I think that's what they want you to believe, and have been working on for decades now! it's definitely more than a few hicks down south. They have affiliates all over the world! lots of right wing people who associate with their ideals.

So GNR eh... anyone see Slash's latest post :D

Nobody has caught on.  How recent is this post?  If very recent then it could be potentially exciting, certainly deserves some attention.

He is a public figure, but what he is saying is 'just because i'm famous, it doesn't mean i know better than you' and I appreciate when any public figure says that. I can't stand the hollywood people coming out saying their usual babble for the cameras, feigning compassion for the everyman! "We know what's good for you". I don't for a second believe Axl is in still touch with the everyman, but I think he at least remembers what it was like to be broke as shit and having to fend for himself.

There are some people who hate when musicians speak out, and sometimes I hate it too! but in this instance there's nothing here that I disagree with! if leadership isn't going to try and help people then respected musicians and public figures AND normal people have to step in and do what they can!

    Totally agree.

I though Twitter was exactly the place to make a stand regarding politics or anything else (I have never used it)  so what is the problem with Axl using this platform.  Interesting in how hhe sees himself as 'nobody' just a normal man, obviously been doing some work reducing the 'rock star' ego.

Dijon is beautiful, I am a member of the cat society on facebook which is where I saw it first.

    This is from 2001:

(I guess the fans who had signed it didn't imagine that there would be 6 years until the album was released).

This what the official GnR site looked like in February 2003 (the news section hadn't been updated since Sept. 2002 and there were still the 2002 tour dates):

    https://web.archive.org/web/20030227081652/http://www.gnronline.com/news/index.asp

Then in March 2003 it was updated with this message:

    https://web.archive.org/web/20030801075433/http://www.gnronline.com/news/index.asp

(Guess what: there would be no news and information for the next three years)

Really interesting,, I think the chaos is a reflection of Axls' mind, it must be torture for him at times.  Do you know whether Axl responded to the petition or not?

Nothing. This band is long past the point of doing anything but the occasional tour, and they're either not savvy enough or willing enough to embrace things like an active and open social media presence or unique online events during the Covid era. I'd say we might get ONE brand new song from the band before they eventually call it quits, but I don't see them ever going into a studio to bang out a full length album.

    This...

  5. Will Guns n Roses become invisible until they can tour again, whenever that is going to be?  They will not be doing themselves any favours by not being 'active' as when tours can start again  the menu will be saturated and will Guns be able to compete, especially at filling out arena's.  I really  think they should not take the public for granted as the world of music will be quite different, it is more important now more then ever that they become  pro-active to keep their fan-base interested.

  6. I am just watching a news item on the awful state Brazil is in due to corvid and a President who doesnt give a damn.  Somebody asked him about the numbers of dead and his response was 'I am no grave digger'!  It then occured to me that Beta and Fernando are Brazilian which makes me wonder have they lost family there?  His comment would make sense then as well as the long wait for vids etc.

  7. I read the comments first so did not know what to expect.  I enjoyed it and found Axl to be more animated then I expected, I have not been to a GnR concert yet, and after seeing this I would definately go.  I know it would not be the same as the early days but I think its all about expectations, it is 30 years since the beginning.  Thanks Fernando.
