DJ on tonight's Jimmy Fallon

I wonder how much Monster pays him to wear their logo so much. And I'm not hating on him too badly. I think he's got a little too much cheese factor, but all in all I think he's a positive for the band. He IS the only one in the band who has written any semi-hit songs in the last 20 years, so I hope they all write together. But his constant promotion stuff bugs me some.

I thought he came across fine on the show. Could have been a lot worse.

Don't make msl come in here and yell at you about the hits on cd!

I think there's a legitimate argument to be made that Better was something of a minor radio hit. When it was released it didn't get the boost cd had simply from curiosity and it being the first single, and it stayed on the charts a little longer. Basically most of the success it had was from the song itself. So basically, robin finck wrote a bigger hit than ASHBA ever has *cupcake face*

sitting in with the late, late night show band is a great way to stir up some publicity for their upcoming casino gigs. maybe after CD II comes out, dj will be famous enough to earn a seat on the sofa.

Doesn't Slash hit this circuit to talk up his albums and perform? If so, seems like a great idea. I hope Guns can recreate the massive success of Apocalyptic Love (85,000 copies sold in the US before permanently exiting the charts)

Remind us all again how many copies DJ's last solo album sold? Y'know for a fair comparison and all? ;)

DJ doesn't have a solo album (as you well know), so god knows what your point Is.

The Heroin Diaries has sold 344,000 in the US.

The follow-up sold 30,000 in It's first week of release.

Well I think most people who can walk and chew gum simultaneously would know what my point was sweet cheeks. ;) The nuthugger I was addressing was making the point that Slash does the talk shows and his SOLO album only sold 80,000 despite that. Since he was using that flawed logic with the intent of bigging up DJ at Slash's expense I was simply suggesting a like for like comparison where we compare the SOLO sales of each artist. :shrugs: Heroin Diaries was a SixxAM record so basically we're talking about a lot of Nikki fans bumping those numbers up. Course if you want to compare album sales of both of them under the name Guns n' Roses..........................

You sure about that hot lips?

I see it every night when I close my eyes! :( It haunts my dreams! :nervous:

You gotta wonder what "friction" he's on about though eh?

The fuckin' friction just adds to the nightmare. He looks like he coulda been the obligatory white dude in some Milli Vanilli Oreo. There's where the friction comes in.

You could say the same about the guest artists on Slash's albums "bumping the numbers up".

That solo album wasn't even properly released and came out before Ashba was known. The "point" of your post was to make a "fair comparison", right? Then compare that Ashba solo album to Road Crew and compare SIXX AM to Slash's recent releases. Nikki Sixx doesn't have a bigger draw than; Myles Kennedy, Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie, Chris Cornell, Andrew Stockdale, Adam Levine, Lemmy, Dave Grohl, Duff Mckagan, Kid Rock, M Shadows and Iggy Pop combined - does he? No! So as usual, your logic is flawed.

I don't have anything against DJ, he is a ok musican and a great business man. But comparing him to Slash is way off. Jimmy had to tell the audience who DJ was, he had to tell them DJ is a guitarist for GNR. When Slash was on his show he said "Ladies and Gentlemen Slash!"

There's no way that's DJ ASHBA. My DJ ASHBA is a les Paul man through and through and would never play that guitar.

But dear god whoever posted that song, I never want to hear DJ try and shred again.

This insinuates that I'm claiming DJ is more popular than Slash, which I'm not. It's just funny that HTS is making fun of DJ for appearing on the show, when Slash is a fixture on the crappy late night talk show circuit every time he releases an album.

You mean that solo album you didn't know about the existence of until an hour or two ago? Oh and he's not exactly "known" now or he would have been allowed to sit on the big boy sofa with the rest of the grownups wouldn't he?

This insinuates that I'm claiming DJ is more popular than Slash, which I'm not.

So you weren't attempting any comparison and just looking for any pathetic excuse to bash Slash as usual. I should have guessed really. For the record there's nothing wrong with doing the talk show circuit to promote your latest record at all. I mean what's so bad about that really? The only reason people are joking about DJ is because by this point we half expect him to go on the show on the back of the GnR name and start hoiking his clothing range as usual. :shrugs:

Not gonna bother reading any more replies since it's clear that once again, moronic arguing over who's better (Slash, DJ, Bumblefoot probably, nuGuns, etc) takes precedence over the real topic. Was glad to see that not only did Fallon call him the Guns N' Roses guitarist, but ask about the Vegas shows.
