of talking negative things about Axl.

Bad mouthing and saying negative stuff doesn't reduce to insults. Actually, when Scott W. got involved in the fight saying those really insulting and harsh things about Axl, Slash says he didn't like that at all and he told Scott "dude, u can't talk shit about Axl. I can talk shit about him but you can't." Pretty much like when you fight with your siblings but will not allow someone from the outside giving them shit.

To make the sorry short: Slash said a load of negative things about Axl on the press and in his book, throughtout the years and it's only been 3-4 years since he stopped and kinda backed off a bit, becoming moody when journalists want to bring the subject up.

Axl, faithful to his style, didn't comment on those things in quantity but did it on "quality". The cancer thing was like a Nuclear bomb. He dropped it once and apparently caused more damage than 10 Slash interviews. Also, the press release from the Burning Hills and the comments about Scott being a fraud caused a huge fight in Velvet Revolver and Slash was knocked out.

All in all, both Axl and Slash have a sharp tongue and during those years they seem to have produced lethal venom to spit at each other whenever the chance was given. Fortunately, and in appearance, they seem to have smoothed out their comments and finally buried the subject, but we never know.

  2. So any proof of Slash bad mouthing Axl I'm the past 15 years? The way some of you quite that all the time, proof should be easy to find.

Would have to check GNR evolution....

but tell me one thing... why do you people doubt Slash himself admitting to it in his own goddamn book?? that's hilarious nonetheless

And that book says a lot of things about Axl... not sure if they should be labeled as "badmouthing" but its pretty harsh at times. And bipolar. Because throughout the whole book he loves and hates Axl equally.

Its a crazy book but I really enjoyed it.

  3. So your post is number 6.

    Mine is number 7.

Anything more? 'Cause that's not "years of bashing".

My post isn't any number of that lol list. I'm just quotting Slash, from his autobiography. I don't think there's anything beyond that, really. It is HIS Bible.

Also, I dont care for how many "years" he bashed Axl... I really don't recall it as in "years" time. But he did talk about Axl in a negative way and he admits it. And its normal and totally understandable that he did it as soon as he had the chance, to get it out of his system. It sucks he did it on the press and not personally, face to face. But I also understand how impossible it is to reach Axl when he has kicked you out of his life.

Slash himself admitted in his book to have spoken lots of bad things about Axl in the press, only because he was holding it inside. Also admitted to have written lots of lyrics about Axl that were pretty negative.

I'm surprised the so-called Slash fans haven't read his book, which should be like the Bible for them.

Like Magisme has so brilliantly pointed out, this fuckology has gone on long enough as is boring.

You people have never been able to prove your point.

Sane people can point to insults from Izzy and Matt re: Axl that make Slash's gripes look tame.

The same people can point to actions & quotes from Axl that are pretty nasty.

    That's called evidence.

You should try gathering some yourself but then I guess it would interfere with your emotionally charged investment in a fight between two prima-donnas that the world has mostly grown tired of and forgotten.

No one said Axl and the rest didn't throw shit at each other too. We are talking about Slash and Axl... can you stay on topic?

As for the rest... LOL. It's too funny see you going berserk just because someone read a book you haven't and can recall every paragraph on it.

    Keep the entertainment coming! rock3

  4. "Duff and I went to New York City to sit in on the mixing sessions with George Marino engineering and then Contraband was finished. I had my first drink in over a year that night. I remained pretty quiet about my feelings on the GN'R/Axl situation up until Duff and I did a promo tour supporting the release of Velvet Revolver's first CD. At that point, I hadn't gone public about what had transpired between Axl and me, and I hadn't planned on going there. But the media wanted to know my thoughts on the subject and in couldn't help it. I had nothing pleasant to say. It was as if they had touched a raw nerve, and suddenly everything that came out of my mouth was bitter and spitefulthe complete antithesis of how I wanted to react. When GN'R and I parted ways, I had honestly wanted to stay low-key and never bicker in the press, mostly because so many artists before me had gone that route and I thought it was distasteful. But here I was, put in a corner with press in every direction, hungrily looking for controversy and prodding that raw nerve. I couldn't control my responses. Everything I said about Axl was negative; it was almost emotional. This, of course, pissed off Axl and was definitely the catalyst for rant against me in his 2005 press release, not to mention complicating the GN'R lawsuit even further."

  5. Apollo is a grandpa?

Yeah, he oftenly sounds like one but he said he has a little daughter... :shrugs:

Older than 30, but not a grandpa.

    I've got three kids.

Damn_Smooth and I often don't get along. I'm from the old school world of having normal conversations with people. He's from the 4chan/reddit generation of communication styles. When he isn't begging for the Shitposter of the Year award like he did last year for months, I find him to be a quality poster. Seems smart and has a good sense of humor. I'm sure in real life he is a nice kid and isn't as negative as he is on the forum.

    *******

Smooth, I've called people out for calling Axl fat as well.

I don't understand why people are obsessed with the weight of Axl or Slash. Why would fans care about that?

If it effects their performance on stage - talk about it. But posting pictures of either one of them at the beach with their shirt off, just to ridicule them? Makes no sense to me. We, as a people, should be better than that. Both guys are humans, with feelings. No need to fat shame them. Neither guy claimed to be a sex symbol or has claimed to be in great shape or have a perfect body.

People are outraged over the fat shaming that Kelly Clarkson is getting in the media. But people here do the same thing all the time. I'd just like to see our forum be better than that.

I don't think Damn_Smooth is negative. He's really sarcastic and has a dark sense of humor but I dig it. I like his style

  6. Can we have a Bumblefoot appreciation thread?

I think him leaving the band has caused Axl to take this break. A break is the only way that Axl will change his appearence and vocals. Maybe it will get worse but there's a chance it gets better during a long break like this.

If Axl wants to come back and reinvent himself, he needs a good portion of years to get in shape again, maybe some cosmetic surgery and renew his look. This could mean reunion or new album, but he's definitely gone to return much later.

  7. I would think "legitimate criticism" would consist of more than a couple words about how bad current GN'R is, how bad a particular concert was, how much one dislikes GN'R today, how hopeless Axl has become, and so on, dispersed over X different posts in X different threads, often with little relevancy to the topic, day out and day in utter redundancy. It just becomes mass bashing with the obvious intent of riling up other posters. And referring to someone as a "crybaby" isn't very mature either. Aren't you supposed to be a role model or something or is mygnrforum the place you go to compensate for having to act all grown-up at work?

    ^^ this guy knows

  8. I think he does a solo on Fields of Joy and Black n White too?

I can see why Axl might take it more serious. At the first show in Taipei after release of CD Axl said last time he spoke to MJ he reccomended a great doctor. Isn't that leather glove MJs he got at auction. Scraped sounds a lot like Bad.

    Link? Video?

What kind of doctor did he recommend to MJ and why would he do that?

  9. This might seem like a bit of a silly, superficial and shallow topic, hehe...... but bear with me here.

    What do we know here?

    1) This guy has a wealth people on this board can only dream of. With that wealth comes the opportunity to do whatever he wants in life. This is a luxury not many people in society will ever have.He could travel the world, enjoying unimaginable luxuries if he wanted to. Nothing is out of reach.

    2) Axl is one of the most famous guys on the planet. If he is out and about, we tend to know about it. BUT we very rarely hear about him out socialising, doing things, etc. So despite the opportunities mentioned in point one, above - he chooses not to enjoy them.

    3) With a wealth on his scale, Axl doesn't have to bother with the boring crap we all need to do on a daily basis - travel to work, household chores, etc.

    4) He has no kids or partner - so this doesn't occupy his time.

    5) He has released, what - 15 original songs since 1991. That's 24 years. So we can't claim he works a lot from one day to the next.

So, bearing all that in mind, what the fuck is he actually doing?

There is a caricature image of him as some reclusive loner, skulking around alone in his deserted mansion in the middle of the night. Is this accurate? Is he some fat slob sitting in his unwashed underwear in front of the TV, watching boxed sets of Dexter on repeat?

This guy that we all look up to - this legendary rock star - is this what he has become?

I don't know. I find this hard to believe. So that begs the question - what does the guy do all day???

This is funny because these are the kind of questions non-millionaire people wonder about millionaires and it sorts of expose them.

There's a whole world made for millionaire and billionaires that none of us can even imagine and end up thinking Axl has this boring life in his mansion. Last year (and won't explain under what circumstances) I found out there are thousands of places around the world that are like "escapes" for the rich and famous.

Resorts, private clubs, private islands, exclusive hotels, even castles!! where you can go only if you belong to the selected cast of the wealth. These places are not advertised in your regular newspaper or TV channel. These kind of places operate only among the rich and famous. They don't allow journalists, papparazzis and offer the celebrities and wealthy people all warrants of a peaceful stay. They work hard to keep their millionaire clients satisfied.

You don't see Axl in mags and pictures because he's not out there mixing himself with the Z-list reality shows "celebs" or mortals like us. Once in a while he goes out to the "normal" places and they get a pic but most of the times, he could be at the Tibet right now and you wouldn't know. He has enough money to access these priviledge places none of us will ever get to find out.

It's useless and a bit sad to picture him as a disgraceful, lonely and reclusive guy just because our worlds are small and limited, and we don't know any better than watching tv and eating burgers.

  10. Is it possible to fix the ignore function so you don't see that a person posted and you don't see their posts if they're quoted?

What would be nice is that when you block someone not only you don't read their posts but they can't read yours either. That'd save a lot of contempt and animosity in the forum.
