Personally, I don't want Slash to play just like the record but there's some stuff that just doesn't sound right at all to me. Taking Chinese Democracy songs out of the argument, look at Slash's recent renditions of his own Yesterdays solo. Just awful IMO. It's not that it doesn't sound like the record, it's that Slash doesn't sound like he gives a remote shit. Just my opinion
Yeah fair enough.
I guess it is quite a subjective thing also.
Some will love an improvised version - others won't.
I love Slash's TWAT and TIL (2016 at least) whereas others on this site have been apalled by them.
We all will have our own opinions (just that I'm right and evryone else is wrong )

I've never been able to understand why anyone would want Slash (or anyone) to play studio solos note for note night after night.
How incredibly boring.
Just put the cd on and stay home if thats what you want.

Not even close to any quality filter.. I am convinced that no one in the band watches these things before they are released.. How could they?? If they did, then they obviously don't give a fuck.. If they didn't, then they obviously don't give a fuck.. Shame on Slash and Duff for being a part of all this.. They never liked Axl dragging the GnR name through the mud all those years and now they are just as guilty..
They should just cancel the tour and Axl can pretend that it was booked without his knowledge.. He has done it in the past..
I've always wondered how you maintain such a positive outlook.
Your regular posts are like a ray of sunshine in my life.

TWAT sounded amazing!
Best thing they've released since 1991!
Axl needs to sit down more.
He can have a power wheelchair if he still wants to move around.

Silkworms could be re-worked into something special. My guess is the best version of it is likely the now discarded mix with the full vocal take we heard live in 2001 and 2002 with Bucket's parts.
I do like the shorter intro in the leaked Bumble version. I do miss Josh's drums from the RM1 version though, his drums were killer.
Drums 0.5db up or down?

Coldplay is pop.
Just because you're a band that has drums, guitar and bass does not make you a rock band.
I have not heard a single coldplay song that sounds anything like rock to me - that includes that violet hill crap previously mentioned.

Coldplay are one of the biggest bands on Earth. And, the band plays Guitar, Bass, and Drums so it’s rock.
None of these things you have mentioned are in any way exclusive to rock.

Luckily for us all it's not over!!
As they said before their last concerts - It's the next chapter!!
Which seems to mean you play the same songs in the same order but soundcheck a "new" song.
What a time to be alive!

What an absolute cunt. Telling people what they can and cannot talk about?
Why, god, why. Why us, why GN'R? Why couldn't F'nando have happened to some other band?
Somebody send him to Nickleback!!!

I think it's an OK song but it really doesn't sound like GnR to me.
It would definitely need a bit of work to make it more interesting in my opinion.
I think the love for it is more an indication that we are getting desperate.

If anyone should write an unauthorized biography of Axl's life, it's the people on here.
ACT 1
Axl enters the room - he's cracking jokes and appears less bloated.
Axl: Hey F'n Slash, how the f'n hell are ya? Rock n F'n roll!"
etc.....

A decision based entirely on image - not talent.

They'd prefer us to be listening to the trash they released the other day!

I can't believe they actively get Saskatoon removed but allow this stuff to be released.
There is nothing redeemable about any of these performances.
If there is anyone alive that enjoys the current 15 minute KOHD I'm yet to meet them!
It's all very disappointing.

"They play 3 hour shows, you should be grateful!"
Playing for 3 hours just so you can say you play for 3 hours does not make the show more enjoyable or "worth the money". There are several songs that just sound flat out bad with this lineup... if they played for 3 hours and sounded good for most of the show it'd be fine, but that's not the case.
That said, I don't really care because I won't see them live again until they offer something new. I'm not interested in paying for a NITL show again... I saw them 12 times between 2010 and 2017 and enjoyed all the shows, but 2017 was a noticeable decline and it's gotten so much more stale since then.
Saw the chili peppers a couple of years ago - they are down to sets of about 16 songs.
1.5 hours. Super energetic and fun set. Left everyone wanting more - but in a good way.
I always thought longer was better but that concert really changed my mind. Quality over quantity.

What would dizzy do then? Make the tea during WTTJ?
I happen to like the 3 guitar sound and I enjoyed Stinson on bass.
Duff is a guitarist. I can't see the problem, it might upset a few mullets that Duff is on guitar and not bass. But it wouldn't be the first time a member of a band switched instruments.
People like to whinge theres no izzy. I like to whinge theres no stinson and a thinner 2 guitar sound.
Dizzy would be too busy concentrating on his vocals.
Meanwhile Axl will be providing interpretive folk ballet accompaniment.
Stinson would have to content himself with the hand towel waving.

Edit: Though it was obvious he was out after Duff covered for him.
I still think Slash should play the drums n have ashba on guitar. Frank could then focus on the bongos.

I must say Slash's solo from the latest release was very disappointing.
Just shredding like crazy with no melody.
And people say its Frank's fault the band plays too fast!
