GnRDuff1 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) Yep. Pretty much what the topic says. You think he's just showing to plug the Vegas gigs and his obligatory AshbaSwag bs? Or do you think it could be something a little bigger? My bet is on the former, of course, and i know that I hope for more. I don't recall anyone from NuGuns ever doing a late night talk show before. Please correct me if I'm wrongEdit: obviously besides the TMS special Edited August 14, 2012 by GnRDuff1

Coma16 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 His status didn't include any GNR hashtags so maybe he's not in the band anymore?Catch me on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon tonight, I will be rockin' out with The Roots the whole show on NBC ! @jimmyfallon @djashba @ashbaswag @bullyville
SR_GR Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I like Jimmy Fallon's positive style. Dj gets to play with these talented guys then:
volcano62 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I'll say it again...DJ is the future of Guns N' Roses.
estrangeder Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Yeah, say what u want about the swag stuff, but the guy is active you see him everywhere even if it is for selfpromotion, it's also guns promotion. He's the only promotion guns got these days, so maybe we should be glad..
Bards Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Not a DJ fan (or a Fallon fan) but jamming with The Roots is cool shit. Good on him.
cineater Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 DJ's guest guitarist, they don't normally get to talk. Jimmy should introduce him and mention the Vegas shows and maybe the car thing. He gets a small, very small solo. But then again it is one step away from Axl and he's a Jimmy favorite. He could not do the usual. But then again and as it should be, it's all about The Roots!
luther Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 jimmy is nuGun fan. He's the one who introduced gnr at mtv vma 2002
KeyserSoze Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) DJs name wasnt even in the intro. but he was playing jimmy fallons intro, and fallon seemed like he was pointing at him a couple of times. think he played half of mi amor 4 minutes into the show, the fallon annouced him as "THAT IS GUNS N ROSES GUITARIST DJ ASHBA." and said how hes hosting an event at the hard rock(?) in las vegas because of bullyville.com. talked about the residency. Fallon made a joke "you do know the band has to show up to these gigs correct? thats what a residency is!" with ashba saying "we can live there we dont have to leave!" and fallon replying with "oh my thats going to be a nightmare... and thats about all the time he got besides outros and suchEDIT: also when fallon was doing his "Pros and Cons" of sharkweek fallon says "PRO- sharks are the most terrifying creatures in the water. CON- Besides womens synchronized swimmers" and he showed a picture of all the stupid faces they made and cut to DJ i guess to get a shot of there guest laughing and enjoying himself, and all he was doing was standing there not even laughing with his hand on his guitar. TeeJay410 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 So DJ played guitar with the roots? I can only imagine what was going through ?uestlove's mind...
HisRoyalSweetness Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 sitting in with the late, late night show band is a great way to stir up some publicity for their upcoming casino gigs. maybe after CD II comes out, dj will be famous enough to earn a seat on the sofa.

scans n' copies Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I wonder how much Monster pays him to wear their logo so much. And I'm not hating on him too badly. I think he's got a little too much cheese factor, but all in all I think he's a positive for the band. He IS the only one in the band who has written any semi-hit songs in the last 20 years, so I hope they all write together. But his constant promotion stuff bugs me some.I thought he came across fine on the show. Could have been a lot worse.
