izzygirl
42 points for Chavez is too much. it was obvious that he was going to die soon. Not how the game works. I know but it's still ridiculous. He was young? Yes. But it was a death foretold. Edited March 5, 2013 by izzygirl

Lithium
42 points for Chavez is too much. it was obvious that he was going to die soon. Not how the game works. I gotta say, I'm surprised how few people actually put Chavez, I thought almost everyone had him.Lithium, is it cool if I put the standings in the OP?Sure thang.Might make it a little more interesting in future years if you "ranked" your list in priority....for example, if someone has a death in their #2 spot, it should be worth more than if someonehas the same person in their #7 spot....Just an idea....It's a good idea, except for the fact that it's a difficult game - last year, only two people from our lists passed away.42 points for Chavez is too much. it was obvious that he was going to die soon. Stop crying, please.
Powerage5
Work in progress:1. Hugo Chavez2. Jeff Hanneman3. Edward Furlong4. Ian McKellen5. Clive Burr6. Stephen Hawking7. Muhammad Ali8. Annette Funicello9. Hillary Clinton10. George H. W. Bush+44 points That brings me up to 86 total, putting me in the lead. Updated the standings to reflect this; everyone who had Chavez is still in second with 42 points, and Orsys is in 5th with 31 points. Estranged Reality
Roger Ebert has died at age 70, Don't know if anyone had him "drafted".This is an incredibly sad day for me. I emailed Ebert back and forth when I was a teenager and he was nice enough to encourage my writing and send me an autographed copy of his Great Movies book. Today, I've seen a wide range of reactions from people who had similar experiences. I probably wouldn't be half the writer I am today without his inspiration - as corny as it sounds, he's probably the person I tried to emulate the most, and looked up to more than any other writer, even fiction writers I admire. It's been a regular reassurance in some very weird way, knowing that I could always look up his reviews on films to see whether I agreed or not, or to gain some kind of insight. He's changed my mind or at least helped guide me that way with numerous films. Knowing the last film he saw was probably "The Host" is also really depressing. :/ Today blows.
