I'm getting more and more convinced that Fernando's unofficial engagements with fans and Susan's "uncalled" update are not unrelated to each other.

I wouldn't be surprised if Duff coordinates this unofficial updating, since there can't be an official one.

Absolutely.  Without any concerts this year maybe they feel the need to keep some 'momentum' going, to sell tickets next year and  keep interest..

Gosh Fernando  doesnt seem to understand the frustration felt over the childrens book, but maybe we dont understand his reasons for the decisions he makes.  This is where respectful communication could take a role although I understand  it has been tried many times from the forum to no avail.   Where do we go from here I wonder...

Axl’s reply Tweet was embarrassing. It’s like it was wrote by a 12yr old.

Notoirous recluse Axl Rose, who lives in a big ass house in the Hills, backs the continued lockdown...of course he does. Nothing will change for Axl. Means he doesn’t have to get his fat ass of the sofa to do another round of the tour.

Why so verbally abusive?  Wow no wonder he keeps away from social media...

Norwegian media can help themselves form gloating about how much poorer Sweden are doing. I feel a bit ashamed about it. This is not a time to for sibling rivalry.

And on the flip-side Sweden are getting closer to develop herd immunity. I mean, they have had more deaths than us, but in the end we might have the same fatality rate. So the difference might simply be that they get through it quicker than us and can go back to normalcy sooner, whereas we spread it out more. I suppose you can compare it to slowly creeping out in cold water or just taking the plunge. As long as health care systems can deal with the workload and you don't have infected dying because of inadequate care (which we have seen in Italy), then it doesn't matter that much when the deaths come (what a horrible line of thought, really, when we are dealing with people who might live months longer with Norway's strategy).

Then comes vaccine. If we can keep this on the low-burn with a minimum of fatalities until a vaccine is developed, then we can get out of this quite unscathed, whereas Sweden will end up having many more dead.

Originally, Norway and Sweden's strategies seemed more polar: We wanted to eradicate the disease in Norway, they wanted to just suppress it somewhat. Now we have realized that we can't eradicate it, and that the costs of the restrictions are terrible (and we are not just talking about monetary costs of business closing, we are also talking about children who suffer from domestic violence, children who can't learn what they need to learn, suicides from job-loss and furloughs, etc), so we have started to go more in the direction of just suppressing it. Sweden are experiencing higher fatalities than expected (especially at care homes for the elderly) and have therefore gradually increased their restrictions. So now our strategies are getting more aligned. We learn from our experiences. We all learn from our experiences. We learn from Finland, too, and Italy, and China. We are all in this together and no one knows what is the right thing to do. Different countries employ different strategies, based on different theories and different conditions (population density, demographics, health care capacity, etc). In the end we all work for the same goal.

And it is not like epidemiologists are all speaking with one voice. Here in Norway there is clear dissense among the experts on what is the best strategy. Quite dismaying. Only yesterday one of our leading newspapers again had an article where a professor was allowed to blast the government's strategy, using large fonts and "heading for catastrophe." No wonder people are anxious and afraid to let their children back to kindergarden and school.

Informative post, thanks.  We in the UK are experiencing the same kind of societal symptoms; domestic abuse has gone through the roof, neglected and abused children have no voice, suicide rate has increased and the homeless have almost been forgotten.  I worry about the easing of restrictions, especially opening schools at this moment in time, but I am also aware of the plummeting economic situation.  Wow what a conundrum those who make the decisions have.

Wow If that makes you feel better. His point is not to treat covid patients is they went to to the beach. If you agree with the recluse, say so

What the f*** has being a recluse got to do with axls' post (not that somebody who tours the world as the front man of a band would be seen as a recluse)  He made a straightforward point using sarcasm to hightlight it...and that is all!  Chill out...

I wouldn't mind a sighting of Duff in the vicinity of a recording studio.

    absolutely!

I know nothing about wrestling but enjoying the thread, wrestling was really popular in the UK many years ago, how popular has it become in the US?

  7. No 'looking up to' on my part, I just want as many people as possible to be made aware of this particular situation and as I am a 'political animal' I am interested in the view of others.  Why its thought by some that so called 'celebrities' should refrain from voicing their political beliefs  I do not know, they have every right as anybody else to do so and if you dont like it dont listen.
