2011 was a banner year for Guns N' Roses. Be band has become a bonafide touring juggernaut, turning in stellar three hour performances that blew the roofs off venues across the country. Reviews were glowing. There were several revealing high-profile interviews. A new website. A newsletter. Facebook and Twitter out the wazoo. Live streams. ESTRANGED. CIVIL WAR. The band itself is the tightest, most explosive and most musical line-up yet, and dare I saw ever. And recently, Axl finally decided to cast off the shackles of all the double talkin' jive motherfuckers from the "record industry" who've tried to manage him. With Beta managing, Guns N' Roses is finally in charge of its own destiny.

As amazing as 2011 was, this is just the start. A perfect storm is brewing for 2012, including the Hall of Fame ceremony and the seeming inevitability of Chinese Democracy II. At this critical juncture in Guns N' Roses history, the band needs us as much as possible. We need to be the wind in their sails. so to speak, and we need to let this band know how grateful we are for all their amazing work, and how hard we are prepare to work for them in the future. That's why I am pledging, from this day forth, to be a better fan.

1. I will not moan and bitch and complain on GNR's fan site. We know the band and the management reads these boards. I do not want to do anything to discourage, depress or antagonize them. If I don't have anything nice to say, I will not say anything at all.

2. I will not try and tell Guns N' Roses or their management what to do. As a fan, it is not my place to try to micromanage my favorite band, down to what songs they play in their set lists. I will consume, as I am the consumer. I will allow the creators to create.

3. Hard as it may be, I will relegate conversations about former band members to the section of the forum specially reserved for conversations about former band members. When new fans find the band and this forum, they shouldn't be confused as to who is in the band based on unnecessary forum cross-pollination. And as new fans find the forum, it would be a shame if they were dragged into the same, tired, futile old squabbles that define the lives of a few regulars around here.

4. I will respect the moderators of this forum, and observe rules regarding respectful treatment of other forum members. No two people will ever have the same taste in music. But we can all be civilized and friendly about it.

5. I will make an extra effort to let friends and family know about the happenings in the world of Guns N" Roses. I'm sure we all do this anyways, but with new music on the horizon that promises to be unique and different, it's a special opportunity to attract a new segment to the fan base.

I'll promise to be a better fan if every single one of u admit Slash is just as responsible for the break up of the band as Axl is..

So it looks like things remain the same...

And Duff too. Steven and Izzy too but I don't think Matt was responsible for anything accept not knowing how to leave.

8. I will stop using the term "broke up." Guns N' Roses did not "break up." They are currently touring. Members have quit in the past. New members have joined. One day, they will quite and new members will join again. But the band has never "broken up."

Guns never broke up?

Keep fucking that chicken...

They didn't. They went a while without touring or releasing an album, but they never broke up. Prove me wrong.

They were replaced one at a time. The new guys became members of GN'R and they continued to work on new music that eventually became Chinese Democracy. The band was kept alive

For starters, your reasoning and logic is 4th grade level and stained with bias.

Secondly: "It's not exactly an autobiography as much as legal record of every last detail of what went down with the breakup". -Axl Rose, 2008

Countless other logical bits of fact I could throw out but I don't really give a shit about what you think. So... keep fucking that chicken...

After quitting.

You're seriously not arguing that point, right? Slash talks about choosing to leave Guns N' Roses all the time. Is he lying?

Poor choice of words on Axl's part. If anything it is the breakup of that lineup. Not GN'R.

I bet a "divorce" isn't a "divorce" to you crazy people, too.

You just decide to start sleeping with other people right? They quit the marriage - the marriage bond is broken.

Try to hide behind semantics and poor reasoning all you want.

Poor choice of words on Axl's part. If anything it is the breakup of that lineup. Not GN'R.

Stop being so fucking obtuse.

How about these:

"The battles were during the breakup".

"Really weren’t things we consciously considered even during the breakup".

"The name and rights have nothing to do with the breakup. That’s all a created façade a decoy and a smoke screen."

"But when the reality of the breakup hit and the strategy to have me crawl back was put into play..."

Dude, seriously... I try to make a thread about my desire to be a more supportive "better fan," and you want to LITERALLY rehash the same debate about whether or not Slash left Guns N' Roses, or whether or not Guns N' Roses still exists. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN.

You may suffer from a mental disorder. If you interacted with people this way in real life, you would have no friends.

I didn't start this breakup nonsense, several other posters did, I'm just cleaning up the mess you kids started.

Nice ad-hominem attack, by the way, proves how childish you are. Go have a seat at the kids table while the adults talk for awhile, will ya?

Every since you got here you've been a plague spreading your hero worshiping filth across these boards, either you're trolling or looking for attention, either way I'm not interested.

And if you'd like to know, I don't prefer the "hair metal lineup". If anything I like the new Guns better but I'm not going to dig my head in the sand or call shit gold.
