Kill Devil Hill
For people just wondering what 'did he say this, did he say that???'You're missing the point. Some of the best stuff I've heard so far wasn't what was brought up in the updates. I loved his part about thinking about how songs like November Rain also belong to the fans now, and how they try and put as much energy into it to make it worthwhile and honor whatever memory that made that fan connect to the song. That was cool. When he got into detail like the NR business, the interview was great. But then there were parts where it looked like e was gonna launch into a story, but it got edited out or something. Gagarin
You wrote a book on a few seconds.Haven't read it, but, I imagine it's more complicated than what you wrote.Everyone knows Slash was dangerous to himself when he wasn't busy on the road. On the road kept him alive. More than one book has said that.
iwillleaveaxlalone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYGx7vM8HlIWe all know that Axl was never happy with how the UYI albums turned out. From this TMS clip, Axl tells us that he was FORCED to begin touring in 1991 before the UYI records were completed because GnR's manager booked the tour without Axl's consent.Axl was not ready to tour in 1991, and from the clip, the only reason he gave was his preoccupation of completing the UYI records the way he had envisioned. And as such, it caused Axl to develop a habit of always being late for concerts. But during that time period, Axl was super late compared to recent times with the CD tour.Apparently, GnR's manager and record company were afraid Slash (and Duff) would kill themselves before the UYI records could be completed, unless GnR toured to keep Slash (and Duff) busy and away from the drugs. As well, if Slash (and Duff) died, the UYI may not have been completed. So Axl complied because:1. Axl did not want GnR to get sued for cancelling the tour.2. Slash was begging to tour; probably because playing music was the only thing that kept him away long enough from the drugs to kill him.3. Axl was afraid Slash (and Duff) would die from drugs unless they did tourAs a result, the artistic beauty of the UYI suffered. The UYI records could have been much better!Axl did not explicitly state it, but it can be assumed that GnR's manager booked the tour without consulting Axl because he and the record company were afraid Slash (and Duff) would indeed die from drugs, thus causing GnR and the record company to be sued for not doing enough to help and rehabilitate Slash (and Duff). So, now, it can be safely assumed that the reason GnR's manager (and the record company) got Slash and Duff to relinquish all their rights to the GnR name is because they were indeed afraid that Slash and Duff would die, thus causing a lot of legal and financial problems for GnR and the record company. If all this makes sense, then that would explain why Axl cannot forgive Slash!Because Axl sacrificed so much for Slash, only to have Slash turn around and bite him in the ass!You Slasholes might be wondering: what did Slash do to Axl?For starters, Slash said a lot of negative things to the media that helped perpetuate this negative image of Axl. This in turned caused the media, fans, and general public to think of Axl as some crazy controlling dictator. As a result, the fans and media blamed Axl for years for the breakup of the original band. But we now know in the above TMS clip, that Axl sacrificed so much for Slash (and Duff), and as such, Slash and Duff could possibly well be still alive today because of Axl.All of this sure does make Slash (and to some degree Duff) look like selfish assholes, ie. CANCERFor reference, here is the other TMS clip where Axl explains how *certain* people helped perpetuate this negative image of Axl Rose.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHknVvBHwBswrong. go back to 1989. Ak1nney
I think the interviews did a mediocre job, but oh well. You don't learn anything ground breaking, but it was nice to watch. They show Live and Let Die, and the end of the solo/last verse of Chinese Democracy.

Gagarin
Yeah there's going to be edited footage that we might think is interesting that was lost on what the editors thought would be interesting, or what they think viewers would like. There's always bonus clips and...whatever.Plus it's nice that he actually did this. If only it was a few years ago... But it's a new day.AND BOOM.He just answered CD 2.And it's what I've been saying for a damn while now.Management. Label. Work things out. Got to figure that out first. Boom.He can write poetry and listen to guitar parts and play the piano all he wants, but without management and management working things out with the label, they can't really do anything with new music. So yes, he's "working Chinese" and also thinking of the future. Edited November 12, 2011 by Gagarin

It is more like:Everything was NOT all Axl's fault.Notice how Slash is the only remaining member that Axl has not reunited with?People - like Slash - for years made it seem like everything was indeed ALL of Axl's fault. Gagarin
causing GnR and the record company to be sued for not doing enough to help and rehabilitate Slash (and Duff).No. Back then, no one would have thought of suing the record company or the GNR partnership. Rockstars and celebrities drank and shoot themselves up to death all the time. You're thinking it was 2007 back in 1991.No one was going to file a civil suit in 1991 over an OD-ed guitarist or drunk bassist. You know so much about that world that isn't so. gnrfan2007
Axl is highly motivated to be the absolute BEST that he can be. He's a man with big visions! That's the problem with Axl. Why some folks call him a perfectionist. If Axl doesn't feel something is good enough to his standards, he will not want to take part in it.Axl does not do things half-ass. In my opinion Axl is one of those types of people that need to be motivated. If you look back on the history of GNR pretty much everything he has done was because people had to push him into it. Release of UYI, release of CD, the cancelled '01 European tour, the ill-fated '02 tour, and now the revelation that he was forced into the UYI tour. This isn't bashing Axl, but it seems that he owes most of his career to being pushed. Some artists are just like that, but I think he is definitely on the extreme level. It seems like management and the label either are holding out to release an album in hope of a reunion, or it's not finished yet.MANAGEMENT isn't holding jack up for a reunion. Maybe Azoff 'sabotaged'. But they've been without real management for awhile. They got this Peter guy now. They had Doc before for a short time. A successful GNR manager has to make a tour happen in the states and he has to find a way to negotiate or renegotiate terms with the record label and make a business case for a new GNR record. A manager works for the artist and he has to make a business case for a new GNR record and make sure the release gets done right.I don't think the label has anything to gain from a GNR reunion. Maybe the back catalog would sell more? All the label wants is to have product out that isn't flopping without writing many more checks. And not to have a flop when they report to their shareholders.
