I cannot believe people are still banging on about this fucking (F'n) algorithm nonsense. IT IS NOT AN ALGORITHM FFS. The self delusion and arrogance of GnR fans to think it's an algorithm specific to less than 100 people that has ONLY started appearing in the last week out of nowhere and does not affect any other band, is breathtaking. GnR are not a bigger streamed artist than many that have been mentioned and this does not happen to them. Jesus christ.

    lol

The algorithm works like this. I like The Clash. the algorithm says oh the clash? they were a punk band from the UK. So you will probably also like the sex pistols, the undertones, The Stranglers, Billy Idol etc. I like public Enemy? Oh they are a hip hop band from new york. you may also like notorious BIG and P diddy. You like highway to hell? well that song is in a classic rock playlists with 10 million listeners, so you will also probably like dream on by aerosmith or smoke on the water by deep purple. The algorithm does NOT work like this - state of grace. You typed in a taylor swift song, but you like GnR and 3 years ago a song called state of grace leaked by GnR. it's not released but you probably think it might be, so we're going to reccomend GnR to you. but only in the last week. the 3 previous years it didnt matter. I type the general - Oh you've typed the general? Well someone in Norway 4 days ago also typed the general. they like GnR and you like GnR. However, no other band you both like matters. Only GnR, so we're going to show you GnR as a recommendation.  LOL MOTHERFUCKERS. WAKE UP. The album is uploaded, but as we know in GnR land, doesnt mean new music is imminent

    lol

The endless comedy of this thread. I'll gladly shut my mouth when the "ALBUM" is released. But until then, this is pure entertainment.

  2. The band is already releasing the UYI mega super deluxe editions with a whopping 63 previously unreleased* tracks. Forget Spotify algorithms and such, and just think of it the way the band would:

It's been 14 years since CD's release. With 63 previously unreleased* tracks, that means they're making up for lost time (in their minds). So, 63 tracks divided by 14 years is...

4.5 brand new tracks per year! Not to mention they already released two shitty singles.

Therefore, they've already done way more on their end than we could ever possibly imagine. They're done for another 12-14 years at this point. Pack it up, folks.

He mixed the new November Rain but his 5.1 mix of the entire double album was rejected by the band.

    Good lord. This band...

So, not only do we not get to receive a package with all kinds of unreleased demos, alternate versions, etc. But now, after 30 years, we get to wonder what a 5.1 mix would've been like had it actually been released by the band?

I’ll be the first to admit it probably means nothing but fans have wanted this album for years. I agree we’re making this a bigger deal than it is but just let people hope.

I've wanted the album for years too. I'm allowed to laugh just as much as people are allowed to hope. It makes no difference. As I've said, once the songs are actually released, I'll be happy to listen.

Who says I'm upset? Those other bands mentioned have a different history, none of these bands have been highjacked by one member still pretending to be that band. And other than Axl, Slash and Duff no one in that current lineup counts or matters. But yes, those other members weren't really part of GNR until the day Slash and Duff returned. I don't have anything against the CD line up, they don't matter to me, I have something against them pretending to be GNR, when it really was just Axl and a bunch of musicians, who had nothing to do with GNR. Axl can swear up and down that that was GNR, but millions of people disagree. And deep down Duff and Slash and Izzy and Steven do too. At least the version without the latter 2 had some semblance of what GNR was/is. Strictly speaking not even the 3 really are GNR, but they still are a band with members that made that band legendary. But whatever. Believe what you want. I made my point and done arguing that.

So, Fortus, according to you, wasn't really part of GNR for all those years until Slash and Duff rejoined? Then he magically was part of GNR? Overnight? Imagine all that work he, and the others, have done over the years. Touring, recording, etc. Only to be thought of by, apparently "millions," who believe their existence in the band is only legitimized once former members return.

If that's truly what millions of fans think, then they're dumb as shit.

    My brain hurts.

Can people just focus on checking their streaming platforms for these 2 songs. We've got a guy in Aus saying it's appearing on his youtube music and no one is paying that any attention whilst you debate if gnr are a real or fake band.

Honestly, the searching on streaming platforms is a baseless conversation until the songs are actually available for listening. Until something comes to fruition, it's a non-starter. "Well, some people in the UK have searches showing GNR associated with [this song]." That's basically all that can be said at this point.

I'm just glad they're still around, they don't owe you a living, if you don't like them releasing nothing why are you on a fan forum, I've just bought a $100 dollar pair of jogging bottoms with 'Don't Cry' printed on them and they're awesome.

P.S. Even if they released a new album you'd probably hate it.

Pandemic, they already released two new songs (so, what more can you want?), Slash said some stuff in interviews eons ago about new music, so be patient, Axl sounds better during this 1.5 minute slice than he did during that other 1.5 minute slice at that other show, etc.
