He obviously never learned it. Not even a bare bones version so he could put a spin to it. From his improvisation, it sounds like he hasn’t listened to it much either.  It starts fast and goes nowhere quickÂ
Improvisation wise, he’s never been great at developing something melodic. It would have been much better if he worked on something independently in that section.
ÂUnfortunately it’s prob at the bottom of the to do list considering how much they play it live. I’m going to guess that it will be soundchecked a few times moving forwardÂ

Axl is simply getting older. This is just who he is in a live setting. He can sound great one night and other nights look as if he’s struggling to find it. It happens. People can accept that reality or choose not to see him live. Picking apart YouTube/audio clips, set list complaints, etc…have been happening ever since he returned in 2001. It’s been 20 years. You’d think we’d come to terms with that and not be shocked to see it happen again and againÂ
He’s obviously vocally prepared. You can’t sing for 2-3 hrs multiple times and get away with just showing up. If he wasn’t prepared, they’d be canceling shows due to vocal fatigue. Also the rehearsing stuff people get on is just wrong. It doesn’t benefit him that much as a far as his individual performanceÂ
Rehearsal benefits the band and everyone putting things together to sound cohesive.  So if he’s missing verses and cues, then saying that would be relevant. Everyone comes into rehearsals prepared to play the gig front to back. It’s there for the band to make a few tweaks as well. It’s not there for anyone to learn the notes or whether Axl can hit different registers consistently. That’s the work that needs to be done on his own. He’d be wasting everyone’s time if he showed up in that mannerÂ

It’s a festival. They weren’t going to push other acts off the stage and play earlier. That’s not how it works. People are there to see everyone on the bill. It’s not just Guns showÂ
As far as refunds, that’s on the promoter. The band gets a fee. They were booked and held that date. That’s part of it. They then showed up, got their gear, crew etc.. there on site and put in the work to prepare. The agent still gets their cut, management, crew, band members, etc…That’s where contracts come into play. It’s all spelled out.
Even if they did have to give back some/ all the fee, there is still no guarantee or obligation that the promoter gives out refunds in this scenario. It’s not like the band can stipulate what the promoter can do hereÂ- 6

This is something geared towards market, their brand and probably people who wear something like that and possibly not even know anything about the bandÂ
Whatever. It’s not the 1st time they’ve done something like this. If you want to say they sold out, all I can say is they are a band that’s been on a major label since the late 80’s. They’ll play football stadiums to Vegas residencies. They get songs placed in movies, tv shows and commercials for big $. Yes, they sell whatever merch they can possibly brand. In that sense, I’d say they sold out decades ago. It’s nothing new. That’s what bands do to make $. Especially these daysÂ
Enjoy the music and feel free to relate with it however you want. Buy merch, don’t buy merch. Go to shows, don’t go to shows. At the end of the day it’s their band, and they are going to do whatever they want with it. Part of that is they have a brand associated with it and manage it as they see fitÂ
We as fans have the power to engage or not engage with whatever they offer. I personally tend to not engage with most things that don’t interest me Â

They may have footage. To be fair, that doesn’t also mean the sound/whatever came off the board is releasable for the entire show as wellÂ
It’s safe to assume they have a ton of stuff that should see the light of day thoughÂ

Those guys rip people off no end. What makes them sucsessfull is that they can low-ball you an offer and pay you there n then. If you've got the patience to sell to the right market you can make a lot more money
I mean that’s any business who’s selling used stuff. Take your used guitar to a music store and they will offer 60% of the secondary market. That’s how they stay in business.Â
Always more $ in selling it yourself directly to an individual. What you’re giving up by having a store buying it way below market value is having to wait for that buyer to come along and doing the legwork yourselfÂ

You can buy an empty case for around 100-150. I’d highly suggest people grab that if you want to fill it with whatever you have. It does look great, it’s solidly built and they may have forgotten to remove the hidden cassette. It’s worth itÂ
The original price these were selling for was just absurd. The vinyl and cassette is the main value hereÂ
I hope they price the UYI set with that in mind. Otherwise I’ll wait for clearance pricingÂ

Looks like my signed box set is finally shippingÂ

Whatever. I did enjoy Pitchfork’s review for Jet’s Shine On thoughÂ

Is there anything unique about the guitar besides the atrocious 4 decal? Or is it pretty much the standard slash edition Les Paul?
It’s a normal Slash standard with a limited color top. I’ll keep it for now as it plays great.
If the secondary market gets really nuts on them then I’ll have to rethink and just replace with another Slash Standard. I have a feeling they are going to release another run with that color though.Â
Yeah, I’m glad they left the decal off. It would cover a nice looking topÂ

I ordered one of the 500 deluxe versions with the mini Gibson guitar. Still nothing. Anyone else still waiting?
I’m still waiting for my signed version. Luckily, the Slash 4 Les Paul is a great playing guitar and it’s tying things over

Have you received your signed box set? Mine is still pending, I ordered from the Slash shop and was supposed to be sent out in the 14th.
I don’t think any of the signed box sets have shipped
I got my Slash 4 Les Paul yesterday. Came with a full band signed litho. I wonder if they pulled those from the box sets for the guitar release. It’s the only thing that we could be waiting on that’s not availableÂ

This is my guess for how the conversation went for this merch:
Â
Person 1 - what if we make a hoodie and sweat pants with really ugly graphics and price them way too high?Â
Â
Person 2 - terrible idea, why would anyone buy that.Â
Â
Person 3 - because some GN'R fans will buy anything
Â
Person 1 - PLUS if we give it a vague Don't Cry related name, we can sell it in two colors since that song is one both Illusion.Â
Â
Person 2 - you got me you crazy sons of a bitches, let's do this!Â
Or….
P1: Crap, Valentine’s Day is on Monday
P2: We should get some merch up and capitalize on that
P1: Idk….Don’t Cry with some heart bs?Â
P2: Perfect. Just send it in to UME when done

Still waiting on my signed box set.
I did happen to score a limited Slash 4 Les Paul at retail though! Should be here next weekÂ

I brought the 24 bit version and its sounds shit! Id rather listen too Studio 60 mp3 version even that could of done with slash being louder apart from thats its pretty good.
It wouldn’t surprise me if they do end up releasing that as well as a limited runÂ

The mix is so much better! Really enjoying what I'm hearing so far.Â
This makes me wonder why they dropped the ball with the mix in the album. They probably should have just released a higher quality version of the livestream audio as the album instead.Â
Yeah. Seems to be the case. I noticed Slash's hands magically change positions on the fretboard between consecutive cuts.Â
This probably means we’re getting it as a live releaseÂ

They would need a major streaming service to pick up the bill so someone could go through the footage and put it togetherÂ
The timing obviously would have been great to go with the UYI reissue. That’s not going to happen thoughÂ
I guess the question that would hold back any release is what story do they collectively want to tell vs what story does the footage show? I’m sure it’s not pretty for everyone involved at certain pointsÂ

I'm not sure actually. Maybe it does? I feel like I would've noticed previously, but maybe not.Â
Just checked my emails and the last batch of stuff I ordered came from there. Could just be where things are warehousedÂ

I should be able to tell from the runout on the deadwax if it was pressed at TMR.Â
If it was, it'll be very easy to investigate possible other pressings. The pressing plant has a huge window so you can see it operating 24/7
Doesn’t all of the merch ship from there? It looks familiarÂ

That's just one dealer here in the US that I know of. I'm sure it'll be available elsewhere with cheaper shipping
I've never actually heard this album. I was thinking of blind buying it just for the hell of it.Â
The Jeff Beck collab is interesting. There’s a few moments. Duff is obviously not well and I think that comes through these songs. It would have been better with the Johnny Thunders coverÂ
I grabbed the music on vinyl release a few years backÂ

Same, especially when there is an edit with no T2 footage that’s been around forever.
It’s also possible that the movie studio paid for the video and owns/co-owns the entirety of the footageÂ

I think Richard knows about the broad lines of the plan to release an album. Why so reserved if he doesn't know anything.
Those plans probably get changed constantly and most likely have been for his entire time in the band. It’s much better to say nothing than say where things lay this weekÂ
