QoS came out just two years after Casino Royale, arguably the reason for its disappointment is the writing. So if they had more than two years to write, this can't be bad.

But the writing was rough because of the writers strike in 2007 and 2008. Craig has said the he had to help rewrite scenes as they were in set to film them, the whole thing was a mess BECAUSE the studio was so intent in keeping to that 2 year schedule. All things considered, I think it's amazing QOS didn't turn out worse.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but they just added a bunch of James Bond films onto Netflix. I don't think they have anything past the Dalton era, and they seem to be missing a few Connery/Moore movies. I know they only have one Dalton film and they're missing the Lazenby movie. Just thought you guys might like to know.

Pretty sure most of us either own Bond 50 or all the films stand alone, but thanks for the head's up ;)

  • 1 month later...

Some news...good and bad for Bond 24.

Filming will be delayed until December while there's a script re-write going on. Purvis and Wade are both being brought back to add "punch" to the script.

The source is the Daily Mail, but I still have a feeling it's true. I really, really hope they don't go back to the Brosnan-era scripts...

I see John Cleese criticized the Craig films as gritty and humorless. He makes it seem like being gritty is a bad thing and we should go back to the Brosnan era of high budget bullshit.

Also I think the humor in the Craig films is more subtle, but that doesn't mean it isn't there.
