My Mini Jubilee head 2525h model died two days ago. I was playing at 5w mode at home and suddenly the sound cut out. I immediatly closed the amp and tried to restart. When i turn the volume all the way up you can hear the amp very quietly. I decided to swap all tubes, fuze and even tried different extwnsion cap and the problem remains. Any suggestions? Maybe I should take it to a tech.

I would take it to a tech if you've swapped out the tubes and fuse; sound like someone needs to have a poke around.

  2. They are probably sat on piles of cash not giving a fuck. Even if they were going to write music, what would a group of multi-millionaires in their late fifties have to say? Aprat from There Was A Time, Axl hasn't written any decent lyrics since the UYI days; the majority of CD was self indulgent, vague and lazy lyrically. Take If The World as an example, where he actually sings "now there's nothing left to say"... They sound like words of a man on the hook to deliver an album after losing interest in it's content years earlier.

Granted, Slash can still churn out a decent riff, but I doubt he has another SCOM or WTTJ or even a Slither up his sleeve at this stage. Even less chance of a solo matching the standards of that era. Axl will continue doing shows until he is a falsetto whisper, Slash will continue releasing music as SMKC where he doesn't have to live up to his previous standards and the vague comments about new music will continue until someone dies.

I would love to be proved wrong!

Thanks Chief. You know I've never dropped acid to any of the tracks. I already knows what's going through my own head when I create this stuff so I can't figure what would happened THAT intense state LOL. I'm pretty 4:20 when I listen it to. Only track off of this I would get rid of is The Nightmare Hum. TOO busy and pitch shifted. But yeah man try it overall and lemme know how it goes LOL.

I don't remember that DJ Shadow track but there was one from The ORB that had the sound of a train, wheels screeching to a halt and somebody saying "Hold on wait a minute" The guy who is saying "it's happening again" isn't from this, by chance?

I haven't tripped in 20 years, pushed it too far one time and saw the limits of my conscious being, the levels of reality that exist below and on the edge of our own and a space station. Decided to call it a day on the LSD after that. That video clip is the right voice I think!

  4. I imagine this would be best when listened to in the throws of an actual acid trip! Some nice ambience/soundscapes going on here @Jabberwocky; I remember listening to DJ Shadow's Endtroducing when on acid, it was quite an experience - I "remember" the end of a song having the sound of a train approaching and a guy's voice saying "it's happening again. It is happening again" not sure if it's actually on the record. Got a feeling this record could help create similar memories!

A couple of nights after Leeds they played in London at a very small capacity arena and that wasn't sold out.

I went to that show at the Docklands, no one even knew who was in the band! Really weird show, they played a few CD songs and Think About You, but came on pretty late and people had been queuing/drinking for hours so the general mood was a bit deflated. And Buckethead did a weird nunchuck dance.

  6. I'd like to think that no one is holding out any realistic hope anymore for anything outside of merch and live shows. If they ever get new music out, it is likely to be CD Era Frankenstein songs but even if they do manage to put together something completely new I am not sure based on the majority of the CD lyrics that Axl will have anything interesting to say (not the same as having a good melody though, he didn't seem to struggle there).

Hell yeah man, I don't think I've ever heard Ever Cared. Love it. Your melodies are fantastic.

Thanks dude! I wrote that song back in 2013 (demo link below) and recorded it properly at the end of 2018. Did a remaster last week and got it up on Spotify.

I tried to do harmony with it but I couldn't match the pitch. I like it how it is with the lone voice. Goes with it lyrically too since it's about being sexually attracted to an otherworldy siren type of girl. The kind that would fuck your brains out but drink your blood at the same time.

Fair enough. She sounds like a keeper!
