TombRaider
What GnR songs turned Gnr into the huge band they were back in the day?
magisme
Jungle, PC, SCOM, Patience, UTLH, YCBM, NR, CW, KOHD, LALDNot necessarily all their best songs, but those are the ones that made them huge.
TombRaider
I'd say Sweet Child o' Mine and November Rain.

dalsh327
GNR became superstars from SCOM. WTTJ was re-released and became a top 10 single after SCOM dropped off the charts. November Rain happened after they had a run of hit songs and were selling out arenas. It didn't turn them into a huge band, but it kept their momentum up through the summer of grunge. Snowmass
WTTJ got them noticed on MTV. SCOM made them popular across several demographics. Patience kept the momentum rolling, and November Rain solidified their status as the greatest band to come around since Led Zeppelin. For those too young to remember or not alive at the time November Rain was an event every time MTV played it. It was so transcendent that it put GNR in the same territory as Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Prince. They were the only rock band that could be mentioned in the same breathe as those early nineties pop icons who dominated MTV with lavish big-budget videos. This. God they were so massive....glad I was around for it.
