Moreover, I gather that he wants to work with Axl again..in fact, he has implicitly indicated how much he would enjoy it, without saying it literally. I am probably unique as far as a Guns fan goes. I didn't get into the original band until 1991, as I was a die-hard alt. rock fan--into The Replacements, Janes, The Stone Roses, Joy Division, Massive Attack, The Pixies, Happy Monday's, and Dinosaur Jr. back in the day. I then discovered how brilliant GNR were with the Illusions, worked backwards through the catalog, and became an instant die-hard. When Tommy Stinson was announced as a new member, I went nuts, as he was already one of my favorite musicians. I have seen the new band over 25 times, and love em, and love CD. I also appreciate Duff, Izzy, and Slash's solo work---I did not dig VR as much as their solo work, but appreciate all of the musicians from the GN'R family tree, including Gilby. Thats cool and all, Axl is paying his employees good $ to cover someone elses material, they should do a good job dontcha think. The one thing all those dudes have in common though.......... besides taking a paycheck.......... is that none have them have ever wriiten material as good as what they were paid to copy. From the original 5 up through the 02 line up. Slash, while in his prime, would destroy all of the others. He had presence and great chops. Bucket just had the chops. I grew to like Robin. Why not just merge everything into one giant section?I assume those sections were created to discuss former members and past lineups. Why not use them for that purpose? many of us are tired of the Axl vs (insert former member here) arguments that come out of stuff like this.
