I went off on a tangent with 'great friends'....

I suppose conplexity does not lend itself to 'great friendship'.

God and did that turn into an event with Axl and Vince talking planning to have a fight on a suitable date to both of them...I wonder if it was real or a publicity thing.

The more I read about Axl and Kurt the more I become convinced they had more in common than not and could have been great friends, two complex human beings that would have had an understanding of each other.   Anybody else think the same?

Yes you are correct about appearance etc, I was trying to make a point but cant remember what it was 

Well...the posters were polite, thanking him for his time, and he replied with as much coldness and contempt as he could muster.  Axl not only does not look anything like his younger self but has also lost the part of himself that got excited about music and wrote lyrics that spoke from the heart and hung around ones' soul.  Its gone and we are left with his management team who have no interest in ccommunicating with the fan base and a man that used to incite all kinds of emotion and excitement  to one who does not care anymore.  I dont blame him as many people go through tragedy and pain to   become a  jaded figure.

I have been reading through the posts as far back as 2014 and exactly the same sentiment is being expressed time after time.

I cant help feeling Fernando gets his attitude from Axl, simple as that.  Why Axl is the way he is to his fans, god knows.

This.  I know Fernando is blamed for alot of stuff going wrong but from my perspective, not being on the board for very long, it seems it is more about Axl, initially Fernando  seemed to be quite happy  with the selects then a pause then we are told  no more, as if someone had questioned tham.  Also with discord.  Most people have been here for a long time and as a consequence have more awareness of the workings of GNR, so why do you think most TB stuff is down to Fernando and not Axl?

There seems to be a few threads regarding next years tours with the Europe thread being closed.  So could someone direct me a thread for comments about EU.  Basically I am just wondering if Europe is going to get a tour...

As it turned out to be Axls' last performance for many years and all the negative stuff that was going on in his lifek maybe he was in no fit state to hang around.  As they had no idea they were going to perform beforehand I thought they were both pretty good.

Wow I have just watched Axl dueting with Tom Petty and Axl was just phenomenal!!   Axl, back then, was the most exciting performer ever and nobody has managed anything similar since...

Anyone who saw Guns back then (apart from being very lucky) what was your experience like?

There's no point in arguing with any fan who thinks Axl simply isn't interested in releasing new music anymore (and I can understand why some feel that way after 12 years of nothing) but I don't think it's cause he doesn't want to do it so there's still a chance it might happen imo.

I have become a cynic which I thought I wouldnt but after reading historic posts where I came accross the same refrain over and over again, 'when do we get new music', I had to conclude that new music is highly unlikely.

Wow since I joined the forum I feel as I have entred some bizarre, mind altering game where the prize is nothing.  Duffs' wife says yea great music on the way, Slash says we have to find a way to listen to it, Fenando, Jarmo and probably more tell us something that is actually nothing....aaaargh!  I dont think we are getting anything, just my intuition but I dont think Axl has any interest in his music from the past or the future.  What the 'big three' are up to is not about music but doing Axl a favour for whatever reason , making a bit of cash, free round the world trip, oh and did I say making a bit of money.  Whatever, its not about music.  Sad but they did say they were dangerous.

I particularly  love the pic of Slash and Steve, after all these roller coaster years some mutual affection...all great to see.

God that is so sad.

Why on earth does it matter!

I wondered how Slash felt about Axl's voice, he doesnt listen to it.  What I dont understand is Axl himself and how he feels abouut it, surely he must know how bad he can sound or maybe he just doesnt care anymore.

Gosh, normally I love CC, but not here.  I just dont like this cover, there is too much going on and compared to Axl's voice his sounds like a dirge.  Just another opinion.
