I agree with Slash.

CD is perfect and Axl is fuckin' phenomenal.

CD is the product of a neurotic, psychotic, bi-polar 10 year old who can't seem to let go of the past, so he writes songs like Sorry and Shackler's Revenge.

Your post is the product of a neurotic, psychotic, bi-polar 10-year-old who can's seem to let go of the past, so he writes posts bashing a grown man who he has never met or spoken to in real life.

Applause Apollo!! $la$h knows in his snaky mind that the surest was to get his "interviews" circulated is to mention Axl, just like thousands of other UNnamed journalists.

I love how Slash always uses the same strategy when talking about Axl.

He says something positive about Axl first, praising his ability as a frontman or his album, voice etc

THEN

he points out something negative - he hates me, he won't talk to me, we have no contact blah blah blah

Clever boy Slash. Always paint yourself as the victim and Axl as the monster.

At least Axl is honest about his feelings, even if he is blunt as fuck about it.

He is pointing out the truth not being negative..The interviewer asked him if he would ever talk to Axl again and he told the truth...Axl does hate him or are you rewriting history on that also.....Nothing negative about his response...You Axlites really are dellusional.......................

He wasn't whining he was telling it like it is................

No he isn't. When Slash says that, he is speaking for Axl and this interviewer is stupid.

After slash said that, the interviewer should have asked him, "do you hate him to?" or "Why does he hate you."

He let him off the hook!!.

With all due respect Sunny please don't tell me you are saying Axl has not made it clear he hates Slash...................Oye, where is the palm to face plant when you need it...................

Like I said, any reporter worth a damn, needs to finally ask slash, "why axl hates him" and "if he hates axl.'

it is like the reporter goes half way there - then turns around. And by leaving it like that, deservedly or not, it makes axl look bad.

Mark this as the day I actually agree with SunnyDre :scared:

is not the answer.

your both equally misguided.

Slash: I’m more standoffish because I know how vehemently he hates me. So that sort of makes me doubt it. But if we ran into each other and all that animosity were to pass for a second, then I’m sure we could have an interesting conversation.

Does it seem like a bit of a back handed compliment? Yes, he thinks Axl is phenominal, but 'he hates me' making himself the victim again, like he never had any part in the problems.

Having said that, I'm not sure what else he can say when they keep bringing it up in interviews. Maybe he could leave it at 'we've gone our separate ways'.

I find it interesting that Slash was being honest to the questions answered and, even complimented Axl on ChiDem, yet Axlites are so paranoid that they have to overanalyze the interview to try to find something negative.

Slash was just being honest what exactly did he say which was not true or negative towards Axl?

1. The album is exacly what he expected from Axl based on how the UYI albums went... Axl's music was evolving even during the AFD days, see November Rain which missed the cut on AFD, and it has become more complex...Is this not true?

2. ChiDem is a dark album..again is this not true...he was not criticzing Axl's music just making an observation...

3. He commented on how Axl hates him.........He was honestly answering about the chances of him and Axl talking again..he was not being a victim as Axl has made it very clear he hates him......

I admire Slash for answering these questions honestly while being respectful to Axl...............don't see Axl ever giving Slash the same courtesy..............

Man, I am so tired of this all or nothing, infantile type of discussion that keeps happening. If you disagree with anything Slash says, then you're an Axlite who hates Slash. Hey, I love my kid, but I still call him on his crap. Why don't you try to have a conversation, presenting differing viewpoints instead of just jumping to the accusations which you did right off the bat in your post. If you read further, I did suggest that I wasn't sure what else he could do since they kept bringing it up. It's a pretty narrow view of the GnR world to require categorization as a Slashite or Axlite. I actually don't read much that puts many members in one or the other. Most seem to appreciate a lot about both of these guys.

Open your mind a bit.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you, excellent post.

It's so funny how one side will whine and cry about the other.....while they are calling the other side axlites or slasholes and bashing them for their post.

You are exactly right. Most people have chosen a side - but MOST GnR fans - probably 90% of us - still follow, enjoy, respect BOTH musicans. And eagerly await hearing music from BOTH sides. It is just 5-6 "fans" on this board from both sides that give both sides a bad name.

You obviously do not either read my posts or have selective memory Apollo...I have stated on mulitple occasions that I respect Axl as musician and enjoy ChiDem so not sure where you are coming from...I find it interesting that posters like Orsys are insulted by being called an Axlite when all the posts of hers I have read since being active on this forum have been negative towards Slash while defending Axl.......She and others take a straight forward interview with Slash, where he actually compliments Axl, and looks for conspiracy by proposing that Slash had some hidden agenda....The man was asked some simple questions and he gave very clear straight forward answers which did not state anything concerning Axl which is not already public knowledge.

If you don't want people to defend Slash then STFU and stop overanalyzing everything Slash says looking for a conspiracy against Axl.............

And as far as 90% of the of the members supporting both Slash and Axl equally that is bullshit as they may like the music of both, as I do, but ultimately most here will pick a side when the insults start flying..........which is why these circular threads will never stop.............

Oh stuff your silliness. I am telling you right now, I support both Axl and Slash. I don't and have never agreed with everything either of them do. I liked them in old GnR and in their own ventures now. I have, on a number of occassions said that we don't know the story, it's their business.

In this thread, all I did was ask a question. You are not able to answer a question or participate without categorizing. It's just discussion, on nothing important in life really. You saw straightforward answers from Slash, others saw something else. It was discussed. What the hell else can you do on a forum?

So now that I've cleared up my feelings on both Axl and Slash, right here in black and white, find another cause and move on! Your stalking me and waiting for me to mention Slash is starting to weird me out.

I like Slash because he takes the high road...

I prefer the newer band to anything that Slash has done since GNR, but I will give him credit for generally not making venomous remarks.

slash just makes it seem like he has taken the high road. not saying slash bad / axl good, i think they have both been petty / stubborn in the media, i just think its wrong to say one is above the other.

there is a bit of truth to the 'slash says the right things' notion, its pretty obvious IMO, but i think to many people take that thread of truth and try to make it into a blanket.

the comments made in this interview were entirely reasonable. just cause he has lied / manipulated in the past doesnt mean every interview is a strategic attempt to undermine the public.

Hey! Look!

The lead singer and the guitarist, yet they still didn't call themsleves Led Zeppelin.

PagePlantUnled.jpg

Cool!

Topics like this only generate this same tired bullshit.

This belongs in the ex-members section. Just because one question from a multiquestion interview mentions Axl Rose doesn't make it a GnR related interview.. this is primiarly about someone else's solo album.

Had this simply been put in its proper place, most of the immature childishness seen on display would have never happened.

And really, its just an excuse to get cupcakes like the one above to disrupt the forum for the majority of Guns fans who are quite satisfied with the band and the current tour. Sad state of affairs in MyGnR land :(

There's really no difference between the two imo. Axl is just open about it and Slash isn't. It's easy to tell what Slash really thinks when a reporter asks him on camera about something Axl said/did and he just laughs like "fuck that guy". Axl, he just expresses it openly and without filter.

I suppose one way looks better then the other, but believe me, both men are equal in their contempt for the other.

thats the only reason i would support axl over slash in this whole he said she said debacle. i think both have been ridiculous but ill go with the guy who is brutally honest (what he feels is honest, whether its objectively honest, thats another story)over the guy who disguises his contempt with a never ending quest to seem cool.

It's amazing how such small and trivial things can set off such vitriolic threads.

And they always pretty much revert to the same Axl-fans-versus-Slash-fans thing with the same arguments used every time. It doesn't really matter what Slash or Axl say about each other because each time it comes down to the same squabbling and tired "points," most of which are really just opinions and based on how you perceive the two men to begin with...

I think if you guys on the moderating team would keep topics like this in the ex-members discussion it would save a lot of the silliness.

Well, that's how I feel too personally. I appreciate brutal honesty, but not everyone sees it that way. Alot of people think taking the high road is the better option, but whatever...doesn't matter.

The thing I don't get is, if you were around the internet at the turn of the century, you would have seen and heard Slash publicly RAPE Axl at every corner. I mean, I can remember video clips where Slash was like "Yeah, well, when he gets done with all that techno anal bullshit maybe we can talk...etc.". So, I don't know how he gets labeled as "taking the high road" all the time. Did everyone forget so soon?

I'm pretty sure Slash is in the same boat as Axl. There's no question he backlashed on his solo album, but there's some things we cannot change and this incident is one of them. It's time to move on. Right now I am just happy they're still in the business.

I make no qualms or pretentions about it, I'm firmly on Axl's & Guns N' Roses'

side, if indeed sides are being picked. The Slasholes seem to delight in dredging up cancerous threads into this section, when they ought to discuss their "hero" in the "Former Guns section".

this is how most people feel and i think this is how it would be if not for the gnr name business. thats proven to be too bitter a pill for some people to swallow. so they kick and scream like little girls.

You're all fucking stupid.

no

slash and axl are the two most important persons in gnr's history

only those who forget it are stupid

Point out to me where I implied otherwise?

The people I was refering to were those having the same argument again and again and again.

you implied that everybody in this thread is stupid and i'm telling you that only those who are trying to manipulate gnr's history by spreading hate against slash are stupid

and now i add that they are also despicable

if you find this topic boring, go watch your trailer park boys videos, they are so gnrish

I could do horrible things to what you just said but I don't want to contribute to this thread.

Yeah, it's kind of a big 'fuck you' to Slash when Axl uses the GN'R name to write hate mail like Sorry, but I figured it really doesn't matter since this version of GN'R isn't mainstream popular and Sorry was terrible anyway. I think deep inside Axl realizes some of this which is why he still plays mostly classics.

actually the CD tour has been saturated with CD tracks and sorry is usually the 4-5th song played.
