'Cardi knew that ;)

Cardi -- Feel free to give some constructive feedback as to what you think we could add for the tiers! :)

No seriously I wasn't trying to be a dick. I'd read some things about "Elite Supporter" status and wasn't sure if there was some kind of super elite lounge that only code blue and up people had access to.

I think it's good to keep it to aesthetic/vanity things and small things like bigger inboxes.

Why is my browser telling me that there are still unread threads in the supporter section when I've read them all? Are you sure there's no secret blue-people's sections?

It would only be a three way conversation a best, out of those three people one is Ratbrain and the other only converses in song lyrics so you're possibly not missing out on much.

I really hope the $200 mark is for lifetime/all-time donations and not yearly.

My (ultra elite) cigar shop doesn't even charge $200 a year to be a member.

Subsy, you should know that me, out of all people,...I am all about supporting this place.... but $200 per year?? This is a Guns N' Roses forum. Like the guys that wrote Welcome to the Jungle when they had about $10 between the 5 of them.

I think anyone that donates $200 in a lifetime and continues to donate at least $20 (or so) per year should get their name in blue. Let's not get greedy here. ;)

I do know how supportive you've been which is why I find your comments a little disappointing.

Greedy? It costs $330 a month for the server (check out IPS website yourself), I've had no ads running for 5 weeks (which is about to get resolved shortly, thankfully) and donations is my only way of off-setting my outgoings! Greedy? IM MAKING A LOSS!! im not bothered in the slightest about others questioning my motives anymore etc etc in fact (as per my obvious posts in relation) I prefer to make light of it but c'mon, give me a break and cut me a LITTLE slack here.

Thats said, I will make any donations over $200 perminent supporters I agree with that. And btw, I'm not directly ASKING for donations from indivudal members, these people are donating (or not) from their own free will, let's be honest here, we're all adults; what I AM trying to do is offer better options for those that donate more mon than others, no?

Maybe the better option is to go with Pro-boards or some other cheap/free server, go back to basics and earn money from free ads? I'm being serious here, if you're all in favour of that let me know. Otherwise, please allow me to continue my greedy income search *slurp*

$1000 for mod promotion?

noted :)

I don't think it will make a difference if you make anyone lifelong supporter or 1 year, 2 years... If someone donates, it's because they appreciate this forum and the costs that come with it. The proof is already there. I believe you're 'in the green' for one year if you make a donation, yet many give more than once a year, without any incentive, just because they appreciate the forum and can spare a buck. The supporter perks are fun, but I think that in the end, posters donate because they want to support this forum, not to have their name in the green/blue... That's only my take of course.

I think you're doing great, Subsy, and I do like the other colours, options and the new supporter sections.

what happened to google ads?

anyways, i donate because i like the forum, and i wish to see it remain here. 5 bucks won't break me. it shouldn't break anyone. the perks are nice (and Attitude rocks :headbang:) but at the end of the day, like Lio said, I donate because I appreciate the forum.

Have we looked back into selling MYGNR (or equivalent) merch? I know it's not much, but if managed through the correct site, it could at least generate SOMETHING. Or, take orders, do the print run yourselves...

It's something we've brought up a lot, and something I would very much like to do, but Subs can't do everything himself, and I don't have the time right now IRL to drive it the way it needs to be done. Among a few other factors, but the main thing is find someone (or multiple people) who have the time and drive to do it right and in the best way.

But supporters still wouldn't see them, right?

Yes, I will happily pay for mygnrforum candles, thongs and cologne.

Realistically though, through one of those "Etsy" things or TeeRepublic, it's not that hard. It's managing getting more profit by doing it ourselves...

here's a serious question for you guys. any of you internet sleuths want to find any topics/posts you think may have suddenly caused Google to pull our ads? because it seems pretty odd that it just randomly happened. they refuse to give us specific examples - just said our site violates their T&C due to objectionable content. i mean, huh? we've never allowed porn or explicit content, so it's confusing.

subs has been losing a lot of money the past month + because the ads aren't there. i deleted a bunch of random topics (stuff about boobs, etc - most of them old, old topics from years ago though!) and appealed the decision and they overturned it, but i'm really wondering what may have caused us to suddenly lose the ads...

Only thing I can think of, are those gifs KK posted, but they weren't up long, they were only boobs, nothing shocking, and it wasn't a month ago, I think. So that probably can't be it. Very annoying and stupid that they can't say what the violation was...
