  1. Does not take long for these threads to go completely off topic and we find ourselves back to bitching about the band or their management like we do, 5 pages into any new thread or topic.

As my uncle would say, leave that shit at the door, when you come in...

How about i get things back on topic.

Social media reaction in New Zealand to the band returning has been positive.

Really great to see a lot of fans planning road trips from the North Island to the South Island with most planning on seeing the band twice.

Already sorted accommodation in Wellington and about 6 of us are planning to hire camper vans, get the ferry to Picton and drive to Dunedin with our families.

Last thing to sort out is tickets and only 5 days to go until I can get my hands on those puppies.

  2. Thank god the boarders are closed in New Zealand, and we dont have to deal with the bitching in person while attending the shows. Even if the boarders were open half of you bitching would not travel to see the band outside of your own shores.

Plenty of Australians and New Zealanders have travelled far a field to see this band play..

Maybe because we don't expect them to return to this part of the world again so we are making the most of it..

The band will sell out the venues and people attending the shows will rook out and enjoy themselves.

I am looking forward to November 2021.

  3. Welcome back to New Zealand Guns N Roses.

No doubt 40,000 kiwis will role up and will enjoy an opportunity to see the band live, some since 2017 and others for the first time.

The family and I don't need to travel the world to see the band.

A simple flight from Auckland to Wellington and then down South.

    Rock on 2021.

New album or go the fuck away for good...

it’s incredibly disrespectful to the fans illusions stuff isn’t accessible already.

So you are saying its disrespectful of the band to treat the fans in a certain way, but then you tell the band, "or go the fuck away for good..."

Yep, if thats being respectful, then you wounder why the band acts like it does towards certain fans, more so fans who are happy to tell people, whom they have never meet or have no involvement in their daily lives to go the F**k away for good...

  5. There are so many layers involved and lots of moving parts before you even reach the artists themselves in this case GNR.

Promotors, venues, industry related business as sound, lighting, staging, transportation etc may not be able to survive financially to supply a service as a business.

Even employee's associated with the artists themselves may not be able to survive as all involved will feel the affects of the financial crisis.

The process starts at the bottom and works its way to the top.

If a promotor can no longer supply a service, to a booking agent, than a booking agent cannot secure a show for their client an artist. The promotor cannot supply a service to a venue, so the venue cannot hold an event. If the venue cannot hold an event, than that will affect, venue employees, merchandise sellers, suppliers of sound, staging, transportation, etc.

That ultimately affects the artists and the people they employ.

The fans are than impacted via a tour not happening, and the ability to see their favourite artist aka GNR.

There is more to it, than how Axl looks or sounds.

The music industry interms of live touring will never be the same for many different reasons.

I can't believe he would be that out of touch with what's going on.

We would he know whats going on. The bands management team aren't tour promotors or the bands booking agent.

The promotor in each country would manage the refund process or in the case of the booking agent they would facilitate that process and be the link to the band via there management team.

The bands management would pass any concern onto the booking agent, who would than contact the promotor in relation to a refund.

Promotors often hold funds from the sale of tickets in a holding account and must wait for a period of time for those funds to be cleared and released into their bank accounts. In the event of a cancellation or unforseen circumstances preventing an event taking place those funds are available as refunds. It all depends on the terms and conditions of purchase listed on the tickets.. in relation to a refund policy..

    Yes

Exactly. If they weren't in GnR no one would know or care who they are.

Unfortunately some cannot resist the need to belittle current band members and their skills.

Actually the only people who seem obsessed are those people in a thread who have chosen to focus on a song, who's rightfull owner can do as they please, with whom ever they choose to in relation to playing any  instrument.

What ever you guys think is irrelevant.

If the topic of the interview had been about a particular song and Franks involvement in that song, than have at it, as Frank has opened the door for people to admire or for criticism..

That was not the case with this interview..

It just being an addition to nu-gnr is bullshit. If you go back to 91 onwards it was 3 of what is now considered the classic line up. It is yet again 3 of what was the classic line up.

The band regardless of the line up have never been that productive over time in terms of output. Even if you go back to the start they kept songs for later releases. It took 5 years between AFD - Illusions. Lies was makeshift at best. Illusions featured stuff written before AFD.

We can moan and hate all we like, but all I care about is that the 3 that ran it at its peak are together again and touring as successfully as they can. If we get new music, great. If not, fuck it, I'm seeing them when I can.

I think hatred towards any member past or present is stupid, as they keep it all going.

Seems silly given the members themselves have all moved on and it's all water under the bridge for each of them as individuals.

Even past members no longer involved have moved on and seem content in life..

It is bizarre! I know there was limited cameras, but still very surprising! when I saw them on that tour Axl was on the screens as much as Slash. It's not just here though, I have read loads of comments "Someone tell the editor that Slash isn't the lead singer" being the most common joke.

For next time more Axl footage, better mix... preferably 2016😁

Some of you need to get a grip on reality.

I always find reading these threads interesting as common sense tends to go out the door.

So the fans are now controlling the cameraman, sound engineer, mixer and editor of the clips uploaded. Why not throw in controling the direction of wind and the moon at any given time while you are at it.

Until some realise they cannot control what others do, or understand the concept of that's something out side of my control, they will never be content.

Maybe all involved were simply doing there jobs and you as the fans had no involvement in that' job or control over that end product.

Why some of you get so court up in things you have no involvement in or control over, I simply don't get.

No-one with an ounce of common sense could have expected these shows to happen.

But you do wonder whether anyone in GnR management actually has any common sense.

There are still links to buy tickets to the European shows on their website!

And the bands booking agent would be dealing with the local promotor, who would be waiting for official confirmation from the government, who would be taking directives from health agencies.

The band, their management, their booking agent and local promotor cannot control what other countries governments implement around COVID-19 policies.

They are all at the mercy of those who have the control over these matters.

Why make an official announcement on somthing you cannot control.

Australia and New Zealand have closed their borders to all international travellers and that is common knowledge. Clearly an artist, a band, a booking agent and local promotor would understand that touring these countries is not possible at this time. Hence why its an easy decision to postpone or cancel via official public statements by an artist, a band or there representatives.

  11. The current management, manage the bands touring and day to day business.

To offer some balance, the bands current management team, managed the second grossing tour of all time.

Its ok to give credit when its due.

A record label A & R  and or the band would manage album or music related business as was the case during the making and release of CD.

TB have never publicly stated they are the bands legal representatives, record label executives or acting on behalf of the bands record label as their Artist and Represention agents.

Tom Zutaut was that person in the past as the bands A & R representative, separate from the than band's management team BFD that Doug Goldstein was apart of.

We're complaining because it isn't genuine. It's just a cringeworthy catchphrase that means nothing. We've seen how TB actually treats the 'GNR fam'. They treat them with disdain, they pull their videos off the internet, and they don't give a fuck about any type of community engagement.

If anyone is offended by a phrase that they have every right to think of and add to their own soical media platform for there own business brand than that's on them....

The band and its people can do what they like..

You have a choice accept it or ignore it.

I and most of the world don't care about something so insignificant, with all that is going on in the world currently.

Due to the latest events, we have decided to postpone the release of our latest double album. We want to avoid large crowds of people in front of music stores. Thanks for your understanding. Your Team Brazil

You do realise TB is not a record label or the bands A & R representatives? any release of any form of music would be prompted by the record label themselves. I cannot understand why people don't understand the difference between TB who manage the bands day to day operations,  the bands booking agents, the bands legal representatives and  a record labels artist & representation person who overseas the musical elements on behalf of the record label.

TB to my knowledge have never identified themselves as the bands legal representative, A & R representative, booking agent or the management team of individual band members.

Guns n Roses is managed by Team Brazil as clearly stated on the Guns n Roses website.

The record label will be the entity behind any official announcement in coordination with the band, not via fan internet forums, Reddit etc through random account users or dark web insiders.

TOOL have awesome, professional communication towards the fans going on fb. Updates on postponements etc. Every time I see something like this, I wonder what it would take for GNR to be able to do something similar. This band is just... impossible.

Because tool are currently on tour and would be in a position to receive information from governments and local promotors while in the process of touring. Tool were in New Zealand a few weeks ago where the situation has changed  in relation to coronavirus and travel restrictions being put in place.

GNR cannot control what happens in other countries via decisions made by a President or Prime Minister, local health authorities etc from being located in Los Angeles.

It's out of the bands hands what happens in regards to touring in other countries.

Local promotors will be awaiting directives from governments along with finding out whether they can process refunds and more than likely whether an insurance provider will cover any loss or claims.

The foo fighters were left high and dry when they were court up in terrorism alerts  because they weren't covered by insurance for a threat of terroristm when they cancelled shows.

That has now changed and most artists and their individual insurance providers would have that written into their coverage plan.

I would suggest coronavirus would not covered by an insurance company.

It will be left in the hands of the bands booking agent to work through all the issues involved as it's the booking agent that books the shows not the band themselves.

Fuck TB. I really wish slash and duff been exposed to probably different management representation dont influence axl to have  a different band management team. They are members of now, a top tier touring band that that should have top tier band management representation. I dont know why they dont bring merck or azoff back onboard again. They could not be any worse than TB.

What has TB got to do with this?.They like any other country, government, business, entity or individual persons have no control over a virus. All have not been prepared for this situation. I would recommend you focus on something more important, then something so minor as the bands management team or individual band members choices of whom represents them, compared to what is happening in relation to this virus and Its affect on the world at large including to peoples daily life's and its financial impact around the world.

    Get some perspective...

  16. The reason for cancellations for many events is the mix of persons (artists, motorsport team personnel, tennis players etc) entering into a  country from other countries around the world and then uplifting and moving onto another country with the same personnel in tow.

Logistically and from a financial perspective cancelling a musical tour from its inception is in the best interests of the local promotor and the artists themselves. You could not tour, then skip countries with entry bans in place or put personnel at risk of either getting the virus or self isolation in another country.

The Formula One community, the promotor of the Australian grand prix and the Australian government have just learnt the hard way by 3 members of two different F1 teams (based in two different countries) being placed in self isolation due to precautions.

Those F1 team members are stuck in Australia for 14 days, while the F1 teams travel to Bahrain for the next event a week later.

Good shout but I don't think Matt was impressed. If Corey Taylor wasn't good enough I don't think there's many out there that'd cut it.

I'm grateful I made the most of the VR years and saw a lot of gigs. When you think about it VR only lasted 4 years which is less than the current Guns reunion. 2 albums to Zero

Unfortunately different era of the music industry. The industry has changed and evolved and making albums isn't the bread and butter of the music industry any more. Touring is were the money is generated in today's music industry for all artists. The promoters have the leverage over artists, as the demand is in people wanting to buy concert tickets then albums leaving record labels powerless compared to the control labels had in the music industry over the past decades.

  18. There was a time when you formed an opinion on a person when you meet them in person, interact and than make your own judgement based on that interaction with the individual.

Unfortunately today, that is not the case  with social media and other avenues available, people resort to basing their opinion on irrelevant information or read to much into things, that does not offer a true picture of one's character.

I have had the opportunity to meet Duff and his wife, plus Richard in person, and will form my opinion on my interaction with them.

Duff and Susan. Polite, funny and very open minded. Wanted to know more about my country and culture. Respect for taking the time to learn more in life adding to one's life experiences.

Richard. Nice guy, spoke at length about his touring schedule, dude goes for a jog/run each morning when on tour. Respected the fact i had my 8 year old son with me, and turned his attention from me to making my son a happy young man.

  19. Until the fans accept the fact, they have no control over what the band does or how they go about it, the easier it will become to accept the reality of the situation.

The fact people post on here and state they have no intention of attending, and than rip the band for ticket prices, no new music, no new title name for the tour etc.

Thats your choice for what ever reason it maybe, to not pay and attend any upcoming shows. You have total control over your own decision-making process.

The band cannot control what you do, and you have no control over what they the band choose to do either.

You guys make it so hard on yourselfs by not understanding the fact you can complain all you want, but nothings going to change as you aren't the ones in control of the situation, the band and its members are the ones in control, as if the tour does not sell well and is a failure or is a financial success, the band and its members are the ones affected, not you.

Amazing.  With that video they're congratulating themselves for completing the last massive 4 year long odyssey with....another massive tour outing?  Congrats fellas.

    This fucking band.

Why get so bothered?. Does it have any affect on your daily life or in some way financially help or hinder you personally?.

I would suggest the only people that are affected by the band touring are the band themselves or people directly involved.

If a 4 year odyssey is not successful based on not making any money or as history has shown, future touring around the world will be a financial success, than that will only affect the band, its members and the people directly involved in the tour.

They are the ones personally affected by what the band does, even if the fans don't agree with the reasons why or methods behind what the band are doing.

To many people worry about what the band is doing.

In the scope of our daily lifes, that includes family and work commitments, what the band does or does not do, is small in comparison.

    The question is.

Do you guys think the band worries about what you think or just gets on with life..

That was an Arena though right? So why would they go back and do a stadium? Why not an Arena again?

I can't see why they'd think they could sell MORE tickets this far into the tour......

Sure they don't have to sell it out, but if their drawing power is nearly filling Arenas, why spend extra hiring a Stadium and having empty seats?

Not if Live Nation are the promotors. They don't lose money as everything is done internally including ticket sales.

Thats why artists and bands tour so much in today's music industry. That's were the money is.

Live Nation have more power and can offer more financial incentives than record labels these days, as an artist can get more of a return via profit than selling albums.

    Thats what people dont understand.

Live Nation, the GNR booking agent and the band all receive a cut. Its a win, win situation for all.

The record labels are the ones on the outside looking in.

UMG don't get a cent out of the band touring and the band don't owe them anything in return.

The days of labels offering millions of dollars on album advances has long gone. Labels know in today's music industry they will never see a return on that investment.

Thats why the are powerless in todays music industry.

Take Ed Sheeran. An artist who takes other peoples music, spits out a new album every 3 months and tours on the back of these albums. That the new way record labels are controlling an Artist to make money these days.

Do they usually have photographic studio lights during rehearsals? That's what I was trying to point out in the photo.

They are not lighting stands. The stands in the background are stands for the antennas for the  in ear monitors, wireless systems the guys use on the guitars or microphones.

They will have a number of these stands and antennas placed around the stage.

The signals come off the wireless packs attached to them (in ear transmitter) or the guitars, hit the antennas and then get direct to the receivers either in their guitar racks or to the in ear monitor sound engineers tech pit area  (guys at side of stage).

There is a very informative rig rundown for the Metallica guys, we're they explain about having to position the wireless antennas to cover the whole stage and hide them from view.

  23. Simple: they have done the same NITL tour around the world, twice.

They have not toured the world twice, some countries yes, others once or not at all.

Without anything new in all these years, it just has become a nostalgia act and money grab thing.

All artists make their money touring in today's music industry.

Simply going were the money is based on supply and demand is not money grabbing.

Apart from us fans, that make up a small minority on the expectations of new music or an album, the band don't need either, as the majority don't care.

Thats the thing people need to understand and put into perspective.

The world is not concerned about a new Guns N Roses album.

The band sells out live shows with a large majority being causal fans, not us hard core fans who make up a percentage of the audience.

To the majority, the rock music genre is dead and buried, with EDM, pop or any other music genre being the most popular amongst the majority.

The music industry today, is not what it was in the past.

If the majority wanted or demanded a new GNR album, than we would have one already, based on supply and damand.
