  1. As only just 'discovered' GnR I am working my way through their musical history.  I noticed comment on a thread citing  Axl singing Rod Stewarts' Sailing, I have just had a listen and am totally blown away and goose bumped:wow:   He sounds just amazing, what are your memories, thoughts etc

The critical responses are fueled by an underlying massive love for GNR. Its just doesn’t sound good. This is music, so that’s an issue.

This is one of the richest, largest, most storied bands in history. People don’t have around this forum to hand out participation ribbons to Fernando. Props to him getting some points on the board, but pointing out this is the absolute floor of the potential of NITL media releases and quality is just the truth.

    Great post...

Came here to see what everyone was saying about the NITL tour video being posted

Remembered why I stopped visiting GN'R forums. It ALWAYS devolves into "NO MY FAVORITE ERA OF THE BAND IS THE BEST! (BAND MEMBER) SUCKS HERE! (MY FAVORITE BAND MEMBER) IS THE SUPERIOR ONE!"

    Always. Without fail.

    Hi

What would you have liked to see?

The way I interpret this thread is one of friendly discussion from folk who love this band and have done for a long time.  Just my take and I have found it interesting.

  4. To cite what other bands are doing may not be helpful simply due to differing life experiences, personalities, mental health etc  Also I am not sure why Fernando and TB should get the blame for the band not doing what we want them to, I am sure new music etc is down to band members, were they managing at the time of the reunion, if so I think this is a pretty big deal.

How could that make any difference ?

A forum only talking about past and positiv things (aka NIGHTRAIN/HTGTH forum) would'nt change the current overall situation.

Doesn't the fact, that people on here, are critical discussing the actual situation of the band, shows for sure, that there are fans that do care about what's going on?

    This is true....l

  6. I understand wanting private lives to be off limit but why the plans of the group?  Is it just that there is nothing to say as Guns is not a creative bunch of people anymore?

There is so much negativity on here that blasts one in the face when first joining (not a criticism as I have only been around a few months and not had to experience constant disappointments) I wonder if we all started being positive and discussing what they have done that was good it would make any difference, lthough I imagine this would only be interesting to new folk.  tJust trying to think of something that would get Axl's juices going again but I doubt fans are significant enough to be of help which I understand.  Maybe the only fans they are interested in are non-verbal.   I suppose, at the end of the day, we have to accept the situation however frustrating and sad this is.  It seems they may just be a band from the past.  I  listened to Appetite a few months ago and was blown away and so couldnt wait to hear more stuff from there, I didnt know the situation back then!

    Just meandering thoughts.

  7. Obviously Fernando is not very well liked here!   I am not too sure what being so negative will accomplish and as a new person here it has made me feel rather sorry for him.   I find it so disrespectful that somebody recorded this chat when he asked them not too, I would say it was non too honerable.

But who am I to comment as you have all been here a long while.

Exactly. And that demo he's released under the name Oasis without telling Liam beforehand is very petty. And it's not very good either.

Liam cares about his fans like very few artists do, I'm impressed at how genuine he is, he's the only person I check out regularly on twitter.

I don't care if they reunite or not, I've seen Liam in february in Paris, it was the best gig I've attended in years. And the crowd was incredible.

    Totally with you...

Since I saw the news item (which was everywhere here) when trump toured the mask factory to Live and Let Die, it only took me 15 minutes or so and a handful of other people’s posts to figure out what Guns were talking about with this shirt

The news story was editorialized the same way as the shirts messaging. So like, it makes sense in that light.

I am pleased that we are talking about the ethics of clothing though. Hope that continues!! Everyone check your labels for where your shirts were made and let’s get angry about it!! Lol

I dont have a problem with it...its sattire and in no way  trying to belittle the global pandemic.  I do agree though that the proceeds should go to charity.

  10. You were all right!  After announcing on here that I had found a 1986 gig on Youtube it was immediately taken down. What does one do to get a tiny glimpse of this band, it makes me quite sad and confused as I am finding it hard to understand, what seems like, the 'pushing away' of their fan base, folk who mean them no harm but indeed love the art they have created and so, obviously, would like to view it now and again.  Ho hum....
