  1. I don't know about that. Last time he came to the UK he did 3 or 4 theatre sized venues in different cities.....this time nearly all Arenas, which apparently didn't sell too well. Theatres is his level these days I think. As for setlists.....well, if people go expecting GNR songs, that's on them really. He hasn't done more than one for a couple of tours, and if they cared enough they could easily find that out before they buy a ticket. It's a SMKC show, and, rightly, that's what the set is.
  2. Couldn't agree more on all those aspects. The live music world is very different (and worse in my view) for those of us able to remember how it was.
  3. Decent review there- I did have those fears with him doing Arenas. It doesn't feel like an Arena show to me. Interesting about the crowd- I saw GNR in Glasgow last year and it was one of the flattest, quietest, most bland crowds I've ever been in, which was bizarre given Scotland's reputation and the fact pit tickets were so expensive. Perhaps things are changing up in Scotland in regards to crowds?
  4. An absolutely incredible Always On The Run probably, although the first run of four or five songs was great too....
  5. Go for it! Which one you going to go to? The Myles/Axl stuff is a waste of time. He's a great performer, puts everything in, different style. I like both singers! .
  6. Went to Newcastle and it was ridiculously good. Small theatre venue, so much energy, just phenomenal. Honestly, just get a ticket if you can- I promise you won't regret it. It's good he's not playing GNR stuff in my view. He plays this stuff with so much energy there would be no point whatsoever in seeing him run through SCOM on autopilot. It's not GNR- and the show is all the better for that. Totally different vibe now yeah - fast, heavy rock show. Get a ticket for somewhere if you can!
  7. Went to see Slash this week and me and a friend were discussing it and how much fun it would be! Sadly I can't remember who it was either......
  8. What happened to that fist fight that was going to happen? @JimiRose, do you remember? I'm keen to see it. This summer hopefully?
  9. Yep. It is probably inevitable though that they're going to drop the set length at some point anyway I imagine.
  10. Oh, no chance are GNR opening for anyone. I could see a 'double headliner' thing happening though, even though GNR would probably go on last so it would feel more like them having a big support band.
  11. That's all fair enough, especially coming from someone that has seen them so many times over the years. I get a bit more now why people have a problem with them!
  12. Ok, the not playing live thing is a fair criticism! The behaviour stuff.....I mean GNR aren't exactly saints in terms of some of their past behaviour! Musically, yeah, GNR are way more my thing, but that's just a taste thing surely?
  13. Other than personal preferences on the music, I don't see that much difference between Motley Crue and GNR really. I don't really get why people don't like Motley Crue to the level they do, again, other than preferring the music of GNR. If we're talking 'musically credible band' stuff, surely Motley Crue might even surpass GNR- they've done way more albums.
  14. I could see this happening a few years down the line. GNR can sell enough tickets on their own to not have to do it, but give it time.....
  15. 'The hat and the curls underneath' took them back to playing stadiums rather than half empty halls. As for the bit about Axl recording a smash hit with another guitarist..... let's let him start with doing one with the current guitarist. Who happens to be one of the best in world.
  16. Oh yeah, they'd be done. But then I imagine, he wants a nice easy life and a lucrative touring job.....so, he's probably highly unlikely to put his foot down, just in case. As it stands, everyone involved seems to be happy, and everyone involved is making a lot of money. As long as that continues I can't see any boats being rocked at all, from any party.
  17. Yeah, it is not really worth it. The suggestion that the band could carry on without Slash did get me though- can you imagine?! "You wanted 2024 GNR? Well they couldn't make it! So here's what you get instead......from the fevered dreams of the GNR forums.....it's 2012 GNR!"
  18. Doesn't matter in the slightest. It's Axl's band, he calls all the shots, and that's about all we need to know anyway really. That and when the new album is out of course.......
  19. Sure. Plenty to read about it online, but I'm done debating it round and round on here!
  20. Have a look at those articles posted. It's not wrong at all - you can be a partner and an employee, depending on many factors. I mean this place is full of opinions, and all the better for it, but it is tiresome when people just say 'wrong' without reading the facts.
  21. Again, that doesn't mean they're not employees. Plenty to read on the matter, but I don't think that's going to happen! https://aghlc.com/resources/articles/2016/partners-as-employees-160822.aspx
