Myles is an awesome singer, I love his work with Alter Bridge and the 2 songs he did on Slash's solo album are also great.

But he should stay away from the whole Guns and Velvet Revolver catalogue, he sounds like a dying cat on those.

So I'm looking forward to Slash and Myles' next album. Could be good.

I don't need to say anything. Just listen.

He can sing for sure... but I don't enjoy his voice all that much when he goes to the higher notes. When he keeps it in the lower register he sounds much better to me. I always feel that he's about to cry when he goes to the high notes and he lacks the rawness and balls that Axl brings to the table. He does an alright job for what it's worth but GN'R songs just never sound the same without Axl. Actually most of the time they sound like shit without Axl, with Myles they sound like watered-down versions but still ok and better than most other GN'R covers to be fair.

It's not a problem of vocal ability. Myles clearly can sing, he doesn't go out of breath, he stays in pitch etc...

It's a problem of having a fucking annoying nasal voice.

Give me Rod Jackson or, better, Eric Dover any day of the week instead.

+1

Not sure about Eric Dover, but Rod Jackson is probably the best vocalist since Axl. And yes, Myles is very good technically but it's his voice that annoys the fuck out of me.

Dude's got a great voice, as soon as the first Alter Bridge single came out I knew he stood head and shoulders above most singers of his generation.

If I had a beef with the guy's singing, it's that he barely strains at all to hit those high notes. So sometimes the struggle is not there when he goes for the big notes in songs.

But if you've only heard him in the Guns songs he does with Slash with the intent of comparing him to Axl, you're doing yourself a grave disservice.
