Gunsguy is straight-up right with his commentary concerning the people complaining that don't attend shows.

If I'm not mistaken there is a statement/rant floating around that stated (paraphrasing) about some fuckhead from Iowa complaining about the setlist of a show they didn't attend, and how GNR does not play one goddamn note for people like that?

I'm sure some savvy googler can find the exact quote :xmasssanta:

There you go.

Thank You Ronaldo

So were Deep Purple, Yes, Kiss, Allman Brothers, ect cover bands too?

Sure, and it was "nu Beatles" because Stu Sutcliffe, and Pete Best weren't around.

That was genius.

The Rolling Stone too after Brian Wilson left.

Birdcatcher you blew my neurons,Brian Jones was with the Stones,(should I say nu stones now?)

Brian Wilson is the damaged genius behind the Beachboy's music.

I definately need sleep now :xmassrudolph:

So let's get things started, this show was fuckin killer.

We arrived to the venue at just about 2pm and there was a line of 6 people in front of us, ironically, two of these people were people that we waited in line next to at a Stone Temple Pilots show in 2009 in Manchester, NH..so it was cool to be in line, and on the front rail with them again, small world.

Doors finally opened about 10 minutes before 7 and we were inside finally, bought a bootleg shirt outside because $40 on the inside was a bit outside of my budget and I actually liked the bootleg quite a bit, it's a sweet shirt. So I didn't have to make a stop at the merch stand, we grabbed waters and headed straight down to the rail. Decided to take up a spot just on the right edge of Axl's center ego ramp and it was clutch.

Taylor Momsen/The Pretty Reckless were surprisingly pretty entertaining, my first validation of that was the fact that standing at just barely 5'8'' and in the front row, I had a stupendous view of her bare behind all set long, and two because her band was pretty tight as well. They did a sweet cover of Seven Nation Army and also Like A Stone by Audioslave which was sick, solid opening band.

TPR was off the stage by 9 and Guns roadies had their stuff ready to go by 9:45, security, everyone around us, were all expecting a 2 hour wait at the very least, at this point the arena was probably 70% full. At 10 though, the spotlight riggers climbed up to their spots above the stage and we knew that was a good sign, then at about 10:20? the lights went down and on came Dexter. Nice.

Axl hit the stage with a bang, everyone was super into Chinese and Jungle even got the place even hotter, in all honesty, this wasn't the fullest venue on tour by a long shot but the crowd was incredible. It seemed as if most of the floor was jumping during Jungle. They then ran through ISE, Brownstone etc into Sorry, which surprisingly seemed to get a pretty good reaction from the crowd, at this point more people had filed in the venue hit it's most crowded point as the floor was full, as was both sides of the lower section and most of the side upper sections, the far back of the arena lower and upper, were sparesly filled, I'd put it at 85% full at best.

Then they hit us with Scraped, as soon as the drum intro came in I was pumped, was super awesome to see them do this again, and they nailed it. Yadda yadda through Estranged, which was life changing.

After every song, or most every song, I would yell "SHACKLERS!" at any band member that was near our area on stage, the kid next to me had a cool sign where he drew Axl, DJ and Bumble in Pilgrim/Indian theme and wrote "Give Thanks" under neath, all of the band members noticed it, even Axl and gave a chuckle, Bumble actually brought it up on stage for a bit.

I think it was a bit after Estranged, but I was connecting with Bumble and DJ most of the night and DJ tossed me a pick that I caught, so I was pumped about that, and continued to yell for Shacklers.

Fernando was directly in front of us most of the night, scoping the crowd (for chicks?) either way I introduced myself, fist bumped etc and told him that I wanted to hear Shacklers as well ahah, he laughed and said ok.

So I got my mind blown and face melted off for the rest of the set.

There was a guy after Knockin, that was 2 people behind me yelling "AXL! AXL ITS SO EASY! FUCKING AXL ITS SO EASY! DO IT!" non stop..and Axl addressed him with something like "What the fuck is this guy yelling?" we told him he was yelling for Its So Easy and Axl was like "hey buddy..we already did that, WHAT do I have to tell these people, you CAN'T be showing up late to shows!" in a very sarcastic tone which I thought was hilarious, then Axl was still looking at the guy and 4 of us just started yelling SHACKLERS! and he nodded. Sick.

There was a girl on Bumble and Richards side in the front row of the seats next to the left side ramp that started flashing during NR, and eventually whenever a band member was over there, like..more than flashing, just straight shirt up for nearly a minute at one point...niiiice tits too.

We finally hit the encore, Maddy was incredible, and I managed to grab one of the drumsticks DJ uses to play guitar, he tossed it right at us, I reached up grabbed and just started throwing bows till I knew I definitely had it hahahah

Then bam, Shacklers hit. I was losing it and the song was straight FIRE. One of my favorite live Guns songs for sure, from any of the catalog, it was top notch, the crowd loved it and Axl nailed it.

Paradise City was unreal, I grabbed confetti.

I'm in a few of the facebook/twitter pictures, left side of the center ramp if it's looking out to the crowd, in a black and gold Boston Bruins hat.

Thank you Axl and the rest of the band for the most amazing show I've ever attended, and I've seen a TON of shows. Thank you!

Couple of photos I got, I didn't take many as I usually like to just focus on the show.

They've been playing to mostly half empty arenas. I saw them at Target Center a couple of weeks ago...capacity is 18,000+, they sold about 8,000 on that one. Axl has some difficult decisions to make once this tour wraps. Does he keep pushing this version of the band? Does he go and do a solo album & tour? Or...does he reconcile with Slash, Duff & Izzy and do a reunion tour? IF they make it into the R&R HOF, my bet is on the latter.

So, basically your saying Axl should reunite with the old band to increase record sales in the U.S.? Are you serious? I don't think any of the five men you mentioned would consider ever doing that, because it would have to be a mutual decision to reunite, not a money factor.

And besides, they haven't had much success in the US since the 2001 tour, but everywhere else they play to packed hours with 50k, 60k sold out shows in South America. So it's not like their not popular worldwide, it's just the U.S.

They are doing very well in South America, but they are not playing 50k or 60k sold out shows:

haha yeah right Paragvay was with more than 60000 ...prove tv report on youtube

These are official numbers. Paraguay was a double concert with Aerosmith. 26,419 were listed for Guns and 31,917 for Aerosmith, but with a ticket for one band you could see the other for free.

This is the dumbest thing I've read ... if you buy a ticket valid at both concerts, then gnr and aerosmith together sold about 60000th .. tell me the point, especially to sell tickets for gnr and aerosmith if a ticket is valid for both concerts before ...... I would say that the organizers avoid paying taxes ... in metashow Ron said that there were 70,000

Also, they didnt played only 1 show at Argentina, but 3... and the place in La Plata cant hold more than 37000 what do u want? if they played 1 show, like the last year, ofcourse they will get 50k+ again... but then, 3 shows spreads around the country still makes 50k+... nice try cupcake

First Guns show ever, and boy was it awesome. I was front row with GunsNRevolvers2, and we had a blast. I made a poster that Ron brought up during Jungle, and the rest of the band had a good chuckle about it. (It was GNR in Indian and Pilgrim attire). I'll try and post pictures later, but a stellar night!

This is the worst era though. A cover of a cover band. If you xerox something enough it fades and starts to disappear. Hard to tell what the original image was.

At the Gun and poser show where Myles tries xeroxing Axl's voice, it is very clear what the original is

Even to the fans around the world who only get to watch these shows on youtube, it is so obvious that they are killing it live and deserve the credit that reviewers are now giving them.

It is ALWAYS the people NOT there that complain

Some of us have loved this band since we were kids and can't even see them live. When those who can, come here and bitch that they aren't happy with the current lineup, it is just mystifying

At one point, Axl mentioned that it's nice to look out into the crowd and see smiling faces, and that usually they're just screaming "Fuck you, asshole!" Then one of the band members, Ron presumably, got on the mic and shouted "Fuck you, Axl!"
