Ben Kingsley is of Indian descent so he just squeaks that one.

EDIT - Has there been racism in this thread?

No but there will be now...you white bastard, you

Why can you change everything, but the color of somebody's skin?

People are kinda sensitive about it because historically it is related to certain dubious practices like blackface and all that.
No, I'm talking about the race of a character being changed to suit the most qualified actor. Not an actor changing their skin color.

Can a white man play Malcolm X, can a black man play Winston Churchill...

Superheros are not historical figures. It's totally different. We're talking about fantasy fiction here - which you can change at a whim.

You know what, fuck it. Black people can play white people, white people can play black people, chinese people can play dinosaurs, and blue people can play rainbow people. Who gives a fuck as long as the job is done well and with good intent.

Pfff... His grandfather was Indian. Half of him is british from this mother's side, his father is one half-Indian and a mixture of different African ethnicities. Hardly Indian.

As I said; of Indian descent.

Heck, it's closer than Lou Diamond Phillips always getting the role of a Native American!

I think someone is forgetting an academy award nominated performance here ;)

Robert-in-Tropic-Thunder-robert-downey-j

The character was a satirical jab at the fact that Hollywood white-washes characters and how roles are less-likely to be offered to black people.

I know, I was joking

(that's what the wink was for lol )

Sorry! Considering the opinions of some in this thread, I can't be too sure of who'd actually agree with that.
